A&D 20 Hold Villa [OA]

Zargabad is in US hands and Colonel Aziz is holed up in his villa waiting for extraction. A Takistani elite guard detachment is responsible for Aziz's safety and only a Delta Force team is deemed to be up to the task of killing the Colonel. Will Aziz become a martyr or a painful reminder to the US Army for years to come?

Mission updated, it seems that I somehow missed the respawn rearming not working.

Only Operation Arrowhead is required.

I was wonder if it would be possible to make this in the way that your Vanilla Dm's are, but instead of a time based move to the next zone, make it if won or lost it'll move to the next zone.

I'll stick the new version on the server when i get home and hopefully be able to get a good test of it going.

Question:

THe custom texture for the laptop, I know how it was done but I cant seem to get my file to work, yours is 22kb yet mine is always 44kb. What settings did you use?

Using photoshop .paa plugin at the moment. Any hints appreciated.

Make a png in Photoshop and save it as paa in TexView 2.

Celery we ran this last night public for testing and it did well is there any other HOLD missions out there like this because it did very well and our guys enjoyed it just became repetitive.

Yeah, it would be nice if you randomly obstructed (percentage present?) each window with various objects and had Aziz randomly spawn in various locations or even wander within the Villa.

I played this 1 on 1 and enjoyed it, though it would have been a lot better with more people. The Barrett .50 is a bit overpowered for this scenario, I think. You can basically deprive anyone of being in anything higher than prone position on the roof or the 2nd Floor balcony. Give them something in 7.62 to match the SVD Dragunov on the OPFOR side.

Plenty of smoke grenades and pistols on each side will make things more interesting, too.

Oh, and the other player complained that the OPFOR spawn was too far away from the Villa, at first, because I was able to get to the building just as he did, using the ATV. He suggested having it closer, at first, then have it move back later in play.

Random or selectable weather and lighting conditions would be good, too.

Would be nice... ArmA2 has an awesome weather and lighting system and its 24 hour clock means there can be some very colourful early mornings/evenings and in combination with certain weather... simply beautiful, why more don't make use of it is strange.

If someone has a ground fog script that works in mp plz post here, ground fog through burning barrels/campfires with a very dark early morning is god damn amazing... makes Crysis 2 look like Metal of Honour on Playstation.

ArmA 2 can be stunningly beautiful, more so than any game on the market... just needs the right creative people to take advantage of its full features.

This mission of mine has some major flaws in it, don't download or play until (or unless) I update it in the future.

Damn it, just saw your (Celery's) post here and thought it was a new A&D mission... :(

But... that fog script has made up for it :) hoping it will one day be configured for mp.

edit: I'll have a little peak at yer mission... its where I've gotten alot of my ideas :thumb:

edit2: I used that script for my 'FightClub' mission... of course it being an mp missions the script didn't work... LAN was fine... just no dedi :(

As long as the fog script is executed where all clients can execute it (such as init script or a "true" trigger), there should be no problem. I'm using it in an mp mission as well.
