Me like the new audio sample for coms, if the rest of the game reflects this level of quality it's sure to be the winner we all hope it to be.

Would like to hear more situation perspective audio to reflect human emotion.. panic, frustration, urgency & danger.

eg: during a police chase, the coms from ground units you will hear in the background sirens, engine revving, tyres squealing, gun shots or during fire fighting /EMS jobs - machine noise, PA announcements, panic, off the cuff comments personal opinion and judgement (relative to situation unfolding). The objective being to be more connected to whats happening on the ground, to be more invested in the game play and increase the immersion factor.

After watching some of the vids from E3, i hope more than ever that BIS seriously consider keeping the animation of the pilots and crew in the cockpit. I know this feature has yet to be confirmed but please-please BIS do not compromise on this. I am aware the main argument against this is that the pilot animation obstructs the view of the instruments & controls (i beg to DIFFER! - i see everything just fine thanks).

Yeah this was the kind of thing i was wanting BIS to break the rules on with regards the STERILE & LIFELESS! traditional simulator cockpit view (we already have enough clones of MSFS etc).

BIS you can set some new benchmarks by not following the crowd here, yeah sure maybe not a major priority in the bigger picture, but the little touches(?) can be defining for sure, i think this and the other proposed features is what will separate you from the rest and could be another aspect to keep the player engaged.

Personally i like seeing the pilots legs, knees, arms and hands moving not some ghost in the machine.

For the simulator purists maybe a transparency option or option not-to could be included?

Also the icing on the cake for me if all expectations are met? would be the ability to replay the last 30sec - 1minute of flight time to evaluate landings and approaches, would like to see x3 fixed LZ cameras (random select for proximity) and free look 1st/3rd person view, zoom enabled.

*Mission want - x8 helo's with buckets & 737(AI) working together in co-op to fight major fire ripping across country, a nuclear power-station & towns in its path, 1hr to co-ordinate rescue evac and contain fire.

From the air roadblocks, flashing lights & medical teams can be seen & constant chatter, weather updates on comms. Reputation and exp points will be the reward.:cool::rolleyes:

Does it normal that chopper is constantly seeking to lurch right and back without any wind?

Very nice flying model, happy to see it in A3 btw

Anyone have success with todays 83836? I'm just crashing out on the loading screen, although I may have quite fragmented memory.

Edit: Nevermind. Appears it one of either of these that caused the crash:

-nosplash -world=Utes -skipIntro

Works for me with -nosplash

But "-skipIntro" caused an error during the loading screen.

Hmmm, TIR5 don`t recognise build 83836 (second Led don`t light up). Is there a way to enable it manualy? Checked it with Arma and it works.

It also seems that 2 of any 3 passengers who start off a mission as “in cargo†do not load and are just left standing by the helicopter and also won’t follow orders to get in (won’t follow any orders), while the 3rd passenger who dose start in the helicopter will follow orders.

However if you assign a “get in†WP etc method (passengers start outside the helicopter – not part of the player group) or have them all start outside then given them an order to get in (in players group) they will correctly get in.

TrackIR 5 not working like the others above.

The UI position deosn't get on very well with my Triple monitor NVIDIA surround set up either, the elements once positioned relative to the centre monitor and saved are then placed on the monitor to the right instead. Luckily resetting to defaults at least centres it all again.

Same here: TrackIR 5 not working.

Have tried a few tricks to get it working without success.

I didn't realise that I was so dependent on the darn thing.

Also I have no HUD elements what so ever, I'll see about that later, its probably my difficulty settings.

If that means you're totally lacking analogue gauges, hints, weapon infos, chat areas etc., could you please help us by trying one of following procedures?

* How does it looks like when you go to Options > Game Options > Interface Layout? What happens if you press Delete to restore defaults and restart the game?

* What happens if you delete your profile (*.ArmA2OAProfile file in "Documents > Arma 2" or "Documents > ArmA 2 Other Profiles" if you're not using default profile) and start the game? Will HUD be ok?

* Could you post content of your *.ArmA2OAProfile file here? Use SPOILER tags to hide it so it won't make the page incedibly long.

If that means you only cannot see cursors, action and all the other stuff which used to be green (or white in previous CP):

* Go to "Options > Game Options > Interface Colors", select "Ingame" and check what is current color of "Active Eleements" (selected by default in listbox). It should be 0%, 100%, 100%, 80%, with preset "Digital Blue" selected. If "Alpha" is 0%, it would explain why you cannot see any HUD (and it would make me wonder why the hell it happened :)).

* Same as above, could you post content of your *.ArmA2OAProfile file here (before changing anything in options)?

With my a2oa profile, this iteration of the CP none of the HUD is working regardless of the difficulty setting (don’t know about the analogue gauges as i cannot remember how i turned them off in the first place!) but i fly using the 3d gauges anyway.

if i delete my a2oa profile so the game makes a new one next time it starts then only part there in game is then the analogue gauges and the crosshair the rest of the HUD is missing.

the new shadow slider isnt working (still reset to minimum). The new settings for cloud detail also. But the new slider for wind speed works, on max the heli is now like a wild horse :D

I can confirm shadow distance slider, but it was said that cloud detail slider is not working due to lack of volumetric clouds in CP...

If that means you're totally lacking analogue gauges, hints, weapon infos, chat areas etc., could you please help us by trying one of following procedures?

* How does it looks like when you go to Options > Game Options > Interface Layout? What happens if you press Delete to restore defaults and restart the game?

* What happens if you delete your profile (*.ArmA2OAProfile file in "Documents > Arma 2" or "Documents > ArmA 2 Other Profiles" if you're not using default profile) and start the game? Will HUD be ok?

* Could you post content of your *.ArmA2OAProfile file here? Use SPOILER tags to hide it so it won't make the page incedibly long.

If that means you only cannot see cursors, action and all the other stuff which used to be green (or white in previous CP):

* Go to "Options > Game Options > Interface Colors", select "Ingame" and check what is current color of "Active Eleements" (selected by default in listbox). It should be 0%, 100%, 100%, 80%, with preset "Digital Blue" selected. If "Alpha" is 0%, it would explain why you cannot see any HUD (and it would make me wonder why the hell it happened :)).

* Same as above, could you post content of your *.ArmA2OAProfile file here (before changing anything in options)?

1: It looks as if it works. I can move the different elements and press Enter to set, go to game = no hud elements/ press delete, everything finds its default position but nothing shows in-game.

2: I am using a seperate profile for ToH. When I use my default profile the result is the same/ no hud elements. I will create a new profile to see what happens and or delete my ToH profile.

I can see the interactive stuff (lights/ battery switches on and of) using the default settings 0%, 100%/100%/80%.

The only thing that I have done differently was to use the uninstall exe. to remove the last beta.

I will re-install just to check if this is not the cause of the problem...

Seems my HUD was set to off...

I'm a lot happier now.

Can we move on to the TrackIR problem please.

Does that mean that everything's visible and changing positions in 'Interface Layout' affects element's positions after restart?

If so, you cannot imagine how much happier I'd be ;)

Yes, even better,

I have toggle HUD (RCTL H) set to one of my Joy buttons, I did not have to restart, just toggle off and then on, thats for teh flight dials, alt/speed etc.

I have not repositioned any other elements at this moment.

What a way to pass a Sunday afternoon, I was planning on having a little snooZZzzze.

Got any tricks to get TrackIR working ?

To prevent misunderstandings, what exactly you call HUD?

I would call the “HUD†the formerly green then white heading scale, radio altimeter (high above AGL) and the speed (normally grouped around the top centre edge of the screen) also perhaps the visual indicator for the collective application (top left edge of the screen), none of the above work or they have defaulted to “off†between this and the last iteration of the TKoH CP with seemingly no key combination to turn them on/off (regardless of difficulty setting.)

If you use “other vehicles†in TKoH CP you do get their respective HUD (speed & condition/fuel/etc).

The analogue gauges do turn on/off with the “RCtrl + H†(I would call this a panel not a HUD as it’s err mimicking the/a gauge panel)

“J†toggles the “task info†part of the in game UI

The compass, watch, GPS all toggle etc with their respective buttons.

Wile you’re here and looking and as its related to gauges, are there plans to add the second short fat “NR†needle (inner scale of rotor RPM) above the current longer thinner “N2†needle (high pressure stage outer scale % RPM) on the 3d cockpit combined “NR & N2†gauge – one of the most important gauges? ;) (FYI: N1 is the low pressure stage)

Latest build feels really really nice to fly. Great changes. I like the enhanced UI as well, but haven't played around with moving anything yet. Great work guys, October can't come fast enough!

Agreed. Just too bad 11.11.11 comes right after it (for those of us who are into those sorts of things).

nice update from BIS

the interface layout is a good idea:)

also the new warning indicators on the HUD are nice, but i hope they also find the way in the cockpit, otherwise the Veteran flyers have nothing from;)

So the newest build comes with the debug tool. Ehm, how do you start it? :confused:

press the Esc key as if you were exiting/saving/restarting, then press the F1 key.
