jblackrupert 14 Posted February 1, 2011 (edited) The patch thats been dragging on since 2008 is finally being released. http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-2142/1388599-battlefield-2142-v1-51-a.html There are new maps and Northern Strike is now free. DVD check has been removed. Server files are being sent out this week and an official announcement is going to be made when the servers are updated. The BETA 2 patch is now the official patch. OFFICIAL SOURCE: http://www.fileplay.net/file/12316/bf2142-patch-1-51-beta [Download speed cap in place] Torrent - Much faster source [This file has been verified to be clean and MD5 checked] http://www.gameupdates.org/details.php?id=4376 New installs should apply the v.150 patch first and then v1.51 Don't forget to edit the desktop shortcut to get Widescreen support. First: Right click on the shortcut for the game and select Properties. Second: Select the Target Path and add the +widescreen 1 at the end after the +fullscreen 1. It should look like this. C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +widescreen 1 Now all you need to do is to go into the game and select the resolution that you want to use. Patches sometimes have a problem with looping several times during install - Just be patient and it will finish. mosh 0 Posted February 1, 2011 Interesting, going to dig through a stack of DVDs and reinstall this one... I liked it a lot, but it didn't run good on Windows 7 a couple years ago (when I last tried with one of the first beta releases of 7). Thanks for the info. jblackrupert 14 Posted February 1, 2011 (edited) SP was just for messing around with the vehicles and weapons. The new maps are pretty good. There is a new version of "Strike at Karkand" is much better then the old one and many of the buildings are now enterable with multiple floors. (ie: Hotel). q0kGdkCkAoc Operation Blue Pearl QAxMXkPJT4M Molokai [Titan map] wxU1dUcX77I Yellow knife sO94EJ1a3D8 Then of course the maps and weapons of Northern Strike which is now free. vklpNgqG8g8 tEXe-9q5Hag Edited February 1, 2011 by jblackrupert

Trapper 0 Posted February 5, 2011 The only 1.51 server being listed for me is 203.46.105.41:20220 AUSTRALIAN TITAN 24/7 Ping 350 to Germany. Does anybody know about more servers? I can't play on 1.50 servers, can I?

I can't play on 1.50 servers, can I? You have to uncheck the populated filter [Advanced tab] to see the rest. Last time I checked there were 15 servers mostly in the UK. It's going to take at least a couple of weeks before all the servers are switched over. Until EA makes the official announcement there won't be many people playing yet. You can play on 1.50 servers but you have to backup the install directory BEFORE applying the v1.51 patch and messing around with shortcuts. There is instructions for doing this somewhere on the forum http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-2142/ Edited February 5, 2011 by jblackrupert
jblackrupert 14 Posted February 11, 2011 Update A problem with players clients failing the MD5 check when joining some servers means a fix needed to be made and the Beta 2 is no longer the final. A new working patch is being released on Tuesday Febuary 15th 2011 If you have v1.51 installed already you will need to go into Regedit and modify version number from 1.51 to 1.50 before running the install file. (I will update this post with how to do that later) If you are installing fresh from DVD or EA Download Manager you will need to download and run v1.50 patch FIRST and then v1.51 Mammoth in Australia will have it. Fileplay in Europe, WOLF and XFactor will have it in North America/Canada to begin with as well as EA's CDN Torrents will of course appear shortly afterwords. Steakslim 1 Posted February 12, 2011 I'd like to play this again, but I dunno if I could find all the install discs let alone the damn serial number if I were to look right now
jblackrupert 14 Posted February 12, 2011 I'd like to play this again, but I dunno if I could find all the install discs let alone the damn serial number if I were to look right now Your serial is saved on the EA support site and viewable when you login. All serials are saved there for any EA games you registered.
johncage 30 Posted February 13, 2011 this game looks and plays terribly. the environment and vehicle designs are alright, but the characters, namely the armor and uniforms was just awful.

johncage 30 Posted February 13, 2011 i mean the art direction. character design looks awful, no matter when it came out. i've seen 1950s concept soldier designs that look more plausible.
jblackrupert 14 Posted February 14, 2011 (edited) Official v1.51 patch has been released. http://www.fileplay.net/f/12724/mirrors#mirror-top [Registering won't get you faster speeds. Just so you know. Fileplay sucks balls] v.1.50 needs to be installed first. More official mirrors: http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/battlefield_bad_company/archive/2011/02/15/Battlefield-2142-update.aspx Patch can be applied over the BETA but you need to change a registry entry to make it happen. http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-2142/1390501-official-release-bf2142-v1-51-a.html#post19046787 Torrent: http://www.gameupdates.org/details.php?id=4505 Edited February 19, 2011 by jblackrupert
