  1. Launcher doesn't generate any errors, the actual game crashes on startup, shortly after the Arma 3 logo with progressbar disappears.
  2. Arma crashes on launch after 1.68 update. Error message: "The exception unknown software exception (0xc06d007e) occurred in the application at location 0xfcf0a06d." Reinstalling didn't help, SFC didn't help, enabling/disabling BE, 64bit support didn't help either. I'm not running any mods.
  3. I'm running an Arma 3 server on a dedibox with Ubuntu 14.04 (Linux 3.13.0-71-generic x86_64). I followed installation instructions from BIKI. This is console output: http://pastebin.com/yrdTZA8Z Steam API returns: { "response": { "success": true, "servers": [ { "addr": "(dedibox ip):2303", "gmsindex": 65534, "appid": 107410, "gamedir": "Arma3", "region": -1, "secure": false, "lan": false, "gameport": 2302, "specport": 0 } ] }} I cannot find the server on the list and I cannot connect to it via direct ip.
  4. I've been working with a few friends on something quite unique - a documentary set in the Armaverse - A History of Chernarus. More interesting than one would expect. BIS did a pretty good job creating Chernarus and its backstory. We expanded it, spiced it up and turned into a script. The trailer (as well as the movie in the future) is in English with subtitles in three languages - English, German, Polish. Have a look: Thanks for watching. Foley
  5. Hi. I've recently made an ARMA2 machinima featuring the song 'Gallows Hill' by Josh Woodward. The Pitchfork Army is a story about Guerrilla fighting with Chedaki who took over Chernarus.

    Nicknames and clan tags protection

Right, nickname registration system as support for bans is an irrelevant argument. What I meant by talking about PID visibility is the fact, that everyone can verify every nickname/player ingame.

    Nicknames and clan tags protection

It seems to me, ArmA3 will be more popular than the ArmA2 now. It there are more players, then there are more public servers. I don't think protecting 'virtual image' is an edgecase problem. How would you feel, if somebody posted stuff on the forum posing as you? Voice coms? Really good stuff, but there is still many servers where it's not in use for some reason. Keep in mind this won't prevent players from changing nickname at all. It would just limit it. Yes of course. However we don't know if they will be visible for every player. And BTW, the idea of using real names. ArmA3 is going to be distributed all over the world. Can you imagine how difficult is pronuncing/typing some names?
  8. Hello! In ArmA2 one can really easly change his nickname without any limits. This is a problem, cause that means, one can pose as different player. Also one can add (steal) any clan tag to his name and pretend being a member of it. What's more, if sb has dynamic IP, then he is able to bypass every IP ban by changing the nickname. IMO the best solution to prevent this in ArmA3 is introduction of online nickname and clan registration system. The example of that kind of system is DPlogin.com (for an old game Digital Paint Paintball 2). If one wanna play on a server (which has nickname validation turned on), then he has to be registered and logged into the system ingame. Players can register by a website. They can choose there their main ID nickname, add a few more nicknames and choose/create a clan (clan members managment is included too). Additionally it's the best way to track players' global statistics including BE logs. So, dear developers and players, is it a good idea? Sorry for my English, I'm not native speaker.
  9. I've a question. Does being in possession of the license allowes to create a footage, which contains soundtrack from ARMA2, but doesn't contain actual gameplay?
  10. Nickname: Foley Location: Poland, CET (GMT +1) Communication: TS3 Mods: none Preferred roles: marksman, assault rifleman, chopper pilot/shooter Game: ARMA2 full w/o DLCs I wanna play tactical coops with team/clan. I'm playing A2 for half a year, so I know at least all the weapons and vehicles. Also I know how to play tactical, not to rush - expirience from airsoft and videogames like SWAT4. My spoken English isn't so fluent, so I'm looking for clan, where ppl can speak loud and clear. Contact: PM, xFire (mrtrollface)
