Operation Hobbled Wager: Fire Support's perspective Courtesy of CharlesZulu, who lovingly put together these two cuts of our joint operation with ODA-951. Easy In shows the assault of an insurgent-infested town and the capture of our HVT. Easy out shows the rather dramatically opposed withdrawal from the target.

@Rich_R The map is Dariyah, which has great FPS so it's perfect for large playercounts on a server. The mission maker did plan the enemy in waves, the idea being that the local insurgents got alerted after the first contact and tried to stop our units from doing their things (as well as helping keeping the mission interesting for all elements involved).

Footage from an intense compound assault.

You can't simply transplant them. Maybe you could look for specific re-releases of the mod you're trying to use.

They seem to pop up as soon as you use an asset from one of the DLCs. Fair enough as far as I'm concerned. It should just be easier to avoid taking items or using vehicle slots from DLCs you don't own by accident.

Is BIS going to still developing Arma 3 after Tanks DLC?
rasa_be replied to esfumato's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
For all its flaws, the game is still the only one in its genre. I can't imagine playing the sort of online-community game I enjoy in another title. Many of the issues listed off in this thread are valid, but I feel a lot of it has to do with the sandbox nature of the game that tries to allow as many different variations of ArmA to be played. Sometimes, developing features in more detail might restrict our ability to bend the game to our wishes. -
I tried running the latest version of the mission (with ACE and TFR) on my server last night, but all the enemies were invisible. Does anyone know what could cause this? I made sure to run only ACE and TFR.

A way to differentiate between openable and unopenable doors

Realistically speaking, you wouldn't know if a door can be opened or not until you go and check either. -
The Unsung Vietnam Mod 3.0 WIP THREAD

Those map screenshots look fantastic! Will we be able to use the map separate from the mod? -
Headless client doesn't really "add" to the load, because it's able to utilise resources (CPU cores) that the server instance can't use. In most communities, including mine, the HC is hosted on the same box as the server, with the core affinities set up. You don't need a second copy to run the HC, just make sure the computer hosting it is logged into steam.

Bohemia paying for sponsored content at PC gamer
rasa_be replied to almanzo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
It's says "sponsored" right at the top of the page. The author of these articles is the first thing you usually read... -
Isn't the real question whether it matters? I don't think it's really necessary that ArmA is designed with complete balance between the factions in mind, that would make for a pretty dull game.

If Apex camp. disappointed you, what were your expectations?
rasa_be replied to inlesco's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
The campaign seemed like an afterthought. I played through it with a few friends in a single sitting, and although it was fun, it didn't really seem like a "substantial" effort. I didn't mind that it was designed like more traditional FPS formats. In the end, ArmA is a platform, and the mission creators decide what they want to do with it. There are plenty of examples in multiplayer missions where the game is used to set up more classic CTF or TDM games, let alone the life mods that are rather unique. That being said, I wouldn't mind if there were more focus on the milsim platform. -
How much would you recommend the Apex Expansion?
rasa_be replied to germanske_norge's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Tanoa is a fantastic map, and some of the weapons and vehicles models are great too. That being said, the campaign content is pretty run of the mill, so if you are looking for single player content, I wouldn't say it's worth the cost.
