  1. VT5 - Valtatie 5 | Final release | Finnish terrain for A3 Name of the map is Valtatie 5, or "VT5", and it translates to "Highway 5". I've been working it about a year now and with the help I've received its beginning to be ready for releasing. Features: Map is made to imitate Finnish landscape and nature with A2 and A3 assets. Terrain area of 6km x 6km, in all 36km^2 and it is built on heightmaps and aerial photographs by National Land Survey of Finland. Terrain contains over 350 000 objects. Map includes forest, fields, lake scenery and small islands. About 30 small farms and farmyards. Highway, asphalt and dirt roads. Paths in the forests. Heightmap is heavily modified for Arma 3 to gain detailed "microterrain" so there is ditches and hummocks for infantry to take cover! Realistic offroad movement for vanilla vehicles. Wheeled vehicles don't have as good offroad capabilities as tracked.   2. No changes were made to vegetation/ tree count between final and earlier versions. If the map seems to run smoother than it used to, the credit for it goes to the devs and their work on engine optimization.
  3. Bornholm is a prize winning map by Egil Sandfeld. https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/174278-bornholm-denmark-terrain/ Since the day map was released, i've liked it alot. It coverages huge area and is still very detailed in visuals and audio. Originally it was made to be standalone. This meant that all us AiA TP users had to download lots of data we already had again. Disk storage isn't expensive but this felt always really inefficient. So I've decided to make a AiA TP compatible version of the map I love with a source files Egil has shared with the community. :) lite_Bornholm is Bornholm that uses objects from AiA TP, and CUP in the future. Original Bornholm had a lots of nice retextured objects like trees and plants and they are the only thing that are missing here. All the retextured objects are replaced with "vanilla" objects from A2 and A2 ep1. I guess we can say that summer has turned into autumn in Bornholm now. Personally I think the autumn objects fit in the map really well. I hope we'll see more use of those source files. If conflicts turn out, I'm willing to respect Egils request to try to help each other so there's almost only one version out there.

    I just created a new project and added plugin there.Turned out the demo doesnt really do what i was hoping it would do. Does anyone know easy way to add power poles with lines in terrain processor?

    shouldn't it be where i've set it to be created? anyway the tp doesn't create any files to that location. I tried without UAC too.

    Don't have folder named terrainprocessor in my source folder. i've set the output folder to be in source folder tho. I also tried to export to other drives with no luck.

    just cant find this.lbt file :/ i assume there should be a saving path after "saving all objetcts *.lbt in *********"

    im trying to use the powerlines.tpp in demo but cant get output from it. what am i doing wrong? ive set the output folder to export options but the path contains the input folder too.. also tried multiple directories
  13. I might update the lighting of the map once Bohemia releases documentation for configuring it. Im still not pleased how the map looks with new lighting shader, but other than that - no more updates are coming.

  17. I say the community can easily live without Taunus if devs decide to stop working it permanently. After all hype and teasing, such act will follow them for the rest of their lives, but its their decision. But I also feel their pain. Ive always wondered why the BI has not released a tool for modders to tweak lightning. in theory it should be possible but without right tools its practically impossible.
  18. Now this is one amazing map. Never seen so life like terrain in Arma before. Congrats for the release! Only downside is that it kills GPU with its awesomeness. :D I had to lower my view distance to 1000-1500m to get decent 20-30fps frames. Low cell size with high object variety and density is definitely the problem there. Have you thought about optimizing or some kind of lite version of the map? Thanks again for the great work you've done for the community! Going to open the editor right away and start making some Generation Kill -missions. :wub: EDIT: Btw, theres lots of invisible holes in the river. If you drive boat over the hole, it just falls right through it to the bottom.
  19. Come on. About UsCommunity Upgrade Project is a mod by the community and for the community. The project is completely open source and any modder is welcome to join the team and contribute, share knowledge and build upon the CUP content. http://cup-arma3.org/about Thanks, Conen and Tupolov. You guys helped me alot. :) EDIT:Just to explain myself. Im planning to forge all the assets from cup that are not overlaping with RHS assets. This project would be updated along with original CUP weapons, -vehicles and -units. Makes me think why not to share all the source files and restrict the access only to repository - but what do i know.

  21. FYI: Open source means that anybody can access the source-files! :D Thats why im confused. It doesn't mean anybody can join the development team.

  23. I understand completely. Nice to hear there's going to be low density version also. Just saying.. every other island will work even with 200 players and they have nice looking forests too. Its just a balancing guestion. For example, xcam_prototype_map was not optimized at all and there is no rig you can play it with steady 30 fps. Ofc, my talk here is nothing but late bs since you already have almost all forests done. Just sharing thoughts here. :)
