Leopotam 10 Posted January 27, 2011 Yep. I thought - this tool is really necessary and will be in demand. I made a working piece of shit with a few bugs that need to debug it on real data. But there was only one tester. From this I concluded - tool is actually useless. Sources no longer exists as desire to write this tool again.
PuFu 4600 Posted January 27, 2011 (edited) you are over-reacting here mate. It is not like everyone is on those forums 24/7. Or has time on there hands at that very moment to test/debug the tool. Not to say that the addon creators are like 1-2% of the entire community (even if it seems the number is higher due to them being an relative active party on BIF). Myself for instance, i only have limited times these days, and i am pushing already 40+h without sleep, and i will be awake for at least another 16h in order to finish the work than needs to be done for my uni... I am sure your effort is appreciated by everyone who has ever tried (and most likely failed) to create a proper animation for BIS games. I already told you that i truly regret the fact that you made up your mind about the FBX2RTM converter, but let's not drag this further than it is needed. Leopotam 10 Posted January 27, 2011 Who is really needed - all the same is done through export frame by frame. It is not often produced animation, so no great loss. :) P.S. I just decided to try to export the animation - partly succeeded. To continue further - not interested.
LODU 19 Posted January 31, 2011 I am very interested in your work: I am trying to learn blender for a short time and the new version looks very promising. In my case, but I must not be the only one I can not, for lack of sufficient experience, to test what you are talking about the FBX conversion to RTM. But when I have a better level on this software, I intend to use a module that will allow me to convert animations made in rtm format (animals, mostly). I think you're doing a great job and it would be a shame to stop you just because, apparently, few people take the time to answer you. I know two people who use your work on the French forums. But they necessarily do not post here due to lack of experience on blender, like me, or poor command of English, like me). Thank you for your attention. DaveP 66 Posted January 31, 2011 This would be a pretty awesome tool to have, but realistically if you're not going to carry on because someone didn't post within 5 hours of you making the thread on a weekday when most people who might be after the tool are out working then I'd have to assume you wouldn't be able to carry out on post release support and so it'd be a half baked solution Much respect to the guy that finally makes this happen though, would be a great tool to have
