Hey, sorry if this has been stated/discussed. But someone said that we are getting Lemnos in the Dev Branch earlier... is that still the current state? Or is it 100% coming only in full-release, for everyone at the same time?

How many modders will only stay with arma 2? And not start modding for arma 3?
Brain replied to SAMstudios-3Dartist's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Please, give me some of your consciousness-expanding drugs, I'm still stuck up at work. :D The engine is the (nearly) the same, IMO A3 needs at least as much as performance as A2 ATM on most rigs and the AI is worse than in Don't get me wrong, BI did an awesome job and the AI, compared to any other game/sim is still genius, but there are often situations that kill immersion and give you stomach aches of laughing. -

MBG WoO Mod port for Arma 3, wanna give it an attempt with me?
Brain replied to zachgibson22's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I don't see the problem. He said, for now it's personal use. He also said, it states in the manual, that he encourages everyone to use/convert it to a different mod/compilation. He also said if it works out, he'll ask him. -
Aaaaaaaaaah yissssss!! Testing it soon, looks awesome!!!

I can recall a comment/post that it's currently just placeholder and Persian is already reserved in the configs. Not sure about greek, though.

Awesome! Keep it up!

It's funny what the days of constant DLCs and no-modding-policies in most of the games/publishers bring to daylight. The size of cities in maps is not so much limited. Not so much as in: a) at some point you get performance issues. IMO ArmA has never been excellent at handling many buildings accesable and even with furniture in it. Especially not if they are destroyed. b) Time. If you don't want to C&P every building you are limited to your time. At some point you may lose motivation. c) ArmA, not such much A3 but the games before, had very clumpy movement in close areas, and made more fun in open areas. Maps where 90% of the space is making your movement clumpy will take away the fun playing IMO. d) BI has limited time and has to create a mix of creating many features and areas, have a mix between quality and quantity and keep an eye on the time. So you won't see Detroit in A3 Vanilla. Maybe you can buy it in real-life, soon. For A2, there are many maps with huge cities. Emita City, Fallujah and the PMC Map (which is insanely big, but I guess more of a proof of concept than a beautiful city). I don't count Elektro or Cherno as big cities. They are not really big. Also, there are many tutorials out there on how to create maps. It's still hard, but a good start and huge CQB-maps with many enterable buildings always were not as popular as Afghanistan Map No. 12432 somehow.

From the stuff seen so far, it looks nice. I'm going to get it, after a long day at work & gym and practice I cant focus enough to play ArmA for 3 hours (1 of them gearing up and briefing).

Didn't get the chance to download and play so far... I heard they have new maps which are way bigger than the old?

I just looked at all pictures in your stream and got to say again, besides GSC you are the one who creates the best STALKERish Atmosphere. It's just stunning, keep up like that and I end up naming my first son after you. Or Strelok. -

Smookie is, indeed. Reezo (who did a lot of scripting for it, as I remember) is working in an ArmA-unrelated-business and has barely no time to even look at ArmA. It sure is, but you did an awesome job and since BI Devs are even responding here and support, I'm sure they took some notes ;) BI can be happy to have such an awesome Community. In time of arcade, console, DLCs and DRM, communities like these have grown rare.
