Still having this issue. I can play about 10 minutes online before crash. It happens on every server I've tried, just like in the alpha. Specs: i7 920 @ 4ghz 7870XT Tahiti 6GB DDR3 2ghz

5.1 / Surround sound not working

Same issue. On my normal headset (not 5.1) I'm able to tell when someone's shooting behind me, while on my 5.1 speaker set, I cannot. -
GPU scaling when ingame - getting worse when hosting servers
MasterofNothing replied to MasterofNothing's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Thanks for the comments. The only clocking issues I have in other games, or furmark, is that the core goes from 975mhz (boost) to 925mhz constantly, which doesn't make a lot of difference. For now, I've created a profile in CCC and am using it in MSI Afterburner. If anyone's interested, here's some info: http://www.overclock.net/t/626295/5970-fan-control-with-2d-3d-profiles-in-msi-afterburner Edit: After some thought, I reverted to the latest non-beta drivers, and now the problem seems to be gone somehow without the fix that I posted above. In BF3 the clock stays at 975 mhz, in furmark it's the same and in Arma 3 SP (haven't tried hosting a server yet, or MP) it's fine too. Edit: Hosting works fine too. Clocks are stable now. Seems it was a driver issue. I should mention that I did a complete sweep of the drivers before reverting to the non-beta drivers. -
GPU scaling when ingame - getting worse when hosting servers
MasterofNothing posted a topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hello everyone. I've noticed that sometimes, my GPU will scale to 2D clocks when I'm playing Arma 3. This is a pretty minor issue when playing singleplayer or multiplayer as a client (it might even be 'normal', even though it's baffling it goes to slower clocks while ingame), but when I'm hosting a server and playing on it myself, truly all hell breaks loose: GPU load / temperature: http://imageshack.us/f/202/80608313.png/ GPU speeds: http://imageshack.us/f/405/78591816.png/ CPU use: http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/9960/naamloosej.png And this is what the game starts to look like during these 'episodes' http://imageshack.us/f/600/2013030800003.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/571/2013030800004.jpg/ Even with 0 players, the game starts running at ~5 fps (feels like 5 every 2 seconds), while it's completely playable when not hosting anything. Also, as seen above, the game starts looking like OPF. I didn't have this problem yesterday, until more than 15 players were on my server (then it started to become extremely choppy, while cpu load didn't increase, but I just figured my system wasn't fast enough). Now it's a guarantee. I'm running the latest (beta) drivers on the following machine: i7 920 @ 3,675ghz 6 GB DDR3 @ 1,75ghz AMD ATi 7870 XT JokerCard 2GB In any case, do you guys have some tips or ways to make sure my GPU runs constant clocks? Or would you, based on what I've posted, say that there is some other issue? Right now I can play the game fine as an MP client, but can't host and play at the same time. -
Works well. Thanks man.

Tutorial: Installation & Configuration of ArmA3 Dedicated Server

I'd like to know this as well. I can't run the game and the server at the same time, for obvious reasons (same .exe). -
Share your first Arma3 Beta Impressions (all first impression type posts here pls)

I think BI will fix the terrain textures (see this post). One of the things I've noticed is that the thermal imaging in one of the vehicles (the M-ATV if I remember correctly) is pretty much useless. If you're in the vehicle, and are in first person mode, it's very hard to actually see what you're aiming at. Also, you should be able to turn thermal off (now I sometimes see two M-ATVs in front of each other shooting, but missing, because they can't see the enemy vehicle). -
Also, in what region do you live Ax? Perhaps a few forum users would recommend you their own servers...

What computing system do you have for the Arma 3 Beta?
MasterofNothing replied to Yett71's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
i7 920 @ 3,675ghz 6GB tripple channel DDR3 @ 1,75ghz Asus P6T SE 7870 XT Jokercard (tahiti) Runs decently with everything maxed (sans post-processing and AA @ x2 but with FXAA max, full atoc, the rest as high as I could select, default view distances). Some sluggish gameplay when there are more than 5/7 vehicles on screen. Averages at about 50 fps, with very infrequent lows of 25/30. Also, I overclocked my i7 to 4,2ghz, but I didn't gain any noticable fps gains. Now, I didn't use a benchmark, so I can't be sure - but still if there are gains, it doesn't justify letting my cpu run hot. -
[Mission] Dynamic Zombie Sandbox Arma 3
MasterofNothing replied to Craig_VG's topic in ARMA 3 - USER MISSIONS
Nice! And this soon... I'm going to test it tomorrow. Hope it'll run decently on a non-dedicated server. In the past I've had some difficulty with that on Arma 2 (i7 @ 4 ghz + 16 players + me playing = 5 fps). -
I wouldn't be surprised if a number of dedicated servers (that are up ~24/7) emerge in the coming days that are quite stable, and can hold more people. Other than that, perhaps you'll find a good one now. If you do, just remember the name, and filter on that, so you can find it again.
