  1. RSO BUILDINGS PACK by RSO Creations RSO Creations are pleased to release their first addon to the arma community. This is a buildings pack which includes over 70 enterable middle eastern styled buildings. Over 70 different buildings, all enterable, walkable rooftops, walkable staircases. High rise buildings, shops, houses, apartment blocks, mosque, monumental archways plus many more. There will be additional buildings in the future, these will be added next year along with the misc items. Those include pavements, sign posts, walls, fences, gates, markets, plus much more. This can be used as an addon for mission makers and terrain makers within terrain builder, 2d editor, 3den, XCAM, Mapbuilder. If anyone uses this addon for a mission or new map please credit the RSO team on your releases. IMPORTANT! This release is just an alpha release. We wanted to get the buildings up to a playable state by xmas and we have managed to pull it off. It must be noted that there will be errors, some textures may not look complete. There are currently 2 buildings that you cannot get into at all. H5 and H8. These only have a geolod box around them due to time constraints. They will be added into the pack in future updates.     RSO Buildings pack

    You see the picture in my signature. That is the machloop V2 (well part of 30km^ map). I've been working on the sat map for NorthWales for the past 24hrs solidly even letting the Pc stay on over night and I'm still at it now in Photoshop. It's over 100km^ and its awesome to fly about on. I've even included the machloop again on this one, and put the airfield RAF valley where it should be on Anglesey. Not only that but there are 3 other airfields on it too. How can I be sure this isn't going to be a wasted effort and exploited by the thieves. It's funny actually, through all of this I haven't seen one word posted by BI on the IP protection of modders. Its like they just leave it to us to deal with anc chase down the fcuktards that rob your stuff.

    What to do, what to do, what to do?????????? about this mod! Last Warning, any more of redistribution without permission and I will remove the thread, the armaholic page and the RSO website. You may wonder why I say this as there is not really any info or movement on any of the latest reguarding RSO and any of the content that is on the RSO website. The website is still alive, I just altered the address slightly and only I have access to it. The content on the website has a pulse just not as regular as it used to be. I just chip away at the completion when I see fit. I'm not devoting time to something that is going to be exploited which I have just discovered has been with the RSO buildings. Someone name Lektar who runs with the 22nd virtual SAS decided he might upload RSO buildings for convience sake with his own mod pack, WITHOUT permission to the Steam workshop. So, last warning to EVERYONE, if you can't abide by the forum rules and the EULAs that modders have in place for their own IP protection, RSO will be put in room 101 and the key thrown away. I actually enjoy chippng away at my work and may, just may see a open RSO website with all the content available. I don't take to kindly to anyone TAKING THE FUCKING PISS! Get your permissions first! LIFERS don't even bother the answer is no.

    Nice to finally see this map released standalone. Can't wait to try it out with my new ACM cohorts. I'm currently working on large terrains myself.

    Max, I think the clue is in the price tbh. Anything free that is replicated is gunna be ripped content. I got ripped of by some russian, he sold me his predator on cgtrader. It was cheap but it was only when HG pointed out it the same he did to you. So we looked deeper.

    That's an option. There's also the predator mod for A2, that could be ported. But it's getting the permission. Don't mistake me max, I have loved this franchise for 30 odd years, I'd love to see it in Arma. It's just finding the correct legit way about it I think ya need to look at. By the looks of it, you fell in the same trap I did.

    True, but that has to have come from somewhere. That's where the problem would be. If it's ripped from a game like my predator model was, that's where the IP has been compromised. I'd like to see both aliens and predators in Arma 3, it was a good mod for A2, so why not. It's the source of the models you need to be careful of.

    Yeah fair point max, just pointing out there are alot of ripped models from that game. After doing abit of digging myself with a predator model I discovered 20th century fox do and will threaten lawsuits. I'm not saying stop your work, I'm not saying your doing a bad thing, I'm saying you might wanna be a bit careful with what you replicate. Enhance the game, engine, whatever your reason maybe? But don't be surprised if you receive some sort of finger wagging and frowning.

If BI decide to make an arma 4, they should consider a number of options that have plagued players modders and themselves for years, but like someone said earlier in the thread, A3 is here for a while yet. They could however shock everyone and announce something sooner than we think, but I'd say just be happy with what you have for now and don't set your expectations too high, you could be disappointed. I mod for my own personal enjoyment and I would love to see an improvement not only in the game itself but for the toolkits I have to put up with. Maybe slotting in more vbs tech into the current toolsuite would be nice, but I'm not holding out hope. ATM they have something that works and works well to produce the content we all play and produce.

    Yeah i understand, just pointing out that the skin on the xenomorph is more resistant than one shot. Take the scene in aliens where Vasquez and Gorman are in the tunnel before she blows with a nade. She has to fire a few shots even at the head before it has effect. You could put weak points on it, like the area between the clavicle or below the rib cage. But anywhere there is hard skin or vital organs protection should resemble the body armour of a default unit. These are tough mofos don't forget.

    How to get over the fear of talking?

    I myself have a condition called BPD. This for me has been a struggle for almost forty years. Along with this comes anxiety and depression. I've found it hard on so.e occasions to speak online, but I'm fortunate to be a little more confident with talking to strangers. There have been times I've joined groups and sat silent because of a fear I'd say the wrong thing or offend anyone, but one thing I learnt to do was take a deep breath and count. It's a feeling like standing on the edge of a cold swimming pool in winter. You know it's cold, you know it's gunna be a shock, but when you take that leap of faith the release from all that anxiety goes awayvin a matter of seconds after you realise you achieved a step forward. One thing humans have is a fight or flight response to anything they don't know about. Unfortunately for the OP it's slightly more stronger than the average Joe. Baby steps is a good way to look at it, crawl, walk, run as was mentioned by Fallujah medic. Get over that threshold slowly and you be painting the room red in no time as your confidence gets better and relationships are built. I will add though, I know humour is a good way to lighten the mood a denote it by emojis etc, but mental health is not really a laughing matter and online in this capacity it's hard to see which way things are taken. Please to all users try to have some respect for those afflicted or those giving support. You never know what affect your words have on a person with a mental illness. Triggers are prevalent and always will be.

    I did try running it with all the cup stuff too. But it crashed my game and I don't know where to start to fix anything with my limited knowledge on porting. But like I said you will not see a released version until I have been granted permission.

    I know that roadkill hence I'm hanging on to get his permission. I'm a modder too. You know that so despite what people say I can do I'm not releasing anything until he gives me the go ahead. Bart ya gunna have to wait. I either get his permission, which is a bit of a shortcut, or it is made from total scratch. That's the longer route.

    Apologies for my rant but after my debacle with the machloop, i felt very bitter. Still do in someways. This has been Kickstarted again. Myself and rebelman have begun working on some things again. All the buildings are now, not invisible to ai, textures tweaked and no blank faces, working through the doors on various high rises atm, 5 are complete. Working out what the bloody ai are doing on the pathing side of things. optimization still to do and various others like windows and damage models in the pipeline. I've messaged milkman to to ask if combining with jbad might be worth looking into. We have done a lot of ground work so I don't see why not??? Jury's out ATM.
