    Why do most people prefer coop, not cti?

    Well one can surely have more fun with a group of players who prefer a similar gameplay. On public servers the chances are tenfold higher to meet players who prefer and show their own/different gameplay "style".... The general problem is to get strangers play together without forcing ridiculous gameplay and/or mission "features" on them.

    @Madeon - no need to proclaim "Game has been cancelled" if the judge didn't pronounce the sentence and if there is no official word about cancelling A3 from BIS. Even if the worst case happens BIS could always delay and release A3 including some side blows on paranoia and ultra-patriotism....

    More athmospheric campaigns ala PMC style

    Imo the EW and PMC campaign were some nice demos to show what else is possible with A2OA+DLC's. Question is what is more important to remember: the style/art or the characters + story of a campaign?

    Multiplayer Balancing - Will Arma3's MP be balanced?

    Just show or list at least some military assets which could be possibly balanced and those which are not but keep the different BLUFOR, OPFOR, (INDFOR?) military doctrines, priorities, funding and domestic R&D + production in mind. Of course it can be a lot easier, faster and cheaper to develop a mediocre and superbalanced shooter instead of a awesome game with somekind of authentic/realistic gameplay standards.... Overall A3 needs to be and stay stable on its own feet, with its own features & content from the first step! :)

    Could be a teaser for "Red Dawn - Episode 1/2 back to the past" movie - of course those ground textures/AI (vehicle) pathfinding from ToH aren't that nice to watch.... btw it would be better to use some other + free music. ;)

    No, imo most people are buying at Steam just because of convenience and special offers. Its more or less about to get software for "XX percent off!!" at Steam and don't think/remember about the terms and conditions for buyers and gamedevs. Or why do you think Steam can make such offers - just for charity's sake or because they deeply love and care about games and gamers?? ;)

    Thread title is a bit strange because games are software too. Steam is just like one of those shops who makes most sales with low priced/special offers. The surface may look "cool" for somebody who isn't interested in much more than getting something for his own convenience and/or low budget. Guess Steam is just trying hard to create something like a monopol or at least lure more and more people into their "cool" world....
  10. OMAC did you made a clean CWR2 Demo4 (incl patch1) install or did you just copy all the new files into the old @CWR2 folder? I don't see/have the paricular files (cwr2_bradley.pbo, cwr2_BRDM.pbo) in my new CWR2 folder. Did even made two downloads of CWR2 Demo4 from different sources (armabase/armedassault.info) but it seems that those both files disappeared or were forgotten to include into the new CWR2 Demo4 bigpack. :confused:
  11. Hmm... mission CWR2 SP18 "Battlefields" not playable because of missing content Double-checked and there are non of these files in the CWR2 Demo4 or patch1.... thought I had seen the Bradley in earlier CWR2 builds. :confused: But maybe I need more coffee and yummy cookies.... :p
  12. Please playtest missions before release, don't use only the magic import/convert tool or "I'm in a hurry from the edit/script it looks okay!!" Or do you have a CWR2 "final/complete" deadline set at the end of this month? Just enjoy your own work more often!!! :)

    PurePassion since when intentions and interpretations are facts? Or are this just (again) rash thoughts?? Better wait for an official word/news update from BIS instead of spreading rumours and conclusions. Anything is possible @ BIS.... :p

    Sorry Tankbuster to hurt you feelings! Please bear with my bad experience on shooter addicted players and their supertactical procedures and killstat wanking. Anyway what is your view on fastroping ??

    Can't wait to take out a bunch of fastroping tacticool looking OMGDeltaSEALWarriors with just one machinegun or Strela/Stinger manpad. :D Or should the other faction/side be forced to give a style rating? For example: "Don't shoot - lets look how they rope down!! Wait until all those elit3 WarriorShooters are on the ground and in their positions!!! We don't want to have them cry + ragequit just because of their cool looking tactics...." Fastroping is one of those "nice to have" features and if its implemented it should work flawlessly in SP/MP + with AI. No need to have ropes that have the same physics like a steel pole.

Thanks again and here are some first reports: SP 21 "Laser" - player (BlackOp unit) without black skimask, Laserpoint seems to be invisible for AI if pointed at bridge, convoy gets stuck at one end of the bridge and didn't cross the bridge. SP 08 "Lonewolf" - "Destroy..." task didn't get marked as done, mission was only to end with 'endmission'. SP 13 "Vulcan" with scripterror and on Nogova Fc60 (south of Skalice) one farmhouse has a lightpole placed in walls (=indestructible).

    I guess BIS will try to make their new/old control scheme as open as possible. So most people will "like it" sooner or later. Default screen should be imo just how one can see the A3 world with his own ingame eye(s) + few switchable HUD signs/symbols in a decent color + style.

    Imo it looks like someone didn't like to make different tree density - just put a repetitive "forrest pattern" script on and hope no one mind the artificial nature.... at least some dirt roads and few settlements/small villages would have been nice.

    Didn't even Suchoi said that PAK FA isn't so much about stealth but designed to be more maneuverable than the F-22 Raptor? Let's see if the PAK FA will be in active duty one day or if this plane will be used as testbed for further developments.

    @Slatts - just search for "Red Flag exercise".... and which aircrafts are actually in duty/active, "on their way" and experimental. Of course no one isn't interested to reveal all of their latest military research & developments to others or to the public. "Stealth" is just overhyped by the marketing and media. Its like everything new has to go stealth and superfuturemodernwarrior just to make profit. Of course kids like it plus some dramatic music playing in the background.... lets see if there will be a "new" Topgun movie starring the "superior F-22 advanced superfighter" and some pilot bro'mantic. :D
  24. Hmm... still can hear the bug "AI team/groupleader beeing stuck in command loop" = repeating the same command, for example "Group move to tree 12 o'clock!" again and again. :(
  25. A3 Weapon attachments should come with some "downside" like weight, time to put on and adjust (zero) them. Plus such small things shouldn't be indestructible at all...
