  1. ArmA 3 will be their last ArmA project for a while, once it's done. And yes, all these months after release we get a nice new feature for the newly developed PvP community. Next update after this: Wasteland becomes official.
  2. Catering to the recently developed PvP section and leaving everyone else in the dark is abandoning their original audience. It's fine that they add this, as long as they also add a 3D mission editor. My words about Day Z are the obvious truth, especially to anyone that has followed the mod since the beginning and witnessed the steady degradation of its community. Time will tell of BIS is really turning into a mainstream PvP studio, there's more than enough indication that this happening (taking a break from ArmA, lots of devs moving to Day Z development, lack of new noteworthy features in ArmA 3), and BIS wouldn't be the first studio to do this.
  3. Great question, seriously. People have been requesting this for the longest time. How about giving us a functional 3D editor, you know for the mission makers? The original, core ArmA fans that have been there since the beginning? Before BIS turned into a PvP studio as the result of kids overrunning Day Z. I'd hate to see another studio abandon their original audience.
  4. So now they removed shotguns and all but one jet? In addition to the removed campaign, removed disguise system, lack of a 3D editor, and lack of AI progress? ArmA 3 is going to have about as much content as ArmA 2 Free or OA demo. "Here guys, we slightly enhanced the core game for you. But you're going to have to make your own content, with a mostly unchanged editor! Oh and the game will cost much more than ArmA 2: Combined Operations x DDDD".

    Development Blog & Reveals

It doesn't really affect me, but it's puzzling. After all these delays, more content has been removed than what has been added. How does that work? - No campaign - No armory - No more disguise system - No 3D editor So it will have less content than ArmA 2? Okay, they added some stances and a stance modifier, improved the zeroing system, streamlined UI for the editor, improved optimization slightly. Small improvements and additions. AI still sucks. Come on... lol.

    Headbob

Doesn't look as realistic as ArmA 2's. That's all. :)

Voice Acting has got to go.

Voice acting has got to go? No... why would anyone want the old robotic voices back? Improved voice acting however, is welcome.

    ArmA 3 on Steamworks?

My thoughts exactly. The amount of uninformed people regarding Steam and Steamworks is just shocking. It's just typical, illogical stubbornness. That's how most old people are  "YOU CAN'T FORCE MY HAND" is the sadly the best argument I've seen, regarding ArmA 3 and its Steamworks usage. I prefer a more logical approach, and for this reason, I'm glad ArmA 3 will use Steamworks since it will only benefit the game.

Are you going to upgrade because of ARMA 3?

Not really cripple, but there's sad news indeed. http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=17263 Anyway, I already upgraded for ArmA 3. Got my GTX 680 so I should be all set.

    Better Accessory Support?

+1, I've had no issues whatsoever with my Logitech Extreme3D Pro.

Are you going to upgrade because of ARMA 3?

I'm definitely going to upgrade, but only my GPU. I'll swap out my GTX 480 for a GTX 680.

    Aiming Accuracy in Arma 3

I suppose harder overall. Take out the zoom when holding RMB. But as wipman said, guns are too jerky when walking and aiming, and I hate the feel of machine guns in ArmA 2. When aiming them it feels like there is a ton of mouse smoothing. They should just have increased sway due to their weight.

    What Mods Will You Expect/Create?

Yeah if sounds aren't improved much, I'd expect to see some new ones in ArmA 3. ACE 3 is pretty obvious, and apparently Day Z will be a standalone game/expansion on ArmA 3 engine. So all I'd want are weapon packs and new units probably, and a sound mod if needed.
  14. Seeing as how the Day Z mod is being made by a BIS employee, I'd like to see this made an official game mode in ArmA 3. That and an auto mod and map downloader are my biggest wishes.

New animations: What does it mean for gameplay?

ArmA 2's first person camera movement is the best I've seen, namely the head bobbing. It makes the game look the most realistic when in motion.

New animations: What does it mean for gameplay?

If trying to move in small inches, just use the walk button and you'll have no problems. As for your question, I guess we'll see in the community alpha or when the game releases. The aiming of ArmA 2 does feel a little awkward though, like there is a ton of mouse smoothing even when you have it disabled.

New anti-aliasing algorithm TXAA, Arma 3 potential?

Yeah Super sampling is not for extremely intensive games like ArmA.

Steamworks, add it in or not?

I just beg BIS to include an automatic mod downloader for ArmA 3. Steamworks for Steam workshop would be nice, but its easy to make do without it.

New anti-aliasing algorithm TXAA, Arma 3 potential?

I'm really curious what this TXAA will be about. If those performance penalties are true, then they'd be practically unnoticeable on modern video cards. Those are really high claims. Image quality like nothing we've ever seen? Better than OGSSAA and SGSSAA? I have my doubts about that but we'll see. I would like to see at least FXAA implemented into ArmA 3, since it improves performance over MSAA while not looking much worse. The blur filter it applies actually helps visuals in some cases.

    ArmA 3 System Requirements

I increased 3D resolution past 100% to try ArmA 2 at 15 FPS. Totally unbearable.

Steamworks, add it in or not?

Yes I looked at some. But I don't see Steam restricting any mod support - and if they add an ArmA 3 workshop (probably my top reason for wanting Steamworks integration), that will make it easier for people to get mods and update them (automatically updated). I've never had any problems with Steam auto-updating so that's great to have. Other than these points, all I saw were people stating that they simply want the choice whether or not to use Steam, and a bunch of people analyzing Steam's ToS which quite frankly seems completely irrelevant to me.

    Arma 3 lighting

Lighting already looks much better, and you can improve ArmA 2's dullness with a custom FXAA injector since they have adjustable exposure, bloom, and HDR. These don't fix a whole lot, but they do help. Call of Pripyat's lighting by default is nearly as dull as ArmA 2's.

    Foliage cover and drawing distance?

Anyway back to draw distance... ArmA 2 has the best terrain draw distance and a lovely draw distance slider. Now they just need to add a slider for vegetation draw distance and detail/texture draw distance so they can be equally good.

Steamworks, add it in or not?

Steamworks would be a huge benefit. Why are people voting no? "MAKE THINGS EASIER? NO THANKS!" Yeah so you have to make a Steam account and log in, that doesn't take long. Steamworks integration would only greatly improve ArmA 3's accessibility if they add a Workshop for it, and joining people in-game for coop would be much easier. And also, as the post above me lists, with ArmA 2 on Steam you do not even have to log into/run Steam in order to play it. If you put a shortcut on your desktop, you can just run it without using Steam. So you still have the option of not using Steam for whatever reason.

    Firefight Dynamics in ArmA 3

In other words, AI needs lots of work in combat (and in general). I agree.
