Assault (CAN) 1 Posted April 28, 2002 The Canadian Army is now being issued new kit to replace the old 1982 pattern stuff. The new CADPAT system works quite well, when not used in Afghanistan. Our troops went over there with *green* CADPAT uniforms instead of the desert ones. That’s the Liberal government for you. Anyways, for all you guys abroad, I wan't to see what your Army's uniforms look like and what kind of kit you guys have to hump around. Here are some pics of the CADPAT pattern and kit: Rucksack: Tactical Vest: (webbing): Small Pack System: There you have it, everything but the boots! I think the system works quite well, it is even resistant to IR goggles. BTW, CADPAT=CAnadian Dispertion PATtern Well, show me yours! Tyler

Satchel 0 Posted April 28, 2002 This is the current issue german "Flecktarn" pattern combat uniform and gear, deliverance started around 1993 for some KRK units to replace the obsolete grey combat dress (although i personally think the grey one was much more heavy duty and durable than the very thin and comfortable to wear Flecktarn uniform). It´s made out of 65% cotton and 35% polyester. Some components: Rucksack: Shrapnel protection vest: Load bearing harness and pouches: Field shirt: Field jacket (Parka): Field trousers: Wet protection: For a 3 dimensional rotating model of a fully field equipped german Bundeswehr soldier please go here: http://treff.bundeswehr.de/data/01_soldat/09_uniformen/ click "uniformen ansehen" and select the uniform you want to view from the pop-up window. cam0flage 0 Posted April 28, 2002 Here are some pictures of the finnish m91 (model 91, from the year 1991, of course) combat uniform. It includes a kevlar helmet, combat vest which protects from shrapnel, and a belt with 5 pockets for equipment. The gear also includes a very advanced model 95 gasmask, and the uniform itself has a layer inside which offers some protection against NBC weapons. There isn't a different uniform for winter, but instead a hooded jacket and pants which are used over the normal gear. // camoflage

Assault (CAN) 1 Posted April 28, 2002 LMAO!, hey Denoir, I use the same cam as you guys. Is that 'HUNTER'S SPECIALTIES' camo creme that I see on top of that balaclava? No way! Hey, where is the U.S., British, and Russian kit? Tyler

And that's what you are going to see in every official army picture. But the old m/62 (yes it's from 1962) is still widely used. In a fact it is still more common than m/91. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures from it.

Major Fubar 0 Posted April 29, 2002 Australian Army: We changed a few years ago. Up until then we were using the US (?) cammo, but research showed it didn't blend very well into Australian bush textures. (P.S. I have no idea why his face is blocked out)

USSoldier11B 0 Posted April 29, 2002 Do the Australians use a Steyr Aug or an Enfield SA-80? I couldn't tell from the pic. I'm too lazy to look up the U.S. gear and post it. Right now we are switching from the old ALICE system to the new MOLLE system. When I was down at Ft. Benning some 82nd guys were there testing the Land Warrior system. They told me that it sucks. Everything breaks in the field.
Major Fubar 0 Posted April 29, 2002 Australia uses the Steyr, which replaced the SLR (L1A1) a few years ago.
Hilandor 1 Posted April 29, 2002 here we have the scottish soldier   notice the camoflagued uniform he wears, no backpack either but the sporran can hold everything the soldier needs for weeks in the field. also the safety head gear  which allows the soldier to lie prone without being detected in a mulitcoloured environment and no the dude in the background smoking the peace pipe isnt me
