You must delusional or ill-informed if you think the level of religious fanaticism of Israel and Hamas are even remotely close. Israel is a parliamentary democracy, with a currently mostly right-wing secular government (which I strongly object). It's even the first time in years that the Jewish orthodox are not in the government. Hamas is a theocratic fundamentalist Islamic organization that rules with the sharia, the Islamic law. This is nonsense. I served in the IDF for years and was never taught to hate our enemy. Of course there are undisciplined soldiers as in any Army but Israeli soldiers are educated on ethics and "pureness of arms" (with lack of any similar English term that I know of). Soldiers are encouraged to not follow orders that are illegal, and are protected by law if they don't. There are extremist in Israel too, but they are not who sets the tone here.

How can you estimate all the variables that are calculated into the collateral damage ratio? What expertise do you bring with you that allows you even to form such a bold statement? Have you ever looked into typical collateral damage of other nations at asymmetrical wars? you will be surprised that Israel has the highest ratio between combatants vs. civilians killing. This is just the "Israel is evil propaganda" talking out of your keyboard. But whatever, what's your argument? Israel is deliberately targeting civilians? Is it plain negligence? If that's what you think please explain the motive here. Moral obligation aside (I suppose you don't think highly of Israel in this regard however it IS a strong factor) it is clear that the death of any civilian is against the Israeli interest, limiting its response, limiting the legitimacy of its retaliation, limiting the time frame in which it can act, so why would it even want that? Or are we at the Israel is evil argument indeed?

Mission Dependency on AI == AWFUL User Experience
Variable replied to ssimmons's topic in ARMA 3 - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
However, AI is omniscient regarding other AI in its group. If you group together AI, they will know one of their squad mate died even if he's on the other side of the island. It's an old bug that renders most stealth approaches impossible unless the mission was specifically designed with ungrouped AI to workaround the problem (and by that creating a whole different range of problems). -
What can Israel gain by targeting civilians? Civilians are killed because Hamas is deliberately launching from heavy populated areas. Do you expect Israel not to defend itself because Hamas is using human shields? Attacks are being called off when there's danger to civilians, IDF has a history of endangering its own troops just to avoid civilian casualties. Israel and Hamas are not using the same strategy because Hamas intentionally and deliberately tries to murder civilians while the IDF attempts to hit military targets and any civilian casualty, although unfortunate, is a side-effect of of this attempt. There's a huge difference. And now you are complaining that the IDF gives a head start to its enemy and warns them to evacuate an area that is about to get hit? This is done to limit civilian casualties. Hamas is firing rockets on Israeli settlements for more than a decade, you don't hear about it in the news, you hear only when Israel has had it and retaliates periodically to produce a new status quo. ---------- Post added at 16:36 ---------- Previous post was at 16:35 ----------

Unfortunately, JSRS and SOS are about to get broken in the next official update, and they are not supported any more by their authors...
-
Not just you. The terrains that got ported look much better in the Arma 2 engine, something in the colours is broken.
-
Yes, it can refuel on fuel stations, too. I say either use the designator batteries, or have each disassemble count as a battery change?
-
Well, so I guess Israel just need to tolerate rockets fired on its citizens and not retaliate against rocket launchers and ammo stores and Hamas leaders because Gaza is densely populated. How convenient.

Task Force Arrowhead Radio for ArmA-II CO
Variable replied to levrex's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Just to report that LR radios are still graphically broken with the latest version of the mod. -
And yet it is in some people's mindset that people who object should come up with an addon that REMOVES said fatigue bar :) pretty funny.

When you hear yourself panting in a certain level, you know you can't sprint. No more indications are needed, and you don't need to try to sprint or look down your sights.

You refuse to understand. Let me try again. 1. For the sake of immersion and feeling "human", some information is better left unknown. Too much information will make you feel like a cyborg instead of flesh and blood. 2. You are confusing between screen real-estate and amount of information, your (hideous, in my opinion, sorry), idea, while keeping the same level of HUD screen real-estate, is increasing the information projected to the player, and the benefit cannot justify that.

For all those who feel they "know exactly how far they can sprint while fatiguing" try to answer this question: your fatigue indicator shows 57%. For how long can you run? Can't answer that? Don't ask for a fatigue bar.

Bouben, calm down. You need to realise one thing that is completely absent from your post. More accurate information on your fatigue level in a form of a HUD element comes with a price, and that's the price of clutter and over-flowing the player with info. Why overflowing? Because the benefit from a fatigue level indication is LOWER than the price payed on HUD clutter it will cause. You and all this unnecessary feature supporters have failed to present even a single use case that requires such HUD element (and adding colours to an existing element has just the same level of added clutter) and that the current natural indications do not provide. Remember that when you want to add features, the burden of proof lies on you.

A.C.R.E - Advanced Combat Radio Environment for Arma 3
Variable replied to noubernou's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Or fashion shows! -
Thanks! Looking forward to it!

AzCoder, that's bad news. I hope to see your splendid work in Arma 3 sometime in the future. All the best to you! There's a lot more than just one! Few campaign authors that come to mind are: Bardosy, Sekara (this guy alone made three campaigns already!), Wiki and Misty Ronin.

You can know almost the same using the current audio and visual feedback of the game, you don't need a a HUD element for that. Seriously people, don't you guys feel that as less HUD the better?

Oh great find. Thanks Gutsnav!

When you are sprinting in real are you saying, oh, I am 75% fatigued, that means I can sprint only to X and not to Y? Not every feature that can help you take decisions is also a good one. This is an human infantry simulator not a T-101 terminator game.

BIS please don't add no freaking fatigue indicator/bar graph/percentage. It would be immersion murderer, it will make natural indications such as panting and aim swaying redundant, and it has nothing to do with what Arma is all about. Thank you.

CSAT specops take a bridge from the AAF. We decided to take it close and personal and it unfolded brilliantly, with tactical movements in a small area. I was out of ammo and had to switch to my pistol, that is always a sign for a great combat...
-
It most certainly has. Every artificial indicator about an aspect that you can get feedback about without an artificial aid is dumbing the game down.

That. It's immersive, it's realistic, and it's just the opposite when you don't have these sounds. It's a bug.
