Added somewhat of a twist to this mission, You'll be playing as a squad of Takistani Locals who must defend their cities against the attacking Takistani Army...this is, again, mainly an infantry mission, with a few vehicle parts in it. (7 Player Co-op)

Takistan War 1 (new Mission maybe it will turn into a Campaign, idk yet...Based in Takistan).

What this mission is:

6 player Co-op, or any ammount you want/Single Player... (will change soon, due to Feedback from People on it being too hard)...

You are given different tasks, check out a Town for enemy Presence, and defend a Village from oncoming attacks.

It's pretty much a "infantry" mission, you get to ride in a truck and helicopter...that's about the only vehicle action you'll get...but, it's still fun regardless :)

What this mission will include? (Behind Enemy Lines)

1. 2 Player Co-op Mission/s

2. A fun, Exciting Mission/s, where both of you only have one Life, and if one of you dies, it's game over (unless you save of course) :D.

3. won't need any mods, (just arma 2, and OA) :icon_dj:

Well everyone, I've decided to make seperate missions for this, but each mission will still focus on the "behind enemy lines" scenario.

First Mission I ever made, try it out if you want (this isn't part of the behind enemy lines)

The idea is not new, there is already a mission with the same name and the same concept:

http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=6270

But that's no reason for you to forget about your plans, because this mission is one of a kind, where the concept is great.

In fact, I loved to play it back then and was always a bit sad no other missions ever exploited this kind of gameplay. So I can only encourage you.

Thanks for the feedback, I had a feeling there would be missions that are already like this...But I'll take your word and keep on trucking :).

Depends on the type of aircraft.

If it's a helicopter pilot, then the pilot should be armed with a submachine gun (MP5A5) and sidearm (M9). If it's a fixed-wing aircraft pilot, then the pilot should be armed with just a sidearm (M9). Note, that the ammo should be as limited as possible, for realism and gameplay's sake. This was one of the reasons why the EW mini-campaign was so intriguing; the gameplay element of scavenging for ammunition on a battlefield. Note that a pilot would not be carrying dozens of submachine gun magazines on their person.

Of course, if the pilot in question is a civilian, then unarmed would probably be a good idea, or maybe even a sidearm with one or two magazines at the most. ;)

Thanks for the Suggestions...as I'm new to the mission making process, what would be the script to make the pilot only have a pistol? (I'm trying to write all these down so I can have them for future use)... scripting is the thing I'm terrible at...but I'm determined to get all the right scripts to make this mission good :)

and btw, it's a plane pilot.

Making the player unarmed or armed with a pistol is a good idea... with one serious drawback.

The animations make avatar handling with pistols and bare hands excruciating.

Your character will look and control like a baboon with an inner ear infection and it will affect player enjoyment.

Give us an MP5 with two magazines. That's good for two enemies at close range, if you're lucky. Or just give us an empty weapon.

Name the pilot Pilot1 and in the init box of the pilot put the following:

RemoveAllWeapons Pilot1; {Pilot1 addMagazine "15Rnd_9x19_M9"} forEach [1,2]; Pilot1 AddWeapon "M9";

That will give the pilot a M9 pistol and 2 magazines. The reason you put the magazines first is so the weapon is loaded when entering the mission.

Any other scripting related questions please ask in the editing forums mate, everyone is really helpful but use the search function!

Yeah Maturin, I know having a Pistol or nothing at all does look retarded...but I think putting an MP5 might be a bit much...maybe just putting an MP5, with 1 or 2 magazines?...I'll just go with majority Vote...(maybe even release 2 versions for people who want unarmed, or people who want armed).

and Dale, thanks for the help :)...I know I should of posted it in the editing forum, but it was just a quick question :D.

It doesn't just look retarded, pistols have some really bad effects on strafing, use of cover and stance changes. They also tend to make running feel uncontrolled.

I would rather have an empty MP5, or one with a single magazine. That's pretty much the same amount of firepower as an M9 with two clips.

I'll look into it...MP5 with one clip would be interesting...

UPDATE: I'm thinking about putting an MP5 with one or two clips...what does everyone think about that?

...This one is somewhat based off the Movie "Behind Enemy Lines" Except it is a 2 player Co-op Large Mission. (if you watched the movie, I know only one of the pilots survived, but there isn't much Co-op missions out there so I decided to have him live). ...

Really? I would say that this community is blessed with a huge, and seemingly endless, supply of co-op missions... Or where have you been hiding for the last ten years? :D

Anyway, good luck with the project, sounds like fun!

I miss Typed that :)...Meant to say there isn't as much Co-op as there is SinglePlayer.

And Thanks :)

Two MP5A5 magazines sounds good.

Alright, I'll most likely do that then.

UPDATE: Hey guys, I have a quick question...Should I make this into a LARGE mission? or just give you one mission at a time?

Large would just mean it would take forever to do...or should I just give this to you in different missions?...if I was to do the different mission/s then I already have mission 1 done.

i'm gonna have to go with unarmed. at least to start, later in the mission if the player is lucky enough to stumble across a weapon or something that he can use. maybe if he enters a house and finds an AK? just a suggestion. it would make the mission more intense for the first few minutes of play or until you find your weapon. and then ammo conservation is crucial.

Hmm...First off, should I make it into a Large mission? or seperate missions?

also, If I do make it unarmed...I Might have to change up some things, because I have 3 enemy Squads chasing you through the forest at the beginning :D.

Hello, I would say separate missions - you will get feedback much faster that way. Looking forward to trying your mission (as single player - will be interesting)
