1.54/BAF Server Versions?

Recommended Posts

What do i need to do, to get BAF supported properly by my game host? Do i need them to just patch to 1.54? Or do they have to pick up BAF as well?

Thats only "IF" your not a steam user.

No Patch or DLC for Steam users yet.

Yes the patch ... has the DLC but the models and sounds are low resolution/quality.

(This wont effect client side if they have the full version DLC, otherwise they too will see low resolution and hear low quality DLC content.)

No need to yell or get excited ... I was just clarifying is all.

According to Maruk .. the low quality DLC is included in the latest patch.

Hrm.

Everything seems ok, but trying to start a game i get:

no entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgVoiceTypes/Male01.alternative'

(The male01 seems to change - 02,05,etc)

with a return to map selection.

Occasionally i get a pop up that says

"Picture ca\missions_baf\scenarios\sp_tankbusters.zargabad\img\loading_screen_thunt_co.paa not found"

(that line will vary depending on the mission)

Im not sure if its a bad install, or a bad patch, or what - anyone seen this?

it means your server's not been properly patched to 1.54

you're just running the new arma2oaserver.exe, but you also need to run the patch to update expansion/addons, dta etc.

The error message means the new .exe can't find the other files it depends on.

I had the same issue, this time I asked my hosting company to patch it for me from their end, saves arsing about with Filezilla.

Where do steam users find a windows 1.54 arma2oaserver.exe file? It didn't come with the update.

Could it be in Steam under "Tools"? At least that's where the dedi servers for other games end up.

there is a dedicated server for arma 2 but none for arrowhead. every one of my previous arma2oaserver.exe files I've had to download from elsewhere.

Thanks but I found a way to get it myself. I downloaded the official standalone 1.54 patch and used 7zip to search through the exe's file structure until I found the folder with the arma2oaserver.exe inside, then I just extracted that file to my server. Kind of a pain downloading 189 MB to extract an 8MB file but it worked.

exactly use 7-zip 9.15

ARMA2OA_Patch_1_54.zip

> extract

ARMA2OA_Patch_1_54.exe

> extract

ARMA2OA_Patch_1_54.exe

> extract

\.rsrc\0\RCDATA\ALL\ARMA2OASERVER.EXE

profit

p.s. yes there are twice exe inside exe with same filename and that's corrrect ;)
