Knackered 10 Posted February 24, 2011 (edited) Every so often when I look down the turret as a gunner it's as though the lens is covered in water. Also: Every so often the screen goes all scratchy and the visual quality suffers, it's sort of like watching an old video on VHS, I have to reload a save point to get rid of it. If it's not FADE what is it and why is it doing it? It's never done it before in the year or so I've had the game. If proof of purchase is needed I can take screenshots of my steam client with the game serial, I can also supply my Steam ID. Please advise. Edit: http://imgur.com/OpKlk Edit 2: This is what it looks like... It's like a scene from a bad horror movie! http://i.imgur.com/XBxyT.jpg Edited February 24, 2011 by Knackered
W0lle 1052 Posted February 24, 2011 Doesn't look like FADE to me. One typical indication for activated FADE is reduced (or non existant) hitting ability, e.g. you can't hit a target even just in front of you. Or spawning into a seagull all of the sudden. ryguy 10 Posted February 24, 2011 Does this happen in the editor (like just blank walking around chernarus)? Or only in missions? Because it looks like the film grain effect to me, in some missions they make it so it shows when you go out of bounds.

Because it looks like the film grain effect to me, in some missions they make it so it shows when you go out of bounds. It's doing it on the mission Freedom Fighters, it comes on randomly and the picture progressively deteriorates to the point where I can barely see a thing. I'm not straying out of bounds either.
PuFu 4600 Posted February 25, 2011 sounds like a faulty gfx card try stressing it in another 3d application.

ArmAriffic 10 Posted February 25, 2011 is your moniter or GPU ok?
Gnome_AS 10 Posted February 25, 2011 I'd have to lean towards the card side from looking at the one picture. Any chance your temps are outrageous? .
-)rStrangelove 0 Posted February 25, 2011 Would help to know what you have in your pc. As Gnome says, temps are needed too.
Knackered 10 Posted February 25, 2011 Temperatures aren't an issue, I'm not getting artefacts. I don't believe it's a problem with the graphics card. It's a Radeon 4870 running at stock clock speeds, the highest temp it gets to is ~72'C moniter How would taking a screenshot with fraps show a problem with the monitor? Lol. Gnome_AS 10 Posted February 25, 2011 Ok now that we've established you might actually be able to self-diagnose your hardware.. :) My next question would be, as ryguy asked, "Does it happen everywhere? Or only in that mission?" .
Kirby 2 Posted February 26, 2011 (edited) I actually have the problem of reduced hitting ability (Standing in front of a target, firing single shots at a target about 5 - 10 meters in front of me) on a paid for sprocket version... Should I make a new thread or, just actually make this one about FADE on paid games? lmao. Not sure if it IS FADE, but bullets seem to fly straight when targeting something semi-close, but further away they fall way short and/or land several seconds after they were fired. Ignore me. Only happens with ACE2 mod and is already documented and fixed. Edited February 26, 2011 by Kirby
