Call of Duty 7: Black Ops Trailer...

Oh, and the matchmaking allows for a whole new level of griefing. Passing the vote to change maps just before the round starts, disconnecting just before the round starts to restart the countdown, or quitting at the start of the round when you know you're the host to throw it into host migration (which only 50% of the time works...). Matchmaking. Sucks.

What is the point of BattlEye?

That's unfortunately very true. I'd imagine most of them are from the very pits of /b/... Anyways, I guess since the discussion of hacking is breaking the rules here we should end by saying BattlEye nor any other anti-cheat program will ever be able to provide 100% protection against hacking, but do a pretty damn good job overall. ;)
  4. ArmA didn't get as much performance optimizing as Arma 2 has so far, yet when I got my new right 3 years after the game was released, I easily broke the 100 FPS mark on full graphics settings (3500m view distance). I think BIS' slogan should be: Give technology a few years. :p

    I find it unique. :p
  6. Damn! This looks incredibly promising and kicks ass! Really wish I had access to my PC. :(

Arma 2 OA English Language Pack?

Nope, there isn't one (that I know of at least, please prove me wrong if there is). If you are unable to change the language to English in-game, then the only legal way to acquire it is to buy a version that supports English, sadly.

What is the point of BattlEye?

To help fight against cheating adolescents (or adults who act like adolescents, which tend to be their "leaders"...). ;) Unfortunately, BattlEye's reach is only for external hacks I believe. The hacks in question are probably done using BIS' games' complex and flexible scripting. I wouldn't worry too much, these assholes tend to get bored in a few months and move on to the next new and shiny commodity. It's been the same way with all of BIS' games.

    way age thing in website?

I was incredibly naive in putting my real age when I created my YouTube account. Freakin' retarded, in fact... To be honest I've seen way more f*cked up shit on the internet than an 18+ video game. It is the internet after all. In fact I'd go as far to say that if you aren't able to deal with seeing that crap (you might not like seeing it, of course, like the sane person you surely are, but what I mean is you don't go apeshit) you shouldn't be using the internet in the first place. :p Oh well, only 5 more months. ;)

Call of Duty 7: Black Ops Trailer...

Unfortunately both the campaign and MP are sub-par. The MP is unbalanced to hell and chocked full of incredibly overpowered killstreaks, deathstreaks, perks, weapons... The campaign also makes zero sense and has many plotholes, but it's still fun enough to play through on each difficulty. Basically MW2 is the product of trying to do everything bigger and better than Call of Duty 4. That's to be expected from a sequel, but it's a fine line they had to walk, and they ended up stepping way over that. Apparently that can be attributed to Activision playing too large of a part in the game's development. *cough*Kotick*cough* I'd recommend sticking to COD4. At least it doesn't cost $60, and is a much more fun and polished experience. If you're willing to shell out $60 for both a campaign and multiplayer that is all around worse than COD4's, then by all means do so. I still enjoy MW2, but it is no where near as good as I had hoped it to be after COD4. Plus they treated their PC fanbase like shit (console port, no dedicated servers, no modding)... I've gotten "Lost connection to host" and "Game lobby closed" much more than I have actually played. Most of the players are retarded also, but thankfully there's a Mute All button.
  11. We all work at our own pace with no deadlines. These projects are not our jobs. Same goes for CWR2. ;)
  12. The magazine was the Official Xbox 360 Magazine. No surprise they find it realistic. Yo dawg I heard you like realism so I put a tactical FPS in your simulator...
  13. Probably. I never saw it myself, was just going off of what I had heard. Haven't heard anyone say you are still Marines yet, until you. :p
  14. I'm not wrong in the sense that it's impossible to run either Arma 2 or OA on max everything. It is simply impossible with current hardware unless you go batshit crazy with it.

    Zipper5's Missions

Thanks guys. You might see some more, definitely better SP missions from me in the future before I finish Blood On The Sand.
  16. Arma 2 or OA at full settings, full view distance and full fillrate is impossible. No hardware in existance right now can run it. Even running OFP at full view distance with terrain detail on very high (really looks like shit, though...) isn't playable.
  17. And why the CH53 when you're US Army? Or have they gone back to the Marines? Or are they going the way of MW2? US Army General supposedly in command of 30,000 Marines...
  18. LMAO, set game types. Bye bye mission editor. Oh, and the last picture: "You're a marine, not a pilot." Not only is Marine uncapitalized, but you play as the US Army in Red River. Gotta love press releases... My opinion - still looks and sounds worse than DR, which is an impressive feat which deserves notation in itself.

I imagine it's main purpose is to avoid lawsuits. People will sue for anything nowadays. It can get annoying, but oh well.
  20. Resistance had higher system requirements due to multiple graphics upgrades (generally, higher res textures) I believe.

Call of Duty 7: Black Ops Trailer...

It's completely understandable after MW2 for people to not give a shit about the Call of Duty franchise anymore, especially on a forum dedicated to a game that is PC only. PC users were treated easily the worst out of all MW2 customers, and the PC version of the game had no PC-specific features outside of the ability to use text chat and change graphics settings. There was a nuclear aftermath-type mission in GR? I don't recall it...
  22. Still had to be scaled back; couldn't have just been for no reason.
  23. Hey! They stole my idea I had way back! Celery asked me if it was possible to attach a machine gun to a crow before he got Arma 2, but I misread crow as cow. So I used attachTo to attach a Dshkm to the top of a cow and sent him a picture. Epic facepalms ensued. :p
  24. Lol, you're simply spouting bullshit. OFP: Elite was heavily scaled back for it to work on the Xbox. The textures were more realistic, but instead of being 512x512 in OFP they were scaled back to 256x256. View distance was also limited to 250m, whereas OFP's default was 500m, and could go up to 5,000m. If I recall correctly, the entity limit was lower, but that could be bypassed by making the mission on the PC and transfering it to the Xbox itself. Of course you could increase these as technology improved, as well as use DXDLL to get 1024x1024 textures, reflective water, or bloom, but that wasn't possible with the Xbox. So no, the Xbox was well below the hardware spec of PCs that OFP was designed for, just like the Xbox 360 is well below the hardware spec of PCs that Arma 2 and OA were designed for. Minimum requirements mean minimum specs to run the game on the lowest possible settings, i.e. looking ugly, to which is not something good for a console market with all the graphics whores. Rarely do systems meeting the recommended spec still perform or look good enough.
  25. No, I don't consider many of the popular mainstream "artists" today to be serious musicians. :p I also don't consider Codemasters a serious developer.
