http://dev-heaven.net/projects/list_files/mikero-pbodll - get the latest Eliteness - get the latest depbo.dll - get the latest derapify Open Eliteness and set in the options to dererapify automaticly. -

Heh don't u love the way Vista preloads setups which require administrator rights :/ I suggest disabling UAC or start the exe from a command box (with full admin rights). U can also try the YAS method of downloading it's pretty neat for checking updates to. -

Ok i updated my last mission set and polished them abit.. the result... http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1422736#post1422736 Please give some feedback about those after u played them, thanks :) Making some decent progress on the A1 campaign. Biggest issues to overcome still is the AI on roads (game breaking for some missions) and probably need to rewrite how the previous mission state is saved. The rest is working pretty nicely already. Could always use some extra help with betatesting the campaign, finetune missions for MicroAI and assisting with script issues. Feel free to drop by the OAC spot @ devheaven to sign up :) -

Yep stock ArmA mission have a habit of not working correctly. But with a little bit of finetuning they will work very nice. I 'converted' most A1 scenarios which should work without any major problem. Not realy sure whats BIS policy about 'converting' missions/campaigns. Still OFP content was converted to A1 so i think it's not a real issue. If i get clearance i'll post a link ;) -

Download the Official ArmA editing Tools theres a program in it called BinPbo which basicly converts a directory to a pbo file. -

Well RAM is cheap and if u have alrdy enough i can't see why u should get worse performance. It's actualy a decent idea to identify the bottleneck in ArmA's performance, although i doubt it is HDD IO speeds. -
I have a problem with 1.14 not running properly (ATI + big mem), which is resolved in 1.16 beta. So I basicly can't play ArmA online because all servers run 1.14. Offline it isn't a problem ofcourse. For that reason I can see why people want a final 1.16. So I can see the pain some people must have. Then again I have A2 to and preferably i would like the developers to work on that more.

U only need to defrag Arma after u patch the game. The gamedata itself is static so no need to defrag arma each day ;) -

Try some proper COOP missions maybe? CTI and clones just promote solo rambo gameplay above teambased action. -

I'm using contig.exe as defrag tool very efficient tool to defrag just the files i need. No need to defrag a complete hdd. on a note i suggest everyone having performance issues after 1.03 to check it. had loads of fragmented diles after i upgraded. -
I wouldnt want it for ArmA my self. They whole point of these games is that u don't play a static camera 'eye'. U have the ability to turn your head so if u want to check which stance.. look at your aimpoint movement (thats instant and it works for me) or bind freelook on easy to access key and just look down. No need to distract me with more info on my screen.

animation.. When playing in veteran mode (for example) and manual adjusting the arperture, I would like to see a little animation, lets say for example a salute. Which basicly makes it impossible to shoot right away. U will have to wait till the animation is finished to return to the combat ready modus. (much like reloading a gun). Im still looking for a good animation reference so i can put something in which looks realistic. I understand i can use both addons to achieve it but preferably i have one NV goggle addon which deals with both issues. Like i said its just a little bit of experimenting with the script language. -

I changed it myself so it initialy is on manual with a value defined in the config. Works great and needed 2 lines of code. Im new to arma2 scripting and I want to modify/finetune this mod abit, so i can learn how to do this. I hope u wont mind, not releasing it tho. If im done with my wishlist is done ill let u know so u can implement them or laugh at my scripting skills :) things im gonna try todo - manual arperture value from config file (done) - When playing on a higher setting then regular i want a nice animation which represents the manual adjusting of the nv goggle, or atleast a little 'pause' so u cant shoot while adjusting the goggles. (WIP) - Remove the overlay when switched to 3rd person or commannder view (WIP) Ill keep u updated :) -

Great mod but one suggestion to improve it. Could u add a default arperture value parameter in the S_NVG.hpp file. By default it kicks in just abit to high, personaly i find 7,5-8,5 the best. This way u get a good initial setting and can adjust it later if it needs situational adjustments. -
a tip if u want to solve it with 1.16 beta. Check the shortcut.. %path-to-arma%\arma.exe -mod=beta doesnt work %path-to-arma%\beta\arma.exe does I had some issues with it atleast

Ok had this problem and i think it has something todo with large mem configs on Vista. Their are several methods to solve it. Easiest is to get the 1.16 beta patch, it will work straight away but u cant join public mp servers. Physicaly or configure Vista to remove the RAM so u wont have more then 2g of it. Dont recall the switch for Vista but there are loads of threads here which describes howto. Add a "-window" parameter to the shortcut u start Arma with. These should fix them easy enough.. good luck

I cant play ArmA 1.14 anymore due to vista/ati/large mem problems but i cant seem to startup CWR with either 1.15b or 1.16b? Anyone knows a fix, would love to play the resistance campaign again- 607 replies
