TPW MODS: enhanced realism and immersion for Arma 3 SP.
Artyom replied to tpw's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I don't know why but the dog bark SFX is glitched. The dog bark SFX play whenever I move. The faster I move, the louder it gets. It doesn't matter where I am. I've tried disabling animals, editing the PBO/config files but it persists. Stable branch and installed the mod through PlayWithSix. Any ideas? EDIT: Deleted all the dog.ogg sound files and it seems to be working fine, the sound was obnoxious- 5767 replies

After hamming my way through the new showcase, I realised locking targets with jets is incredibly inconsistent for me. Some times it won't target at all, sometimes it targets from miles out, sometimes it won't target until you're right over and then immediately lose sight. I tried adjusting speed, wing level etc and the only almost consistent method I have is to locate a target visually, return the nose to the horizon then it targets below the nose. Sometimes it works, sometimes it still doesn't. Does an A/C have to be level with the horizon to lock ground targets?
-
That is inconsistent for me, as I said I could do two runs one after the other with identical ingresses on the target Run 1 it will lock Run 2 it won't lock It's weird.

Apples vs oranges Go. Games are reviewed and scored respective to what they are trying to achieve. -

Crysis 1 natively supported the Xbox 360 controller LONG before there were ever plans to port it to the 360. It even had a graphic of the controller. -

Make squad enter Scorcher Tell them to 'stop' Open Map Point at target with mouse Select the AI gunner (F2, F3 whatever it will be) without moving mouse Press 'Fire artillery' He will fire on the target if it's the correct distance -

13.10 BETA and CrossFire here, no such issue Memory usage is around 700mb lower on my end, magic.

There's unreadable text underneath that as well, I think it's just a bug.

Buzzard turning slightly right on take off
Artyom replied to dezkit's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
As above, this is completely expected behaviour due to unequal weight distribution [presumably caused by the weapons mounting config in this situation]. Also happens to commercial jets in some circumstances, again due to weight distribution and other variables. -
CCIP bro. Even with a -45 AOA slow ingress the bomb misses. I know total air sim isn't the goal, but basic CCIP CR would be nice alongside laser deg. GBU-12, 2 AA variants I believe and HE cannon. On a CAS aircraft. The only difference from the AA config is the GBU-12s, which really limits its capabilities for ground attack. I'm not familar with the real world counterpart, but I can't imagine it's that useful with this loadout (comparatively). Then again it's for an independent faction right? So it kind of makes sense that they have a somewhat crappy loadout. I'm assuming the artificial aimpoint is the correct targeting icon for bombs (gun pipper is seperate), so if you're like me and you don't like playing with the crosshair turned on, how am I supposed to aim when the HUD doesn't correspond at all to any of the aimpoints? Even the artificial gun reticle is different to the HUD.
-
How on earth do you accurately aim GBU-12s with this jet? No matter what reticle or aimpoint I use on the HUD, the bombs fall short. I'm more used to the DCS A-10 aiming, which is you know...usable.

Maybe he's a 4th Echelon Operative undercover!?

Not at all, the folder names are for sorting purposes only and have no bearing on the applications. The memory usage is purely application dependant.

Definitely getting the same stutter you describe with the second card switched off, which does not happen with Xfire enabled regardless of whether v-sync is enabled. Obviously there isn't too much being rendered here, but 60fps is still capable. I'll just limit the framerate externally and see how it works with Xfire enabled again. http://i.imgur.com/Heetl0x.jpg (425 kB) Also, did the Ghosthawk default FOV get pulled back a little? Seems wider.

I was having bad frame rates, turns out V-Sync locks FPS to 30. Turning off vsync = 60-62fps on Ultra settings with Altis. Where do I fix the V-Sync rate? My Arma3.cfg is set to 'refresh=60;', yet it's locking to 30fps like a jebby little munge. Also just remembered I had CrossFire switched off (Splinter Cell: Blacklist does not like CrossFire at all), and still managed 60fps on Altis for the most part (obviously lots of buildings drops it to around 45fps untill I reduce FXAA - was running 4x FXAA + SweetFX sharpening and colour enhancement). Weird how that works for me but not for other people. i5 2500k @ 4.2GHz 16GB RAM 2x AMD HD7870 2GB in CrossFire

Nvidia CP: 16x Anisotropic --See a improvement?
Artyom replied to ratszo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Doesn't the resolution also factor in? At higher resolutions I'd assume you need less AF, it's certainly true for Anti-Aliasing. Downsampling is a pretty cool guy. I once played Crysis 1 at 5760x3240 on a 1080p single display, it looked incredible but ran at around 0.25FPS. -
