I am very new to Modding on Steam and have just released my first scenario with Arma 3 only 2 weeks ago. Now I have worked tirelessly on this great campaign but I am haveing beginners troubles with getting my config file and my description file to work. I have scrounged the internet looking for every scrap of informaiton online to get my mod to do two simple functions. 1. Show My Custom Campaign under Campaigns in the Arma 3 menu. 2. To show my Overview.paa, Description, and not show my levels all at once. Currently I have only gotten them to work as scenarios but I have followed to the best of my knowledge the config and description.ext setups. Please anyone can you spare a few minutes to help me out with this? I would like to release the mod as a proper campaign. All the levels are finished and I already have a .pbo file. Here is my code in the config. /* Addon configuration */ class CfgPatches { // Directory under which all content contained in the PBO can be referenced ingame class Campaigns { // You can set up restrictions using these requirements units[] = {}; weapons[] = {}; requiredVersion = 0.1; requiredAddons[] ={}; }; }; class CfgMissions { class Campaigns { // The campaign package class Campaigns { // Location of the campaign files. Note that it uses the defined directory in CfgPatches directory = "Campaigns\TCOE_MAIN\Campaign"; }; }; }; When I launch the game it comes up with an error stating... File SteamLibrary\steamapps\Common\Arma 3\Campaigns\TCOE_MAIN\config.cpp,line 15: '/CfgMissions/Campaigns/TCOE_MAIN.": '"' encountered instead of '=' Im not sure what I did wrong can someone please point it out to me in laymans terms?

[SOLVED] how to change a thing in Description.ext
Play3r posted a topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
I have been reading about the Description.ext on the wiki and i was thinking if it is possible to change the OnLoadMission text, to something random. Like ; _OLM = random ["The enemy has 12 helicopters","The enemy is a full Battalion of SpeOps","You have only what you can find on what you kill"]; onLoadMission =_OLM; i know this is not the right way to do it since it does not work for me, does anyone know if it can be done. all i get is the '_OLM' on my screen not one of the lines. cheers -

This is probably asked a lot, since it's likely a common problem that I feel like I should have been able to solve by now, but my description.ext just doesn't work. It's not even that complicated, it's just five lines of config. Here are the contents; respawn = "BASE"; respawnTemplates[] = {"MenuPosition"}; respawnDelay = 5; respawnVehicleDelay = 3; disabledAI = "true"; I've fooled with the formatting for a half hour now, double and triple checked to make sure everything is spelled and capitalized properly, used every alternative for values ("BASE" vs 3 in the respawn variable, "true" vs 1 in disabledAI), but no combination causes it to work. The filename is "description.ext", and I've made absolutely sure that it's also spelled right. I have no idea why it isn't working, and it's ridiculously frustrating. If anybody could give me suggestions as to what else I could try, it'd be greatly appreciated. I've also added player and vehicle respawn locations to my map, with the names "respawn_civilian" and "respawn_vehicle_civilian_1" through "respawn_vehicle_civilian_6". I've double checked those for spelling errors as well. I also added this line to my init.sqf for the vehicle respawns; { _x respawnVehicle [-1]; } forEach vehicles;
