Are you guys trying to fix your engine limitations or are you simply trying to work around them (the recent OPREP mentioned new technologies needed to fully realize proper soldier protection and such)? -

So, what, are you saying that nothing can be done for Arma 3's performance issues? Because, while others may be arguing for switching engines, I fail to see how their performance issues affect Arma 3's performance issues. -

Ok, does anyone have a problem commanding AI to stand up? I thought, at first, that it might have been a problem with ALiVE or bcombat. But, disabling bcombat, and testing an editor mission without ALiVE modules, I'm still having a problem telling AI to stand up. They'll listen if I tell them to crouch or go prone, but then when I tell them to stand up, they simply don't listen. They'll switch between crouch and prone, but won't stand up at all. Noticed this the past 2 days. -

Well, ponds still show up for me on Takistan at least. No waterline problem never, never has been, but ponds still show up. I only see the issue on custom maps, but they might have their own pond p3ds. -

Google is your friend... it's a part of AiA. And it's not a quick fix solution as it makes a copy of modified pbos to replace the pond object with an empty model, apparently. -

These are my sentiments as well. They're making progress by starting these new OPREPs and acknowledging that there are limitations. But now we need to see them actually working to fix these underlying issues with the engine. Good that the OPREP was on soldier protection, but I'd rather a focus (if there is any diverting of focus) be on performance first (and, more particularly, vegetation/trees, AI, and ballistics), then on the finer aspects of the simulation. Because, again, none of it matters to the player if performance isn't "optimal". AI and trees first, as at least for me, that's what causes the most performance issues. Then ballistics I assume, because FPS drops by 10 every time I fire more than one shot. -
Sounds more like a Standalone Expansion Pack featuring a new terrain, kinda like OA.

Why would the FIA have armor? They should be weaker than the Takistani Army. A rebel faction like theirs, with a culture where civilians aren't accustomed to carrying guns and other military hardware, wouldn't just have access to tanks and stuff. Now, if they'd actually stuck to their original idea and had a local resistance made up of former Hellenic Armed Forces soldiers and officers, THEN we'd have more plausibility for FIA tanks and helicopters. -

Uh, maybe that's the case in Finland, but in the US, which is the only thing that matters (since the NATO forces in the game are US 7th ID), the only thing you're really allowed to "customize"/personalize are gloves, boots, and the layout of the pouches on your vest. You wear the same standard issued body armor. You wear the same helmet. Hence why it's called "uniform". That said, the NATO forces in the game would look a whole lot more like regular infantry if the plain helmets had a MTP (really Multicam) helmet cover texture instead of being plain helmets, and if the vests were also in the same camo pattern. ---------- Post added at 02:41 ---------- Previous post was at 02:39 ---------- 1) Chill out. 2) So what if the "futuristic" aircraft have double fins? It's set in 2035. It's a design choice. If Mil came out with a helicopter with double fins today, you wouldn't be complaining, or maybe you would because you think it's ugly. Nor should BI design their game with your contemporary reskins in mind. ---------- Post added at 02:52 ---------- Previous post was at 02:41 ---------- Well, the helmet looks kinda like Revision's Batlskin Cobra helmet with side rails. The FAST, as in OPS-CORE FAST, helmet is the ECH lite. I think they need to have an A3 MTP (really, Multicam) helmet cover. Then they'd look like regular infantry. The Special Forces ECH (originally the standard one) is appropriate if the US 7th ID were really Rangers.

Yeah it shouldn't. But given that this mod takes it's code directly from AiA, of course there's unit config stuff in there. Not my place to say what priorities should be, but I'd think that getting rid of this extra crap in the code would be one of the top issues to tackle, more important that trying to fix this pond issue (not sure it can be fixed without editing the wrp files).
