@A3CV - ArmA 3 Coop: Vietnam
maddogx replied to alduric's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Deleted a bunch of posts. Please keep the thread on-topic. -
You need to use the addCuratorAddons command. (Not sure if there is also an equivalent module.)

ARMA 2/3 uses player profiles, and the default profile always uses your windows username. Unfortunately, the name of this default profile cannot be changed, so you need to create a new one. (This will also reset most of your settings and keybinds I'm afraid.) In the main menu, go to configure -> profiles, then create a new one.

You can set waypoints by selecting a unit and then left-clicking where you want the waypoint. However, it's not yet possible to order a helicopter to land or take off. (It's listed in the known issues.)

Pressing "H" during tutorials always helps. ;)

The only speculation I'm willing to make: frequent references to a storm + eye GIF on countdown = "eye of the storm". I expect this is the name of whatever they are announcing. (ARMA 3: Eye of the Storm DLC/expansion, maybe? You heard it here first. ;)) Other than that, I'm not going to make any assumptions or speculate about possible content. What little information we have isn't enough to support any expectations, let alone hype.

^^ All of this. Anyone hoping for some massive game changing update is only setting themselves up for disappointment. Honestly, I wish BI would simply announce what they are doing instead of trying to create some big mystery around it.

Thread closed pending explanation.

I only see feature requests here, no troubleshooting issues. :padlock:

Need to have some sort of Mod Blacklist
maddogx replied to GDent's topic in ARMA 3 - SERVERS & ADMINISTRATION
No, you can just use the normal tool to sign the PBO(s) with your own key. But be advised, signing an addon yourself means that any players using that addon will need the appropriate signature files (.bisign) for all PBOs. This probably won't work very well for a public server. -
Looking for Modelers for Arma 3 Life Community

Thread cleaned up. Please air your dirty laundry outside of these forums. -
Guys, this thread is not about DayZ, nor is it about different engines, or documentation, or what Suma happens to be working on at the moment. Please discuss such things elsewhere.

Kradnostrov Map for ArmA 3
maddogx replied to CommuneCode's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Thread cleaned up. The "royal crap" comment has been clarified, so I don't think it's necessary to derail the thread any further. Please keep it on topic. -
Please put large RPT dumps and any other walls of text into SPOILER tags.

The absence of the F-35 has been discussed many times already, and was even explained in one of the SITREPs. We will be getting other jet fighters soon enough. Closed.

That's not the first one (more like 5th or 6th), but one of the accounts. The original was banned for trolling, if I recall correctly, and since duplicate accounts are not allowed here they all suffer the same fate. No exceptions for content creators I'm afraid.

Bohemia Interactive's ambitions are always set too high.

Thread cleaned up, duplicate account banned (again). -
They apply a sharpening filter after FXAA, specifically to counteract the blur effect. I believe this was inspired by a certain FXAA injector which did the same.

Nope, works on NVIDIA as well.

Thread set to "solved".

I tested AI performance yesterday and didn't see much of an improvement in that area. 150 distant AI fighting in a town (far outside of rendering range) still cause a massive single-thread CPU performance bottleneck. (25 FPS, down from ~65 without AI.)

Slow motiong glitch bug - Sprinting + Lean
maddogx replied to SPC.Spets's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
If it happens in the stable branch but not in the dev branch, that means it's already fixed in the dev branch. So there's no need to report it, you just have to wait for the next stable patch. -
Unnecessary calculations are being prevented so yes, definitely. The question is: how many unnecessary calculations are we talking about? Time to break out that old AI performance repro mission. ;)

Interesting. I had never heard of "HDAO" before today and assumed it was a typo of HBAO, but apparently I was wrong; it does exist. I haven't been able to test it yet, but judging by screenshots from other games it should look pretty good. Must check it out later. :)

Thread cleaned up (i.e. pointless posts deleted). Any further derailment will net the offending parties infractions and thread-bans.
