    Not REALLY going to miss you. Good advice has been given above but I would recommend spending time reading through these forums. Lots of addons give improved AI capabilities. If you don't have the inclination to read all the wonderful information stored in here, please do ! For instance - there IS a mod that makes you AI copy your stance! So don't gripe, ask respectfully and the community will help. Piss us off and you can go jump.

    Nope - it was in Arma2 (as I distinctly remember the author having his troops line up at one of the building on Utes airport. I'm going to have to do a lot of digging on these forums to find it. I do understand what you are saying Solus about the AI - it is great that addon makers like yourself are trying to get around some of the limitations of the engine.
  6. Look at the mission that comes with it. Open init.sqf, description.ext and mission.sqm and see how it is implemented. If I can add it to Virtual Training Space then it must be easy to do !

    I remember seeing an addon (unreleased) where they author was able to stack a series of troops exactly how he wanted them along a side of a building. I CANNOT remember what it was called but that would sort of help. I remember seeing rotating markers where you could change the position and angle.

  10. Lovely! So over a certain "cost" the 105mm is used etc. Makes sense. What worries me is that the AI gunner is going to be SO effective that, after calling the AC130, all that is left is smoldering vehicles and dead bodies and nothing for me to shoot :) I'm sure you can put in code that means that the AI has a difficult time finding targets (based on height perhaps) Is it also possible to make Tunguskas fire at the AC130? In the demo mission I'm sure that the only AC130 to be fired at was the one I started off in. The full AI (mapclick called one) wasnt targetted but should also be able to be shot down. One final thing ... I like the new system for moving the central point of orbit. Would it be possible, instead of suddenly appearing over the target that it ingresses in a straight line (ala moving orbit point) from a certain distance away (very similarly to MMA bomb console jets/helos)? Thanks for all this hard work ....... you know where I am :)
  11. I wouldn't bother doing separate levels of zoom Lurchi ..... Perhaps increasing the level of zoom another couple of notches. Regarding the AI gunner - could the AI determine the level of threat and use the weapon accordingly?
  12. "You can do FLIR with an addon now." This is typical of the whiners - talking out of their proverbial arses ! Please get your facts straight. We have a 'faked' FLIR - with OA we will be getting the real deal. I'll be buying it as soon as it comes out!

    :eek: I don't even know where to begin. No I don't want BIS to stop development on OA to release a beta patch. The game is fine as it is currently. The problem you have sounds like it is mission based and nothing to to with the engine. Save your time - DON'T check this thread as I SERIOUSLY doubt they will be doing any more betas for a good while.

  17. By all means please make an AC130 model. You will STILL need scripts to power it however. What is wrong with using scripts anyway? I have put this script into EVO, Domi, and VTS all without a problem - tell me that isn't good enough for a start !
  18. Nope, AI cannot be the gunner currently (and in fact why waste a GREAT addon like this (where we can see the damage we cause !) - use MandoMissiles console addon for that. Cheers
  19. Yes it can be operated in all modes (as pilot, as copilot or as AI flown as pilot). For a fully AI controlled AC130 mando missiles will do it. This script is for those that want to do the damage themselves. @khero. Isn't FLIR or NV not good enough?

    Yes it works. Just clean up the title of it ! Remove the ! and the _ It does need ACE2 ACEX and FFAA terroristas (at the least) The wounding system is a little screwed up but the mission seems OK.
  24. I've now tried every combination of simple text in the init field (and commandline) as GM as requested but it still isnt working gonza. Any idea why ? Also as GM if I get killed, how can I re-enable player addAction commands from within VTS ? At the moment when I die they are removed.
