UK orders Ocelot/Foxhound Vehicle - addon for BAF?

The UK Ministry of Defence has signed a £180m contract for 200 new patrol vehicles to replace the controversial Snatch Land Rover.

It's a modular vehicle and the crew pod comes in 3 different versions:

-fully enclosed with top hatch

-pick-up truck

-open with roll-cage

They were designed by Warwickshire-based Force Protection Europe and Ricardo, a British automotive engineering company, and originally named the Ocelot. They have been renamed Foxhound :eek: by the MoD.

I know people are already interested in modelling this vehicle - this is the confirmation that it will be used by British Armed Forces. Curious choice of name though! Doesn't it clash with the well known NATO designation for a certain Mig-31 !!???

Well I would love to produce an addon one day - only been playing the game 6 weeks so no not got around to it just yet.

MRAP means Mine Resistant Ambush Protected. Think of the Wolfhound as a typical MRAP cat 2 vehicle.

And regarding the Ocelot/Foxhound - the day I get sufficient reference material is the day I'll start building a model of it ;)

Detailed specs will not be easy - all the detailed info on the manufacturers website is password protected :( . Hopefully they will release more soon. (you can email them for access?)

The door configuration has changed from the prototype - 1 smaller rear door and 1 drivers side door.

I already mailed them to get access. For some reason they have yet to get back to me via my business adress after close to two months.

Guess we'll have to wait until reference stuff on the web improves quantity- and quality-wise.

This vehicle is a High Priority for Project Reality, having been involved in some of the trials for this vehicle I can tell you its a pretty good concept, and a good vehicle.
