TPW MODS: enhanced realism and immersion for Arma 3 SP.
kremator replied to tpw's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
No but I'll direct you to calculations regarding momentum amd Newton's Third Law. Momentum is always conserved and the formula is mass x velocity. Therefore assuming the mass of a bullet (lets call it 4 grams or 0.004kg) travelling at 370m/s has a momentum of 0.004x370=1.48kgm/s. Now this mometum is therefore passed to the 80kg body (we'll neglect the extra 4grams the body has gained!). Once again Mom = m x v 1.48 = 80 x v. Velocity of the body is therefore 1.48/80 which is a MINISCULE 0.018m/s. For the sake of argument lets call it 2cm/s. You will not even be seen moving ! Now depending on where your centre of gravity was when you got shot, it is entirely possible to fall towards the bullet, but it is more likely that you will just fall down ! One final note - should a bullet ever be fired so fast (or be so heavy) to cause you to fly backwards, you will end up as a pink mist!- 5767 replies

ai command dlc C2 -Command And Control
kremator replied to mad_cheese's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Just a quick reply. It is worth having a look at the automedic and the revive scripts as there is some interesting stuff, especially regarding the FSM. I'm busily trying to capture the MOVE command that C2 gives the medic, before the automed kicks in, so that I can send him back on track when done (as the whole group will wait until he is finished - I think!) Will post more a little later on mate ... thanks for all your hard work ! -
I'll see about uploading my fixes kaysio. I'm quite far down the line with tweaking and it seems to be working pretty well. I've changed things in the recruit script, medic and revive scripts.

TPW MODS: enhanced realism and immersion for Arma 3 SP.
kremator replied to tpw's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
If you don't understand simple physics then please do not ask for the impossible. As a user of tpw_mod you can politely ask for things but if tpw doesn't want to add them/change them then tough. Having been around on these forums for long enough I doubt that I get the 'stupid' tag - perhaps it is because English isn't your first langage that you have difficulty - caps are for emphasis!- 5767 replies

ai command dlc C2 -Command And Control
kremator replied to mad_cheese's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Ack - I had a huge bit written but then I clicked on gwybleidd's input link and lost it all ! Let's start again, saving as we go. Firstly thanks for getting back to me. I cannot play without C2 - it is amazing, so any improvements in functionality are very welcome. Regarding my problem - all I need is to be able to expose the waypoint that the medic was given, through C2 and I'll send him back to that waypoint. I'm using a combination of bardosy's automedic and psychobastards revive script in an insurgency mission to great effect - commanding the troops with C2 of course! Regarding your B improvements .... Anything that avoids extreme micromanaging of AI is a good thing, and therefore having an AUTOMED function would be the ideal. The way I dream about it is this .... I set up for an engagament and split my two teams by colour. Each team has a medic. Both teams are now sent out flanking. One of the troops gets hit and requires a medic, and medic disengages combat mode (or not - not sure how this would affect his survivability!), runs to wounded and starts to heal. Following the heal, the medic and the injured rejoin their subteam and push on to their waypoint given by C2. If the medic is downed, then another troop with a medkit can suffice, but not be as effective. This should also work for reviving AI using the medics if possible! I think using listboxes is too fiddly - automagic is the way to go :) PS found a bug in C2. All troops given HOLD FIRE via radial menu, but enemy are visible. Create subteams and then give them flanking waypoints using C2 and hit commit .... SOME troops will fire a few shots ! PPS ready for testing ! PPPS is there a way to REMEMBER the subteam colours when you reinitialise (or whatever it is called - the one that renumbers the team) the team (the bottom left icon on radial menu) -
Getting AI to re-follow the leader of a colour group
kremator posted a topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Hi guys, Struggling with some coding here and could do with help. The situation that I have is that I issue a command to several groups (blue and red, each containing 3 AI and 1 AI medic). I have an automedic script that will send AI medic to heal but need the AI medics to rejoin the leader of their coloured group (and not the main leader). Ideally they would continue onto the the waypoint that I gave them before (but I cannot see a getWaypoint command). Any ideas how I could do this (either rejoin color lead, or restore previous waypoint)? -

Hmmm follow himself is an interesting one ... will test that out. Looking at getWPPos too, but seems to want a group rather than a unit :( -

Hi Tajin, Yes I know about doFollow, but how can I find out the leader of the team colour (then get him to follow them)? -
ai command dlc C2 -Command And Control
kremator replied to mad_cheese's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I've got a problem madcheese, that perhaps you can help. I use an automated medic script (*cough* wouldn't that be SO useful in C2?) that interrupts my C2 waypoints for that medic. Do you know what code I could add back onto my medic to get them to resume the waypoint I gave them in C2 ? -
TPW MODS: enhanced realism and immersion for Arma 3 SP.
kremator replied to tpw's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
WRONG ! When you work out the kinetic energy of a bullet then pass the impulse onto a heavy person the effect is negligible. This is NOT Hollywood! And please stop pestering tpw! It is his mod and as much as you disagree who cares? If he wants the mod to dress you up as a banana - so be it. You do not have to use it, or better still ... make your own!- 5767 replies

My problem is that I normally split a medic off into a sub team (normally 2x medics in a whole team of 10). They are given a team colour and each team is given a separate waypoint. After the medic does its heal, I need the medic to resume with it's previous waypoint. Possible ?

Getting AI to re-follow the leader of a colour group
kremator replied to kremator's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
I don't think that works with subteams, but I'm willing to be wrong. -
Anyone know how to get the AI medic to go back to its previous waypoint (before being told to heal) ?

This would be VERY useful for evaluating large scale AI mods - let them run and then see how they flanked/assaulted/died etc ! -

kremator replied to Psychobastard's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
OK I'm having some problems using this script. Even though I have set tcb_ais_realistic_mode to false my AI are still properly dying. I don't want this to happen at all and need them to go into agony instead of dying. Anyone help here ?- 914 replies

Chain link fences are NOT cover !
kremator replied to kremator's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
Yes BB I agree that running through chain fences may be even more game breaking, however seeing stupid AI standing in a hail of bullets behind a chain fence is pretty bad. Using VIEW_LOD I hope would be an option, but I'm not expert (in any way!)
