I cannot patch the game to 1.54!

I downloaded the update file (from 1.52 to 1.54 version) many times (from different servers) but when installing the patch i have this error message:

Error in EXPANSION\ADDONS\air_e.pbo (00000000!=000000001) .

Error xdelta3 returned

What have i to do? I want to play with the british expansion!

I read in a thread here somewhere that running the patch exe from inside the ArmA2 directory solved some problems.

1.53 ? AFAIK there was no official 1.53 Patch available.....strange. BTW installed from 1.52 to 1.54 w/o any problems (ded.server n local machine)

I suggest a reinstall to solve the problem.

That was internal to the patch. ;) Guess it did it in two steps when running.

Others suggested that you move the download exe file to your OA folder and install from there.

Make sure to patch to ver. 1.54 BEFORE you install BAF - worked for me... :)

I am getting the same error that the OP is getting, as well as a whole host of other errors.

This is the list of everything that came up for me when installing the patch. I already know to ignore the missions_e error but all the others concern me. Absolutely NOTHING I do makes any difference to prevent these errors. I downloaded it from several different places, executed it while in the OA folder, still I get these errors.

I have been playing the game and it shows 1.54 for version, so I presume it worked.

Got the same problem as you guys do, I'm trying out damaboo's idea but in the expansion/addons folder, hopefully get to see BAF in action tonight :)

I've encountered the same warnings and since my PC is overclocked, I assumed it was data corruption. I'm formatting and reinstalling Windows, we'll see if that works..

update: I removed the overclock, reinstalled everything. I still get an error message for missions_e, but that's apparently to be expected.

I have been playing the game and it shows 1.54 for version, so I presume it worked.

Ok, so i updated to 1.54. Got multiple errors when installing, ignored them. Reinstalled again as you suggested. Did notice that the second time the installer seems that it is not copying any pbo file at all. Well... i started a dedicated server on my own computer, opened OA, went to multiplayer and tried to connect to my server... i got banned! :eek:

Server console shows this:

Does anyone have a good air_e.pbo file and wants to share? Or does anyone know of an installer that doesn't have errors ?

I've just downloaded again the update from the official links and oh my! it happens again... :(

I had a slew of pbo warnings. I uninstalled OA then reinstalled. I ran the 1.54 patch next (from another drive) and got no errors. I was able to install and run BAF, have had no side effects that I know of.
