dmarkwick 261 Posted June 8, 2011 Gotta be said, Doom and Quake as I don't recall anything big and open ended before OFP (computer game related obviously, anything else would just be rude). Nothing wrong with Doom or Quake :) I played both those, the (fps) progression, roughly, for me was: Doom Duke Nukem 3D Quake Unreal/Unreal Tournament BF1942 + DC mod Ghost Recon So you can see the progression :)

Mr. Charles 22 Posted June 9, 2011 Why? I think this will bring many new players :) And they will see the potential in the series.

MrStregatto 31 Posted June 9, 2011 It make me sad because I'm feeling "robbed". I mean, why make ArmA 2 free, when there are people that paid it for play? I know, the free version lack of mod/addons support and other things, but It's look like the lite versions of the DLCs. But this time, instead of a dlc, BIS is giving the entire game... It's only ArmA2 (not ArmA2 CO nor OA) lite.
Mr. Charles 22 Posted June 9, 2011 You cannot use mods or SP campaigns. It is hardly the whole game. I guess Textures and such will be downsized, too.
