Rangers have been using scars for a while but i think they are getting withdrawn from service due to the order cancellation of more scar-l's.

Actually Rangers were first unit using SCARs in combat. Though, mostly Mk17.

True, although almost all the images i could find of rangers showed them using m4s.

Exactly, main weapon for most SOCOM units is still M4A1 - SCAR are used in A-stan time to time only...

SOCOM is buying the MK17 and MK20 SCARs, but not the SCAR-L. However, once the common receiver scar is available, SOCOM will have the option to buy a 5.56 kit for the 7.62 MK17s using the common receivers.

Yeah I saw that, I don't really know what it is. The front of the units seem to be abnormally dark when the sun is facing the other direction.
