Old school, but so old I might as well be ancient.
igeighty replied to Lord of Ruin's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Hey Buddy 🙂 I haven't played Arma series for a long while now myself. But I do remember the many hours we spent together huddled in the virtual bushes. The old server went out in the hard rubbish a few years ago. I just wish I had more time to sit and play like I did before. Arma is still the best game there is. And domination is still my favourite. Best regards from down under. And welcome back @Lord of Ruin- 24 replies

for linux servers with a folder named mods.. i use this bash script #!/bin/bash cd ./serverfiles/mods find . -depth -exec rename 's/(.*)\/([^\/]*)/$1\/\L$2/' {} \; echo "Done" it will convert all folders and files in the folder ./serverfiles/mods to lower case. i run it after copying any mods to my server. hope it helps with the upper/lowercase problems. I recently upgraded my linux DS to the new apex release, and i notice a new file that is created after running the server and exiting for the first time. The file name is Arma 3\BISProfile.json it is located in /.local/share/Arma 3\BISProfile.json It contains { "CommonValues": { "UnitBaseUrl": "https://units.arma3.com/unit/:groupSlug", "LogoBaseUrl": "https://units.arma3.com/groups/img/:groupID/" } } What is its purpose ? i cannot locate anything using google or the search engine here. any light you can shed will be appreciated. regards. i would like to sell my two licences, is this possible or against the agreement ?

have you specified a port in the file beserver.cfg? you need to specify this port/ RConPort 2301 RConPassword 123456 your are trying to connect on port 2302 which is reserved for the game. add port in beserver.cfg use 2301 add port forward rule in your router for 2301 as you did for the 2302,2303,2304 and 2305 ports you will then be able to connect

Cannot add mods to server, server goes down.
igeighty replied to memtndude's topic in ARMA 3 - SERVERS & ADMINISTRATION
if it is a linux server then you will have to rename all your mods to lowercase, if not the server hangs. https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3_Dedicated_Server#Case_sensitivity_.26_Mods -
have a look here. as jus61 posted, i created a living with descriptions of the difficulty for liberation. add it to the class mission section in your server.cfg https://gist.github.com/igeighty/32275664a4c10075d4ba150b5285bfe1

Thanks Vandrel, And welcome to the new PE users. I know a lot of you have been waiting a while to take the plunge and see what VBS2 had to offer. And with the current price structure it makes it a lot easier to justify to the other halves :) With the new numbers of PE users springing up (and the older ones re-surfacing) i look forward to some renewed enthusiasm into the product for the average user. I myself own several HASP keys and would be happy to fire up the server again. Congratulations to 11 years guys. Regards./ Doug

Congratulations Xeno on a great run. I have been away from arma for the past year. I came back to download my favorite mission, and its gone ") i would deeply appreciate if someone could post me a link for the latest build. As BOTA:49 has said the dev heaven links are gone. Sorry Xeno you feel you have to leave again, thanks for the time you spent developing the code. regards./

ARMA 2: Private Military Company 1.00 released
igeighty replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I have read all the posts prior to this, and have played with the 1.56 patch and then paid for a few copies of PMC DLC. The quality of the models are good, the campaign is short but enjoyable and challenging. And the proving grounds map is interesting and looks quite post apocalyptic. I have always tried to keep a positive attitude towards BIS games. and have always supported you guys with my wallet buying AT LEAST two copies of everything you put out. VBS2 included. I am not sure how i really feel about this particular release. All in all, this is a another great addition to the game. BUT (there is always a but) the lack of single player senarios was the main thing that i didnt understand. And frankly Proving ground, as good as it looks is tiny, I am not sure exactly what it can be used for in its current size. So to all of you at BIS, please use the cost of my two copies of PMC to buy yourselves a case of beer and have a drink for christmas. I will just have to suck it up and consider the cost of this particular DLC a 'donation' for all the fun i have had with the entire series so far. I for one dont feel 'ripped off' just slightly bewildered at the lack of differences between the 'lite' version and the paid for product. Anyway thankyou for the effort you have put into this. Regards./ -

Spritz Island 1.1 released
igeighty replied to shezan74's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
shezan74, This is fantastic work. Thank you very much for the Map. This will be a very nice addition to the Arma2 Library. I immediately jumped into a littlebird and started to explore this island, one thing that struck me was how large it was. Extremely good frame rates here on this island also. I love the Southern Airport and the way it is built up on a man made land mass. The Naval base to the north is a very nice touch also, great to see those Aussie Frigates up there :) Such a Base will be a very nice spot to do missions. As would the whole island. There is one thing which i have found regarding AI and the naval base. but it is only a minor thing. I was unable to persuade the AI to walk out onto the dock at 045015. Reason i had found this, I saw the two illuminant towers at the end of the dock and tried to send a pair of AI to each climb a tower. Seems the AI don't like to walk out onto the dock. And when placed on the dock in the editor, they don't quite no how to move around on the surface of the dock :) Well done mate, i have 'spritz'd myself with enjoyment'
