The locations of objects are in the map, but not the objects models themselves.

Thus, the more detailed trees etc. should be on the old islands.<span id='postcolor'>

The objects are separate from the map but the map has hardcoded which objects it has. They will most likely keep the old objects intact and add the new ones. The same goes with textures. It would be very unsound frome a bug point of view to just replace the old ones. You never know what issues you might get.

Now of course there are going to be people who will replace them for us , but I very much doubt that BIS would do such a thing.

The wrp file format is basically

Header

[X,Y,Z] data

path to objects and their positions on the map

path to textures

ahh hell.. why not just add JFK International? tounge.gif

I would like to see an civil airport.. not too big.. like, few cessnas and maybe two engine Turbo Props.. and lets say on two other places around the island.. two small dirt runway airfields smile.gif

also the train tracks someone mentioned befor, I think its a great idea.. adds up the scenery.. walking besides old traintracks while nearly surrounded by pine trees.

well anyways.. great work BIS.. this brings up happy memories when I was waiting for OFP itself.. looking at cool screenshots and daydreaming on how cool it will be biggrin.gif

i don't think BIS would upload a fake to their website and post it on their forums...

actually NASA was given a big enough budget to fake the whole thing. I mean, like send the rocket into space, but with the whole landing on the moon thing, I reckon it could have been done in a wieghtless chamber like the ones NASA have.

yes.................................. they suck all the oxygen out and they become wieghtless. Like the one in armageddon.

well, maybe not fully wieghtless, but it definitely reduces gravity. To be like the gravity on the moon

Jamesia gravity doesnt have any thing to do with oxygen...you can remove all the oxygen you want but there still is gravity

but lets stay on topic

well it sucks out the air anyway. mad.gif

anyway my point is that that that picture COULD have been done using photoshop, BUT I see that because it was on the website and an official guy posted it here. I love the look of the water in that pic. It looks more realistic than the last one.

Misteeq are well fit.

So, if you are going to post that (its gonna get deleted anyways), please post a big-ass SPOILER WARNING on top of that post, if you please<span id='postcolor'>

I'm sorry if i ruined anyones experience when they play the game for the first time. I didn't mean to which is why i only posted a small section of the document - only revealing:

1 - There will be a brigde and a river (which we just saw on a picture).

2 - There will be an industrial zone (widely known).

3 - A few minor details which i really don't consider that interesting.

can't we just stuff them in a fortune cookie or something? mail is too expensive and those rebels aren't paying us for postage! biggrin.gif

yeah, how do a bunch of really poor rebels, who haven't got much going their way,

how do they have such massive starships. How can they afford to build and maintain bases on iceworlds and massive temples in forests.

I suggest we put the plans on one of those tacky robotic dogs and throw it in the middle of a desert and let it have an adventure.

Bridges...Well that would be wicked. I picture it

...

Mission: Barrier break biggrin.gif

The Russians are advancing and our only hope it to blow up the bridge. Now the Russians can bring some APC through the river which we can handle but we are no match for the their MTBs. 4 MTB columns and 2 APC squads are heading to the bridge. Alpha, Bravo and Delta team will handle the APC's you can lay mines in the bank of the river to help you. T-80 will follow 5 minutes after the bridge is secured. The Russians are expecting us so u are going alone for the bridge. Place the explosives before any T-80 passes though or we are dead.

May the vodka be with you!

That sounds awfully like a typical day when i was in the combat engineers... (Though i only tried it on exercises) - Be aware that some of it is not half as fun in real life as in a game.

Explanation:

1-laying mines does either include running around with 2*12 kg mine in each hand= 40-50 kg

or sitting in the cramped interior of a M113 handing 10 kg mines through the rear hatch.

2-blowing up a brigde would typically include carrying several up to half a ton of explosives up to half a kilometre from the last suitable hiding spot to the brigde. Then (depending on the type of brigde and method of destruction selected) yoo will usually put nearly all the explosives beneath the water which (depending on depth) means you are getting wet.

At last the fun part (in an exercise that is):

If it is a "reserve explosion" (i think that is the english military term) you would wait and blow the brigde just as the last friendlies has crossed the brigde which means the forward enemy elements are really close. I tried more than one time to see enemy MBT and recon elements driving full speed towards me while igniting the fuse (or turning the handle of an electric generator). Then you would run "for your life" while the fuse was burning, and hear the explosion behind you at se the enemy stop on the other side of the river.

That was some of the most thrilling experiences during my time i the army.

Mads
