  1. You running any anti-virus software? If so, uninstall it completely, then try joining a server. GL, keep us posted.
  2. A trick i'm using is upping bass/cutting treble --much easier to hear the direction of gun fire. Helps having a graphic 8-band EQ, as with the razer synapse sound driver.
  3. Check your temps, really. A2 was the same way, hot cpu crashed mp play every time.
  4. With 16gig ram, a ram disk is an option.
  5. Have you looked at this thread?: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?170690-A3-Freeze-menu-logo-Steam-Workshop-problem Could try starting the game in $team off-line mode --just have your password ready to log back on.
  6. Right, nvidia ought to make that clear in the cp notes. A3 config does have the line: tripleBuffering=1; So i guess the engine does support t-buff.
  7. Got that distortion strip too. Guess no vsync til it's fixed.
  8. Vsync thing is odd. Maybe try 'vsync half-refresh rate' thru nvidia control panel, with T-buffer on. If it works, normal vsync/T-buff thru the cp will work too.
  9. 5 minutes in eh? Check your cpu temp? Might be a heat issue, dust-bunnies and such. Looked in your case lately? [Gamebooster3 also shows core temps too.]
  10. Maybe something simple. Did you reboot the pc after downloading? I'd say defrag too, but you got a ssd.
  11. Humm..., maybe set your power profile to 'performance'? Set a3.exe priority to high? Or even set it to low for testing. Could maybe d/l 'GameBooster3' --it stops un-needed progs & sets a power profile for gaming. Keep us posted, GL!
  12. Ah, so was your stick listed? So, i added throttle '-' to '+' on collective raise. Same throw for lift, but the '-' side works to decelerate the rate of drop nicely. ---------- Post added at 01:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:06 PM ---------- "Also for me collective raise/lower works better than analogue." Yeah, i got raise/lower on the 2 buttons under my thumb. I do run full analogue raise for nap of the earth flying for the speed rush. Gonna fool with incremental lift somemore. think it might be good for low-speed maneuvering.
  13. Just checked off-line. It does work. Can go to neutral hover with a positive lift vector. Very touchy tho even w/max dampening on the sensitivity. And it's only on the + side of the throttle, thur limiting the "throw" by half. Using a saitek evo. Gonna try tweaking it to increase the throw range. Also, dont see a need for 'collective lower' since it drops like a stone without + input. I'll get back to you...

    black screen crash

Could be a $team glitch. Can you try starting the game in 'off-line' steam option? Reference this thread: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?170690-A3-Freeze-menu-logo-Steam-Workshop-problem GL!
  15. Depends on the people..., and arma people tend to know alot of the basics already. Early days yet. As we learn the missions, and the system, squad leaders will step-up and leadership will win maps. This is PvP, winning matters; losing hurts. You will never get this from AI, never. The big missions are yet to be won --easy to lose. Hard to win. In time, these maps will be a place of epic Victories. Be a part of it. Join in, sign-up for events: http://www.tacticalbattlefield.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=919 Or just grab a rifle, join a squad and move towards the enemy. It's that easy and that hard --like playing the harmonica.
  16. Re-install DX? --look for 'setup' in the a3/dx folder and run it. ---------- Post added at 02:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:26 PM ---------- Oh, and reboot the pc.

  18. 3.4mhz is stock. Reason i asked is 'Core Speed 1596.3 MHz' shows a power saving profile. Change power profile to 'performance' and check core speed under load. It should read 3.4mhz.
  19. Been watching 'Combat!' on youtube:
  20. Let's be happy Bis is making money. The cash flow will only help the studio.
  21. Are you hitting 3.4ghz. (turbo) under load? "The Core i5-2400 is the spiritual successor to the quite popular Core i5-750. This mainstream quad-core processor features a default clock of 3.1Ghz, but it can Turbo Boost up to 3.4Ghz in lightly-threaded workloads. Much like the i5-2500K it does not support Hyper-Threading. However, unlike the aforementioned K-series chip, it does regrettably feature a locked CPU multiplier. Thankfully, Intel has thrown overclockers a bone, and have unlocked four additional Turbo multipliers above the highest Turbo frequency. As you will see in our overclocking section, this can be used to worthwhile effect in coordination with the base clock (BCLK)." http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/44339-intel-core-i3-2120-core-i5-2400-lga1155-processors-review.html And, "Turbo multipliers" sound like you can exceed 3.4ghz. stock.

    Stance to analog axis?

I use a js, saitek. Got simple up/down key presses at both ends of the twisty. Got macros on the X-axis: Left stance/left lean ~ on release normal stance ~ Right stance/right lean. Can do anything with well thought out macros. Also got R/L lean on rudder pedals --full range lean, very precise.
  23. For offline, go to steam library, click the steam tab, upper left corner, drop-down will give the offline option. Same to go online again. Log on will ask for your password, so have that ready. GL!
  24. Followed the OPs instructions.., working now. Bye-Bye workshop content. Thanks Jon, you're the Man.
