santafee 10 Posted August 14, 2010 (edited) I didnt play trough it, so why are the Russians enemys to the USA?:eek: or better, are they at all or is it just to have a big enemy for the game.. Edited August 14, 2010 by Himmelsfeuer
Devil Dogs SF 13 Posted August 15, 2010 Don't the Russians attack Elekrozagosk or whatever it is called in assistance to the ChDKZ? I am interested in this also.
wipman 1 Posted August 15, 2010 Hi, after play the ArmA 2 campaign... i didn't had it very clear neither, but this is what they role supposedly was. Act as a "peace keeping force" for the good of the civilian population while being very permisive with the CHDKZ. That's how i seen the russians in the ArmA2 campaign... but if you open the missions editor... you can see the russians in the OPFOR side. Let's C ya
Deadfast 43 Posted August 16, 2010 They don't necessarily have to be the enemy, depends on your choices.
santafee 10 Posted August 16, 2010 ok thanks for your infos. . i just wondered how they stand to each faction in the game, but looks like you could make a campaign similar to Harvest Red and OA without throwing the whole scenario from the BIS campgaigns over board;)
Luomu 10 Posted August 16, 2010 but if you open the missions editor... you can see the russians in the OPFOR side. Let's C yaThis is due to the (archaic) "West, East, Independent, Civilian" divide present since OFP.
Devil Dogs SF 13 Posted August 16, 2010 I wish Russia was Blufor, or even better independent, would have made it more convienent for mission makers aiming for realism (The odds of a US/Russian conflict happening today is low) instead of having to group them with a blufor unit or edit the mission.sqf. celery 8 Posted August 16, 2010 I wish Russia was Blufor, or even better independent, would have made it more convienent for mission makers aiming for realism (The odds of a US/Russian conflict happening today is low) instead of having to group them with a blufor unit or edit the mission.sqf. On the other hand USA <3 Russia missions are a minority and it would make it very, very hard to make a conventional warfare mission where both sides have a comparable array of equipment. Jezuro 452 Posted August 17, 2010 The Russians arrive in Chernarus after the Moscow bomb attack as they suspect NAPA being the terrorist organization responsible and establish a base on the airfield. Then there are several campaign outcomes. If you fail to collect enough evidence that it was in fact the Chedaki and join NAPA (and destroy their base), they still believe Chernarus is now controlled by the same group that directly attacked the Russian nation. Hence the nuke. However, if you prove it wasn't NAPA and give them the evidence, they leave peacefully and even thank you for stopping what could turn into WW3.
