    For those of us who don't know what is XAM, can someone tell in 2-3 sentenses please? Everyone is shitting bricks about it for the last 8 pages, but not much intel on the project itself. Sorry if I sound like an idiot here, but I really don't know what XAM is and why I should even try it. Thanks.

    I am glad to see no kiss-ass coments on this forum for a change. It is not harsh because it is coming from another addon-maker. She knows what she is talking about. If it was somebody like me, who only knows how to use addons, than it would be harsh and inappropriate, but she can say these things. It's nice to see a woman who says what she thinks Rare quality at least in the women that I meet in the US!

    I also remember that this plane had an issue with landing on small airports that we had in OFP (or was it Tu-22M?). Will it be the same in Arma? the problem with all this off-top are not the off-toppers, me thinks. It is actually all these fucking forum nazis who love to tell people what to do on this forum. Isn't what the moderators do? That's their job, so let THEM do it. If you see people going off-top, wait for the moderator to tell them to stop. We are ALL guilty of off-toping here and there (look at me now!, so stop being mini-moderators guys, that's what really starts the flaming.     Judging by the EUROFIGHTERX British flag in his name, he must be a westerner. So, here is your answer. Typical western hypocrasy here, when the Soviets attack Nagova, the locals fighting for their home are called Resistance. When NATO attacks Serbia, Serbian resistance fighters are off corse terrorists. That's all to it. So stop bickering about it. That's just the way it is, what's the big deal here?

    Compatability of the BEST addons in this game is a big deal. Do you remember how in OFP everyone was making great tanks, like T-80's and M1's pack from Sigma-6, RHS packs, Timmamas T-90. And then King Hommer made an excellent M1 pack. But it was useless with all other addons. His tanks were SO uber and almost invulnerable, I couldn't use them in any of the missions! It's armor was way too much for any opposing addons in OFP. He got carries away in his national pride there. Those M1A2 tanks looked fantastic, but were useless. I hope we are not going to make the same mistake in Arma now. Besides making good addons, could you guys also make BALANCED addons with each? Is there some sort of common armor value established for Arma addons yet? Without it, we will have East and West King Hommers everywhere. I hope that these new RHS tank addons will be balanced with the best Western addons (like NWD for now) so that we can enjoy both sides in the game.

    Very nice, thanks for all the hard work! Did you guys noticed something funny? I swear, when you shoot the Ak-74SU, the echo sounds like "threesome" Awesome! CURSOR, it is probably not a good idea to ask guys who make AK's to just drop it and star making MP5's. Ask those who make something that is close to MP5's, you might get your wish there. The AK's are great and so are the sounds for them. I thought that the Abakan was a little too black. Maybe brighten it up a little would show more texture and rivets and all that, it should look a little better that way. But that's just imo. Overall, this is a great pack!
  10. Working on the mission where a player gets to target a chopper to armored AA. By a trigger chopper joins player [chopper] join player upon destroying 3 Vulcans, some sort of a trigget or condition needs to kick in. I named Vulcans Vul1, Vul2 and Vul3. I need the game to "know" when all three Vuls are destroyed. Some sort of a trigger or something... This will initiate another chain of events Any ideas? Thanks guys!
  11. I want to create a mine field behind the city so that advancing enemy armor can get screwed. Later on, my team will attack that same city with armor. How can I prohibit access to the minefield for my AI tanks so that they would go around?

    Well I was thinking about this today and decided that deleting mines might not be what I want. Indeed it should do the trick, but doesn't correspond to reality. Most likely the friendly tank platoon will receive order not to go to grid 3462 blah, blah, blah... So, perhaps there is a command that restricts movement of OPFOR or BLUFOR or Civilians to one particuler area (designated by a marker, trigger, etc.). Is there such thing?
  13. My mission has two parts to it. The sniper clears the area and than 3 paratrooper platoons attack the town. I start as a sniper, but than when sniper's task is complete, I want it to automaticaly switch me to Team Leader of one of the paratrooper platoons. Is it even possible?

    Well the Ethiopian/Eritrian conflict saw some Mig-29's vs. Su-27 combat (Ukranians vs. the Russians). Mig-23's were mainly used for bombing mission (more like Mig-27's). Mig-21's were also mainly used for bombing missions. Sponsors understand the danger of loosing these planes, so it is not that far fetched. The scenario could be that Venezuela allows Russians to build a military seaport on the shore. US wants to monitor all activities around that area. They find a small island nearby called Sahrani and decides to build a radar station for monitoring. The government of Sahrani agrees for a hefty price tag, but the northern part of the island, led by pro-socialist and pro-Chavez politicians, opposes these plans. Now the conflict is brewing and both the Russians and the Americans are ready to supply arms for those who is willing to fight... Here is your story line.

    Like I said before, check out the Ethiopian war guys. In the 90's, a small part of Ethiopia called Eritria rebelled against the mother country. Eritria virtualy had no air force, but several Arab countries (Sudan, Algeria, Libya) decided to aid this small country. They sponsored purchases of Mig-21s, 23's, 29's from Russia, Belorus, Romania, Bolgaria and others. Ukranian mercenaries were flying those planes fighting the Ethiopians pilots and also Russian mercenaries. Both Ethiopia and Eritrea didn't have well-trained pilots, so the Ukranians and the Russians did all the hard fighting and bombing missions. I still remember how Moscow was flooded with these black guys with briefcases full of cash trying to buy ANY military equipment they could find! So you see, Sahrani could get some outside "sponsors" who can purchase Mig-29's, Grippens, Mirages, Su-27's, F-14's, 16's, 18's. Then some mercenaries can fly those planes for the North and South and we can have some very potent game-story.

    I great example of the realistic war of the 3rd world countries was the Ethiopia vs. Eretria in the 90's. Take a look at what they had as far as jet fighters, and you can get a very good idea what N.Sahrani vs. S.Sahrani forces should look like.

    Ye, I was really looking forward to F18's. They are very much a jet fighter choice on islands like Sahrani. This is what USMC would bring with them. Any chance to see it soon Franze? Mig-29 should come with it too, so that we can have some sort of balance in the game. But without flares these planes don't stand a chance in Arma. Right now I can shoot any plane in the air with just Strela, which is a bullshit off course. Maybe these fighters can come with Mando's missile and flares addon?

    I like the flames they way they are now. I don't think the fires are too big. If we can take a look at other version and compare, maybe then I can say that I don't like this current version. But for now, it looks fantastic.

    Somehow I missed this addon... Tried it last night, wow, thanks for such a great addition to the game! Great work Matt. Question. If I make a SP mission and I have this addon, do other people need to have it too in order to play my mission? Or they just would have regular effects, but still can play. In other words, do I need to mention that this addon is required to play my mission?

Ah, just tried it and both of your examples are not working when I put this in on Activation in the trigger: (Not(Alive NAME1)) && (Not(Alive NAME2)) && (Not(Alive NAME3)) I get a message: Type Bool, Expected Nothing and when I tried this: ?!(canFire _Vul1) : player sideChat "Tank disabled!" I get a message: Invalid number in expression Please help!
