Hi, I remember playing an multiplayer mode whereby team A had to get to their furthest FOB where team B spawn nearby. And the game was all about team A trying to stop the advancement of team B to other FOB's What was it called? I remember it died off a bit many years ago so if it is not still a thing, if so what is the closest mode to that because i remember it was a lot of fun!?

So can you sneak past zombies in this mod, or do they aggro simply based on proximity?
-
Are the any mods where the zombies don't notice you if you're sneaking, crawling, or line of sight etc like the old dayz zombies? I have tried Ryans Zs, and ravage but its just a simple within x metres setting.
-
I can't seem to find any missions where you can kill those disgusting isis cretins? There should be tons of them surely? There's been nobody worth smacking more than them since the Nazis.
-
Huh, I just loaded A3 again and it didn't sound as tinny as I remembered. It didn't even sound that distorted. I dunno, Ill check again sometime. Maybe it was the mod I was playing. I had a look anyway and compared to another heli sample with the blackhawk. You'll notice (pic1) there is a relatively steep rolloff from 100hz, which indicates less bass, but to be fair the sample I compared it to was particularly bass heavy. Also you'll notice (pic2) the stereo width is pretty small with the a3 heli sounds.

lol, not one single person playing this game will be playing it through reference monitors, in an acoustically treated room specifically designed to give a neutral sound from 20hz-20khz. Even if they did you would hear the same thing.I actually do have nearfield monitors and I have been mixing and mastering sound for over a decade, and the obvious distortion and lack of bass which I described are caused by recording/processing. Obviously distortion cannot be caused by room conditions or speaker placement. speaker placement (very close to a wall) can cause a preponderance of bass but not a distinct lack. It just seems like you are trying for some reason to be pointlessly defensive, do you actually think the helicopter sound is great! Do you disagree that the low has been cut (if it was ever there), or that it is distorted? If I could be bothered I could literally show you the frequency spectrum graphically.

The helicopters sound very bad in my opinion. They used to sound okay I guess. But now they are just too distorted and the sound is all mid and high frequencies. There is no low end.

How Long And How Much Work To Build Future New Engine?
Sneakers O'Toole replied to infiltrator_2k's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
They need to make core refinements, it would make no sense to create a new engine from scratch. But It seems most of the personnel are artists not code guru's, i don't think they have the expertise. -
Arma 3 performance, what to upgrade?
Sneakers O'Toole replied to Oispakaljaa's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Like has been said, your rig is fine for 'normal' games. For Arma it would be pointless to upgrade the gpu as the game pretty much ignores it. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket then get the fastest quadcore on the market and some nitro cooling so u can clock it at 7ghz. -
13€ DLC, hefty price for 2 choppers
Sneakers O'Toole replied to TrueCruel's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Things evolve, the person who wrote the thread title probably was about 350 posts ago. If you'd actually bothered to read the thread most valid objections are about the fact that the dlc is 80-90% free so your only actually paying for a very small amount of content, and then subsidising people who don't pay. -
13€ DLC, hefty price for 2 choppers
Sneakers O'Toole replied to TrueCruel's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Try, if you will to apply just a few more brain cells, and perhaps you will realise that it's not about the price. And the engine clearly is not "fine". The 3,654 post thread on the issue should tell you plenty about it as you clearly have no idea. Pro tip: If you're going to argue a point, at least know what the point is. -
13€ DLC, hefty price for 2 choppers
Sneakers O'Toole replied to TrueCruel's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
A business model that relies on 'donations' is ridiculous. They are a corporate entity, the dlc is not value for money, I can have everything that someone who pays £10 gets, minus 2 helis for free. If you're going to sell something then it's better be value for money or 'your're gonna have a bad time.' -
I'm only a casual gamer and I won't be buying the dlc because there is almost no difference between buying the dlc and not buying the dlc. You still get all the features so why bother when I have all the other helicopters from a3 and a2?
-
BI probably have the words "Half" and "Arsed" in their mission statement.

Sneakers O'Toole replied to TrueCruel's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I'm sick of hearing this. Get a bigger team. Would you or anybody run a business with not enough people to sustain it? Don't make a product you can't actually make? -
dude, can you leave the thread please, as you only respond to fictional statements, that have nothing to do with anything anyone is saying. just... stop.
-
they must have like 0.5 of a man for the hardcore engine stuff and 50 people for artwork and soft engine stuff or w/e. so all they can do is the other 'changed helmet colour in whatever mission etc...' stuff. maybe they should have spent that 500k on a few more engine guys. I can't believe they have still never mentioned this problem in any meaningful way yet. The were going to do a blog, then they say we haven't got the time because we are so busy fixing the problem, lol.

Will we ever see a stable multiplayer running at 50-60 fps?
Sneakers O'Toole replied to Holden93's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
the future of hardware is increased parallel processing, not faster processing. Your point is only valid if processors are getting faster, to the tune of about 1.5ghz a year, which they aren't. -
Performance problems, a few questions.
Sneakers O'Toole replied to tyler2's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Pointless post Trouble-shooting is where scenarios are brought to light that stress the engine in particular ways to shed light on problems/innefficiencies. What are you looking for, besides displaying your rabid fanboyism, or what? -
I would like more enterable buildings as well, but unfortunately this seems like one of those things the dev's can't be arsed doing...

Magnon Entertainment Wasteland Server 100 Percent Stable
Sneakers O'Toole replied to ZoneTrooper's topic in ARMA 3 - MULTIPLAYER
21fps max every server i joined with 25% gpu usage. IN global chat it was the same for everyone. -
Well there is nobody like Dean Hall on the Arma team. They obviously prefer to keep building on a flawed base, rather than make the necessary tough decisions and sort out the fundamentals.
-
there is only 1 tarmac airfield/base, which takes care of blufor, and you could share it with independant But all that leaves is a few mud runways each with a single hangar. How is Oppfor going to take off in jets? needs another military airfield

I spoke too soon, my fps did drop to below 15 at the main airfield and at other places, but it was 40-60 in less built up areas. cpu: 60%-20%-20%-20% so Altis give 80% fps drops as opposed to the 50% fps drops of Stratis.
-
In Altis the frames are quite good (in empty editor), but I get a lot of stuttering which doesn't correspond to a drop in frame rate. I am using an ssd and -nologs.
