Are you using v-sync?
-
Couldn't agree more!
-
Crashing here as well, my squad mates experience crashes too.
-
The reason I asked that question is because it can indicate that servers might be the ones that are causing the performance problems, not the game itself. Depending on the game mode you are playing, it can be quite difficult to find a server that will run ok. I'm not saying that the game doesn't have a problem of it's own regarding performance, it does, but I blamed the game only as well until I found a decent server running Invade&Annex which ran as good as SP, leading me to conclusion that most of the other servers out there are simply crap.
-
How is your performance in single player?
-
I use MP view distance sliders (if they're even available) only if I'm not satisfied with server defaults. I've found that autodetect in options sets 3800/3200, which is fine for me and gives me nice and steady framerates in SP scenarios avg. at 45. MP on the other hand is a tricky one, first of all, it depends a lot on the server... Let's take Invade & Annex for example, I've found like 1 or 2 servers that give me good framerate with setting of 3800 (it still uses 3200 for objects), but even those tend to give me nasty drops from time to time. That's when I use MP mission sliders (it overrides view distance setting in options) to increase/drop view distance until satisfied with framerate vs. visuals. Hardware: 3770K @4.4GHz GTX670 16GB SSD

Performance Improvement Multiplayer: from 15 to 30 fps
Minoza replied to ProbeEtPylon's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
That's what I found funniest in those performance improvement threads where people give instructions on how to improve processing without even knowing what does what. -
2 Things, 1, is this really the final game? 2. Basic questions.
Minoza replied to Prkr5885's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
More jets will be added, campaign as well. BIS is known for releasing games in semi-finished states, you can expect to get more stuff over time. Arma doesn't rely on "maps", instead, there's one huge island, Altis which is, well, huge and it's terrain varies meaning you basically get different "maps" in one big island. -
Obiously a lot of new stuff is in the game, you can't really judge it on one video. There's a lot of info out there on what's new, if you take a moment I'm sure you'll have no problem finding that info.

Wasteland Arma 3 Singleplayer?
Minoza replied to CommuneCode's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Can't you just use MP mission in local session? -
People are complaining because of missing official content.

It is perfectly ok for people to complain when it's justified and backed with suggestions on how to improve. You can't expect community doing developers work.

Tactical Battlefield - A PvP Gameplay Modification
Minoza replied to dale's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Been playing with you guys few times! I've said it then and I can say it again - this is exactly what's needed! Intuitive, easy to learn, rewarding and encouraging teamplay PvP scenarios. Thank you! -
So, as a solution to bad design decisions you propose playing BF instead? I sure hope that BI doesn't share your attitude. You'll probably understand why not everyone is too happy about their online experience being solely in hands of random mission designers.
-
+1 just saw that, it's amazing!

We're not really talking about personal specifications here, we're talking about structured MP game modes that are missing, no SP campaign either (coming post release). We're left with showcases for release and once again, community to the rescue story.

Arma 3 Benny CTI : How Arma is meant to be played
Minoza replied to spanishsurfer's topic in ARMA 3 - MULTIPLAYER
If someone uploaded his stuff on workshop without his approval he should be contacting Steam in that regards. -
Complex and bad design is not the same. I am not really new to Arma series, been through it 3 times now, I didn't get a chance to play OFP though. You answered yourself actually, yes, we expect to pick up and play, what is wrong about it? Arma isn't that kind of game, I agree again, but it should and it could be! It doesn't have to be any less complex but it has to get rid of bad design decisions. No, people do not only give up because it is complex, but because the way you learn it and get to play is made more complex than it should be. There are some great suggestions and rather simple solutions out there (I even named few) which would turn it into a lot better game. Look at it like this, if you're exprienced Arma player, you wont have much trouble anyways, you know what to expect, but if you're a new player, the game isn't really making it easy for you even in places where it could thus getting you frustrated before you could even get the experience. I can understand that bunch of Arma fans are ok with accepting bad design decisions because there are alternatives in terms of mods and they love the game so much, I love it too, but after A1, A2 and now A3, I'm a bit frustrated and disappointed to see same bad design decisions making it into the game.
-
So I guess you will teach all the new players how to play it? Don't you think that the game itself should point player in some direction which leads to fun experience? Of course, this leads us to what I've said before, you can't have one without the other.

Agree with OP. Ability to "ultra" out the game can stay for future, but current presets aren't good, and autodetect isn't doing good job either. No you are not, maybe in editor on an empty map. I have similar setup, i7 3770 OCed at 4.4GHz, and factory OC GTX670, with Ultra preset (autodetect) game gets uplayable in a typical scenario and don't even get me started on MP performance...

I feel your pain. I bought Arma 3 with high hopes that things will change for good when it comes to public gaming. Unfortunately it is still the same as with Arma 2, but the issue is not the public gaming itself, but exactly a lack of structure. Issues range from MP browser over squad and loadout managment to the missions which reward lonewolfing, encourage respawn/teleport etc... If game fails in all these areas, you can't expect public gaming to be any good, and it isn't, just like it wasn't in Arma 2.

Well I keep hearing nothing has changed regarding yaw but I'm telling you it did change for me. Littlebird is much slower (almost double) then it was before when it comes to yaw, feels very unresponsive.

Can we get some screens or video to see it in action? edit Nvm. just read in another topic that it basically looks the same as before minus the splashes.
