    • The weapon sounds!
    • The vehicle sounds!
    • Environmental sounds!
    • Explosions, Soniccracks, Bullethits, the sound of danger!
    • The script features like the "distance sounds"!
    • Everything combined! The whole Mod itself is important.

No Mate, I guess there is nothing more to do on the Mod so far. Some errors to fix and some custom config shit and thats it so far. I was surprised about the further Status of the mod as I was taking an look on it at all! After RC-Rl there will be some errors of course. But most of the big problems are solved and fixed.

Ok, the RC 1.0 Version contains more than 850 Files and its about to be more than 1.3 GB big! Every earlier content I was working on, old Sounds from Beta versions, all this is in this Pack now, so everyone can choose for his own, what sounds he want to use. Without getting errors on Multiplayer, because there is always the same bisign. files! I will split this of into multiple DLC's so you can Download each one you want to ...

I cannot tell you when I will find the time to get this done. Maybe tomorrow and than I can pack it all together, making multiple packages for DLC's and can upload all this stuff. But this will take some time. Maybe some days, maybe more. I hope again you can wait a bit more :D I know how hard it is to wait for something you really want :D

I followed Maturin's advice and looked around my rpt. I deleted everything on your list except SA61, SMAW, GP25, and m4A3, the mod still works for me with those.

For some reason though, I had to delete a few extra files: AKM, RPK, and Bradley to get everything working, which is weird, because those weapons are in vanilla.

And this allowed you to load saved games when not running OA? And did you delete the Bradley sounds or the Bradley weapon sounds?

Jarhead: I don't even have several of those OA .pbos in my version of JSRS. Have you added them since the last beta release?

No several OA.pbo's ????? Cant be Mate! Must be in the last... three Beta releases! I mean, all listed .pbo's one page before are in the Beta-Phase since three releases or so (since Release 0.5 Beta I guess)! So last 0.99B have those files for sure!

Or do we talk about different things here? :)

You are really bringing a Soundmod with 1,3GB? What the Hell is in there? Did you make new Sounds for every Weapon and Vehicle in the game?

Haha, yah Mate. Thats what I doing since the first Release^^ Ok, not every Vehicle, but nearly all Weapons, Explosions... I mean, everything you can hear in this game is my work so far.

Nah, it wont be so big. At all its about 1.3GB, but I will split this of. So, If I would take all Sounds I have for my mod, it would. But I will give you the chance to choose for each weapon on the Game the sound you want.

Are you planning on breaking it into multiple downloads for those that don't want to download the old sounds? My university internet isn't the greatest so... :p

Oops, I'm stupid. I already deleted OA content that I couldn't use anyway. But regardless, I deleted everything you suggested, but I still can't load save games. The mod itself seems to require certain OA versions of .pbo files such as characters and a whole bunch of launcher types.

Yah, of course Mate! I don't want to force you to download stupid old stuff you don't want to use^^ But I mentioned it, didn't I? I will split the whole mod into the new Version and an collection-DLC of all I did so far. And than I will make multiple Downloads for this. ;) No worries Mate, you can get this as small as I can bring it :D

Try to delete all Launchers and the Movement.pbo! Maybe this will fix the SG problem and I can work further on the Launcher-Configs... maybe there is still an Config, that is looking for an Launcher for Vanilla AND OA...

EDIT: I guess its the SMAW... I remember on some strange entry in that Config...

When I delete your sounds for the Igla, I still get errors relating to the Igla, so I don't think this is fixable until you release something else.

These are the default Arma 2 addon pbos that the save game error refers to:

catracked_e

caweapons_e

ca_e

cacharacters_e_head

caweapons_e_javelin

caweapons_e_metis

caweapons_e_strelacaweapons_e_stinger

The pbos you told us to delete fix the non-critical game startup error messages, but not these.

catracked_e means the Bradley I guess, caweapons_e are some Weapons with wrong "RequiredAddons"-Entrys. AKM and RPK for example, but easy to fix. cacharacters_e_head means something about the Movement.pbo. There are soldiers of OA included, I had to do this, otherwise there would no stepsound even work.

caweapons_e_javelin, caweapons_e_metis, caweapons_e_strelacaweapons_e_stinger are the Launcher, of course, with wrong entrys. I take a look on them too, maybe its all done in some minutes.

EDIT: Yah, most Launcher configs have an wrong entry in the "RequiredAddons"-Section. But I guess if I would fix it the way I try now, it would just require Arma2CO... hmm... I take a look on that.

Out of curiosity, Jarhead, do you have savegame functionality when only using Arma 2, assuming you don't use CO?

Well, I never tested this at all! I was just always ingame for short tests on new Sounds/Configs. I don't play at all! Sometimes maybe for some Minutes in the Editor, but thats it so far. I played the Campaing and could load any Savegame I made so far. But I always play with CO.

So I don't know. A friend told me, I just should do what I want to, and when this Mod is designed for CO, than it is just for CO and nothing else. So I never tested on Arma2 Vanilla. I give it a try! But not today, its late and I need ma bed. Thanks Mate for the support.

Very top notch so far, however, the helicopter sounds for the Blackhawks and Little Birds aren't that great to be honest, I like the default sounds for them.

Also I get this bug where randomly I will have a static hissing sound, and it dosen't go away until I get in a vehicle for example.

That's a wind-on-sand environmental sound effect. It usually plays at the start of every game for me, then goes away. I believe Jarhead said he removed it because lots of people noticed it as out of place.

If you prefer vanilla sounds, then simply deleted the mah6 and mh60 pbo files.

Edit: I goofed again, Jarhead, sorry for all the confusion. The MANPAD and ATGM errors I reported are actually caused by Mando Missiles! How disappointing, as now I may not be able to use MMA with savefiles either. I have JSRS working 100% for Arma 2 singleplayer, and the only sounds I am missing are the AKM and RPK. They and the Bradley don't always warn you about their config errors.

As far as I know, this sound you're hearing is supposed to be a slight wind noise rustling around the character.

It'll be in the environment .pbo, but that will delete everything, leaving you with BI bird chirps etc. Personally I'm used to it although I won't miss it.

I use ver 0.99B from sep 12 2010 - are there a newer beta avail for d/l - if so i cant seem to find any d/l link. Reading this thread seem a lot have been solved since that release, also saw something about an RC1 ver but couldnt find a d/l.

No, you have the actual version of the Beta. Thats right. Yah, I fixed a lot of problems so far but had no time until now to fix the last errors and pack this all together and upload this. This will take some days. So stay tuned.

I´m exiteted to hear how your AK Sound will be like. Only a few People manage to get these sounds right......

You may want to look at the M107. The muzzle blast has a tendency to not play, maybe two or three shots in every magazine. I hear the ejected cartridge hitting the ground, but nothing else.
