My main gaming rig has an SSD, but on my second PC I use Contig. It's a free command line tool that allows you to defrag individual folders. :)

would dayz come on arma 3
maddogx replied to hollowfication's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Question answered. Wrong forum in any case. -
rundll is correct, this topic has in fact been discussed to death on these forums. The result is always the same: the ARMA games use DirectX, not OpenGL, so they will not run natively on Linux unless BI decides to write a whole new renderer. (Among other things, such as the sound engine.) Since there is very little chance of this happening, this thread can be closed. The devs are still able to post in closed threads btw., so if they have anything to add to this, they can.

Hopefully this will be released on PC in the not too distant future. Looks awesome. :)

Ok, the word "arbitrary" in my post was badly chosen. The laws against discrimination obviously apply everywhere, but these laws only cover discrimination against people because of their gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation etc. It is perfectly legal to refuse people service for other reasons, including difference of opinion. ;) As applied to a forum like this one: say a moderator were to delete all of your posts and ban you for no apparent reason, you'd have great difficulty making a discrimination case. Fortunately, we don't do that. :D

Disapointed with the full release content

FYI: moved a couple of posts here (Ask a moderator about the forum rules). -

One more time, because apparently some people did't get it: stick to the topic at hand and take any off-topic discussions either to PM or to a more appropriate thread. Any further derailing will be met with infractions and thread-bans. -

Actually, DM is correct. This is a privately owned forum, so BI could theoretically enforce any arbitrary rules that tickled their fancy - including the suppression of negative feedback if they so chose. It's like if you were invited into someone's home and then insulted their kids, they would have every right to kick you out. Anyway, this thread is veering off topic, so let's please cut the meta-discussion. Questions about the forum rules, free speech and Steam's refund policy belong elsewhere. -

Depends how you interpret what was written. ;) Even if the campaign is delayed by four weeks (ok, the first episode, with more to come, yadda yadda), this is not a false statement, per se. The game is getting a campaign, just not right away. (Insert BIS trollface.jpg) DISCLAIMER: Before everyone jumps on me, yes I agree that delaying the campaign was (IMHO) a bad decision on their part. Delaying the whole game would have been preferable. -
This seems to be a fairly common issue with DX11 games and nvwgf2um.dll. Several workarounds are proposed there, including uninstalling KB2670838 and rolling back to NVIDIA driver 306.97 (which is quite old now :(). Since re-installing Windows temporarily fixed it for you, I'd guess that some Windows update broke it again, so the first suggestion might do the trick.

FPS: SP is great. MP is horrid. Tried several community suggestions. Still lost.
maddogx replied to BLSmith2112's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Actually, it's not "his game". The moderators here are not BI employees, and our opinions do not represent BI's official stance on anything. -
MistyRonin is correct. There are already multiple threads where the content (or lack thereof) is being discussed. Closing.

Are you going to stay on Stable or Dev Branch?
maddogx replied to Smurf's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Dev branch for now, probably until the first campaign episode is released (then I'll be switching back and forth, playing the campaign on stable). The more people testing changes on the dev branch, the better. -
Global banned on Arma 3 by BattlEye. Gamehack #38
maddogx replied to elaola's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
No one on these forums can help you with BattlEye global ban issues. Look here. -
Please use descriptive thread titles. Title edited.

Long story short, the autonomous vehicle AI should be much less autonomous. ;)

Perhaps the other moderators will disagree, but I personally think a little humor can't hurt. ;) Unless someone else says otherwise (i.e. locks it), please use this thread to report gameplay experiences, not to accuse the thread author of trolling. -
Ideally they should receive more than just different camos. Different models for the static weapons and autonomous vehicles would allow recognition based on the silhouette.

Air superiority was so 1990's. ;)

Those are indeed data changes, so yes it would seem so. Btw. I deleted your identical post from the "disappointed with release content" thread, since A) it didn't belong there and B) no crossposting.
-
Does that seriously have anything to do with the dev branch?
-
Can't really say I agree, at least not 100%. The improvements are coming in slowly and incrementally, but they are happening. AI still aren't great, for example, but they're a lot better than they used to be. I guess the main problem is that it's all going a little too slowly for some people. (Myself included, I must admit.)

25fps... but at what settings?

Is that for real?? One single JET on ARMA3??
maddogx replied to oliver_ssa's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Belongs in the "disappointed with release content" thread. -
Two more CAS jets are WIP. Confirmed in one of the SITREPs.
