crosshair, third person and zoom needs to be rookie difficulty
13islucky replied to defk0n_NL's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I like the circle one, honestly it seems sensible enough to work and not so precise to the point that you could point shoot past too far. -
Seems to work fine again in Devbranch. Can't tell what it's like post-hotfix, though.
-
Heh, when I saw it I said to myself "This looks very Battlefield 4." It's not that bad, just kinda out of place in the Med. Also: Holy VR performance Batman! I haven't had these many frames since forever!
-
Nice new headgear, shame the texture variations don't seem to be there yet.
-
The slomo works fairly well on yourself in first person, since all you can see are legs moving slightly slower, however looking at other units or in third person it looks fairly dopey. I was hoping that a separate animation would have been perhaps a bit more appropriate.

Launch options - limited character spaces
13islucky replied to ATTACKM0DE's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
If you really insist on using the launch options, you could try to combine several modfolders into one, reducing the amount of parameters you need. Alternatively, you could dump the launch params and use the in-game expansions menu like me, but you need to restart the game everytime you add something. -
Interesting that it's facewear now. Could it be for things like balaclavas and hoods?

Up Armored HMMWV Modification - Release
13islucky replied to Richards.D's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I think standard NATO 5.56 and 7.62 tracers are red, as autumn says. Only green tracers I know of are 5.45, though people yell me that it's Pact-standard to have them green. -
Could be the VR suit that was briefly mentioned. Makes kinda sense. Edit: Whoops, looks like I was thinking of something else entirely.

ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread
13islucky replied to max power's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
TMR does a pretty good job with the recoil. Best part is that it's modular so you can take out everything else if you wanted to. -
I disagree with the last part of that sentence. While the 'finish your game' stance some people seem to adopt I understand, I do not understand how you have somewhat negative connotations to modding. Modding is fucking awesome, no matter how much stuff and features is in the game.

What features are fundamental to the Marksman DLC? (no speculation)
13islucky replied to RushHour's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
That's the Source engine, mate. I don't know about you but for me having Scope Detail on anything above medium on that game and the chugs start appearing. It also has the RO2 thing where the scope image is still there when you sight out, making it look like a TV screen. It's not bad, personally I prefer 2D scopes, especially the TMR kind with their accurate to a caliber BDC and the edges darkened (though I'd ideally prefer having them blurred). -
Fatigue Feedback (dev branch)
13islucky replied to solzenicyn's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
Is it just me or does the fatigue threshold seem to lower as time passes by? I've noticed units getting losing their ability to sprint after a couple of seconds after several run+stops and I'm wondering if it's just me. Also, while the existence of vertical sway is fairly realistic the way it almost vibrates when in motion is a bit too much. Perhaps on uneven ground it would be something like this but on flat land you could be able to manage sway to have it fairly close (though noticeably more) to standing up.- 1935 replies

Fatigue Feedback (dev branch)
13islucky replied to solzenicyn's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
While I will admit that the current amount of sway is somewhat too much (for some reason I do like it though), running up a hill in full combat gear is no joke. Neither is engaging at 300m after that. Some advice I can give to cope with that is to go prone and engage. If they haven't spotted you yet, go prone and wait for your guy to calm down some first.- 1935 replies

Toadie's SmallArms and Animations for Arma3
13islucky replied to toadie2k's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Whelp! Looks like my info is pretty outdated: railed fore-ends are now really a thing. My only real reference pics of the KA4 are from when they first came out. Anyways, I've noticed that there's a bullet in the SA M14 when you pull the charging handle. Attention to detail, very good, very good. It seems to be missing on the DMR, and I can't tell on the Troy one. I like the how your guy does an underhand when you're prone: It helps to trick people into thinking that you know what you're doing with an AK (*cough* *cough*). Also, this is an extremely minor detail, but I can't seem to find the fire selector on the M14s. Isn't there one right here? -
Toadie's SmallArms and Animations for Arma3
13islucky replied to toadie2k's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Congrats on the release, I have a few things to say: 1. The guns seem a little... rusty. Especially the M14 variants. It's a bit too much rust in my opinion. 2. The recoils are again different per firemode. I realize that this may be intentional, but then again, they could not be as well. 3. I noticed that your G3KA4 has rails... a whole lot of rails. As far as I can tell G3KA4s tend to still use detachable rail mounts and have the G3A4-type handguards, which are the wider, more 'classic' HK handguards you see on the HK33 and later MP5 variants. Other than that, "pretty solid release" would be an understatement. -
TPW MODS: enhanced realism and immersion for Arma 3 SP.
13islucky replied to tpw's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
This is happening more and more often ever since TPW Skirmish. I'm thinking of doing some gear testing on Utes for a couple of minutes, then I spend half an hour watching the flares, the artillery and CAS, the small infantry skirmishes, the helicopters flying overhead etc. It's really overwhelming for me, and I say that in a good way.- 5767 replies

Toadie's SmallArms and Animations for Arma3
13islucky replied to toadie2k's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
YEEAAHHH! OKAAAYY! Anyways, when you say "well hooked on Arma", does that mean that For Hire is on hiatus? Been following it for a few years, and it's always nice to know that it's still on. -
5.56 seems slightly nerfed. For me it's noticeable, but not particularly game breaking. Then again, due to UFS I can't tell how bad it really is Can't tell about the body armour, seeing as I barely use it (who needs it when you're 1.5km from the frontline? LBV ftw)
-
Hollywood? Without any irony I can tell you that it's fairly accurate to real life to have a man berate you constantly in training.
-
You know, at first I really liked it, since the only time I got it was when I was shot in the arms. I thought "oh cool", then I healed myself, laid down prone for a few minutes and it was still there. Not so cool anymore. I honestly don't even know if it's triggered by fatigue or not.
-
Could be AI-related. I'm guessing that it's much harder than it seems (or is feasible in a set amount of time) to implement having the AI react in different ways according to your uniform.
-
You know, you do have a partially misinformed opinion, if I may say. The lovely Futeboll picture on their twitter was just that. A picture. Not like they spent hundreds of man-hours setting up a football DLC or anything. Most likely done in Splendid cam. Karts was, again, not a big effort by the company "to appease the casuals" as some people seem to think it is. Just a model someone did in their free time. I never felt right criticizing someone for something they did in their free time, not sure how other people feel. Not like Zeus and optimisation really go hand in hand or anything, if I may say. Granted, Zeus does need quite some polishing, but your distress to such a feature citing "performance" reasons seems somewhat unreasonable. As for the DLC, I do find myself quite irritated by your stance on the matter. I'm confused as to why having the features (I understand to some extent when it comes to content) post-release is inherently worse that not having them at all because they came after release. I do believe that Expansions will not feature space ships, let us not forget the massive firestorm that came with the Railgun tank (I was quite looking forward to that one, honestly). If I may ask, when you say , are you implying that Altis and Stratis are similar to deserts? I would be quite insulted by that if I were the map designer, due to fact that they are fairly varied in my honest opinion.Heh, I just realized I wrote that whole thing like an English professor speaks, but it's too late now! No way in hell I'm rewriting all of that!
