There are six maps total at the moment; two available at the same time, one of them changes every week. So each map stays for two weeks, but every week there's a change.

Networking backend? Is the match hosted on player's console or @dedicated servers?
Locklear replied to GimbleFIN_'s topic in General Discussion
There are dedicated servers located in multiple locations all over the globe. -
You gain as much materials, as is the value of the resources you've looted. Dying on purpose does not seem as a viable strategy to me, since resources you bring back can be used to upgrade the shelter *or* deconstructed into materials, as you need. Also, since we now usually have a low player count per level (e.g., four), the amount of loot you get is higher than the loot distribution is designed for.

Weapon scopes & target hit indicators
Locklear replied to Dredd1973's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It will go through some tweaking to sate your bloodlust. :) -
Thank you for the feedback. 1) and 2) are known to us and being worked on. 3) is something we'd like to find a reliable solution for.

This is intentional, actually. Partially to compensate for some features (not being able to craft ammo for weapons I don't have a blueprint of), partially to make sure players won't struggle with ammo at all and will be able to test the game freely. We plan some changes to crafting, and together with them, we will lower the amount of ammo in encounters.
-
We have some plans to provide players more to do in the levels. If it goes well and we keep that, it will also make matches a bit longer.

There should be an update for this soon™, and more tweaks and improvements in the future.

Weapon scopes & target hit indicators
Locklear replied to Dredd1973's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
There will be guns with scopes added later. A successful hit is indicated in several ways, actually: the crosshair briefly turns red, there is a blood splatter and a hit sound, and based on various factors, there's an animation for a hit target. -
People teaming up and no gamertags to report
Locklear replied to ReRedRingerSpore's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I believe teaming is an issue for now, when the player count is low. It should not be the case once there are many more concurrent players. If teaming is something that happens between strangers in a match as a result of an ad hoc communication by movement (and later, gestures), we are absolutely fine with that. In the future, we want to introduce some sort of co-op option for playing with friends against other like-minded players. -
We are likely to remove instant leaving in the future.

The message usually means there was an update and you need to update the game. Please consider following @vigorthegame on Twitter, where updates, server downtimes, and other useful information is shared.

There are some weapon stats tweaks to be released soon™. The melee itself will require more tweaking, as some aspects of shooting—we work on that, and gather your feedback in the meantime. Thanks for the patience, feedback, and suggestions. :)

Shhh, don't spoil upcoming features. ;) At least as far as letting you know who killed you goes. Kill notifications are a bit more complicated decision: e.g., not being sure if I actually killed someone I was shooting at and who has disappeared behind a rock is a valuable part of the experience.

Destroying items should be possible while looting, and weapons can be swapped during looting, too. Thank you for reporting other issues.

Stamina Meter and Falling Damage
Locklear replied to schluesselbart's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
A stamina system of sorts shall be eventually a thing. The same for fall damage. -
We will likely talk about blood tracking internally, but no promises regarding that. Personally, I wouldn't mind getting rid of jumping completely, but it may be difficult to navigate some parts of our levels. And we'd like to keep them that way to preserve authentic feeling and look. Limiting jumping with a stamina system of sorts might be an option.

It's a known issue, but thank you for reporting anyways.

The browsing works when you are in a looting UI. It shall be eventually available any time you open your inventory.

Killed by radiation, not in radiation zone
Locklear replied to Dredd1973's topic in General Discussion
The red circle has nothing to do with radiation, it indicates an approximate airdrop landing zone. It will be changed later to green, so it doesn't look like danger (although it kind of is, when more people try to get the airdrop :D). The radiation direction is indicated by an arrow in one of the map corners. It will be indicated more clearly later. When the radiation starts creeping it, the Geiger counter starts to tick slowly. When you are in the radiation, the sound of Geiger is much more intense, and there is a post-process effect on your screen; you can also see your max health dropping at an increasing pace. Hope this helps. :) -
Since last update: Mk-I EMR less powerfull ?
Locklear replied to Flying-Coyotus's topic in ARGO - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
The damage is balanced around much closer distances, as the whole Argo gameplay is. Most of the hits/kills happen under 100 meters, as intended. As a result, damage on longer distances is lower then one could expect in comparison with real guns. In case you are looking for more authentic experience, I believe Arma can satisfy such needs. -
The type of vest you chose in your loadouts will be used when you play as a Cloud, the proper color variant will be used automatically. PS: We are aware of the issue with the damage and we are investigating.

We are investigating the issue with the soldier durability, sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

No intentional change to the damage model has been done. We are investigating the issue.
