  1. Can't be with smoke. Tremendous performance hit ..and even then.. the amount of smoke produced wont be satisfying as result. It *just needs a custom "sandstorm-like" effect ..but at given radius/under certain circumstances/for a given time Anyone? :)
  2. I was wondering if there is already a script that tries to simulate the foggy/dusty environment created by explosions dynamically using a modified (colored) ingame fog feature or something in a given radius for a given time. Please let me know in case..

    ..can't see how it will help against a running zombie btw. You wont going to have enough time even to draw a pistol. But as exercise..can't say nothing about that :)
  4. ..then i hope some map maker will find the motivation to start working on such a map. There are already assets (from ArmA1 era) available ..although you might find disappointing the lack of "those 4-5 story buildings". *edited later* hmm..now i m thinking about ArmA1 has some tall buildings also.. Wish you luck ;)
  5. Seeing the RL pictures..it is impossible to have a playable map with such *large building density+amount of buildings.. and the biggest drawback will be the partially destroyed building models. A partially destroyed building model (but fully enterable without stupid collision issues) will require at LEAST the x2 polygons of the same *intact building. Eventually it isn't the big work of a map maker...but a bunch of modelers working exclusively on building models. Guess why we have 100 maps that look ALL the same.Because it's a painstaking process to build a "buildings pack". Just my thought..
  6. I think Opteryx will probably wants to finish his (Uber) Building pack first. Yes..development doesn't look *lighting-fast ..but we probably gonna see the map..sooner or later.. p.s. Yes..i m anxious myself to play on THIS map with THIS building pack.. but can't do much about it except wait :)

    To be honest i played at least 10 times the mission until now...and if you remove the thirst bug (which it's fixed) and the radiation bug (which it's pending) ..the mission it's TOTALLY survive-able. Harsh yes...I walked (yes walked) lots of kilometers with only a portion of life..but i survived..and found the precious *medikit AND Geiger. It's challenging feasible :)
  8. Of course he NEEDS to "downgrade". Most of todays offers as *upgrade it's just...a named as *upgrade -not in the essence. Rest on PM ;)

    I think it will be helpful to post the mods you are using. i.e. Are you using ACE? I encountered a *similar problem

    + Haleks I enabled the Geiger i found and it shows Rad level 61. Took Anti-rads ..but hasn't changed nothing. Can you confirm Haleks plz? *also an extra check needed for the sleeping bag placement maybe. Today a 3rd one in a row disappeared into the ground-lost forever :/

    OMG tried to deploy my tent inside a house (to look for options to pass the night) ..and i 've being killed by it. 3.5 hours of hardcore survival game got smoked :///////// There are more times i hate ArmA than loving it..

    UPDATE!! Ok ..i 've found the culprit While i tested the LATEST version 0.111 and encountered the same problem.. i searched and saw loading fails because some entries as R3F,RH,CUP,RKSL missing which are Optional (supplementary) Configs for ACE 3 (which i have installed recently) Of course..i can't see any obvious reason why it requires mods which i never run ..but as a bypass for this problem is CLEAR the optional supplementary configs on ACE and everything (save/load) will work properly ;) (to save time i uninstalled/reinstalled ACE 3 again) @lecter Btw i cant see reason to use both ACE and magRepack mod for "repack" job ;)

    To be honest Haleks i m using ACE (also CBA and some LAxeman's sound enhancements)-and it worked fine before the updated Ravage version. If eventually save works without it/and nothing can be done ..i guess i ll go without it :/

    Sorry Haleks.. Just finished some *testing in your main release and..the Radio menu "Save" feature its broken (for me). It will save but wont load the saved game forcing a restart :/

    ArmA 3 Custom Buildings

    First of all congratulations for your work. Unfortunately we are doomed here to play with tenths of maps seeing same buildings over-and-over again (at 95% of times).. like living in a world full of different (regarding size) people (fat ppl/skinny ppl/tall ppl/short ppl..)..but..all of them with same face characteristics. I wish more people were dedicated to fill the maps with new stuff. I wish you find the courage to create (or being part) of a large collection of buildings we can all enjoy. Keep up! :)

    Have you thought about a random mission generator-triggered by random NPC's? Alive mission offer for x time (after that mission cease to exist from same person "aka someone else eventually took the job")+same person wont give another mission for a minimum y of time Random difficulty levels with *proper rewards for it. Extreme distances may involved. ;)

    As you said earlier..the bunker is certainly an "add" to the mission..but (also certainly) i will not miss it if suddenly it's gone :) You see most (if not all) the times..trying to create an "atmospheric" scene in ArmA (every ArmA so far) ..it just isn't going to work Focus on the core features man...just my thought ;) Solid mission system,atmosphere,dialogs,surprises,performance (and MP performance and synchronization in case you go for MP) etc...

    @bad benson having a real gameplay reason to do it can make it more meaningful. like some night danger that is forcing you to camp by atleast a campfire or something. Well either way it "doesn't feel right" the *new approaches of other games regarding night (i.e. 7DTD or Dying Light) were zombies get superpowers and other sci-fi stuff makes an appearance-forcing you to be *inside to avoid certain death. The total absence of NVG drops (scopes included) its 1 solution to be EXTRA carefull. These running zombies are really dangerous even at daytime.Having only a weapon flashlight will be problematic (the least) to continue roam the land at night.. Just a thought :)
