A.I. should use magazines in backpacks

A.I. should automatically use magazines in backpacks when their normal inventory is out of ammo and if their backpack contains ammo for their current primary weapon, launcher and pistol.

You could probably make a script to monitor the number of magazines in the AI's inventory and the amount in their backpack. If the magazine count in their inventory drops below a preset number, check if there are any remaining in their backpack (if not terminate the script to avoid infinite looping), remove one, then add one to their inventory.

Yes he could, however this is the suggestions forum and it is a suggestion that makes sense. ;)

One would think that that`s exactly why they carry the backpacks in the first place.Indeed this is a suggestion that makes perfect sense.

Really hope BIS find the time and give this issue a look at some point,cause I like playing long SP missions in editor.

Add on to that, of AI runs out of ammo, they should be able to scrounge ammo/weapons or pick it off dead enemies, instead of saying "Out of ammo! Out of ammo! Out of ammo!" for the whole mission after blowing their entire load in the first 15 minutes.

They already do (with AI squad leader). Guess you're just a lazy leader. :rolleyes:

Its quite a hassle to let the rearm properly though, usually i just get them to pick up a different weapon from a dead unit. :p
