Lord of Ruin posted a topic in ARMA 3 - GENERALYes, ahem, well, uhh this is my first post here, of which will most likely be many. I do admit, it has been a really long time since I submitted anything to a BI forum, so please, mea culpa, forgive me. I have spent the past 18 years watching BI's baby grow into the amazing creature that it is. Via bloody YouTube of all places. Yes, please, feel free to castigate me all you like, in fact, find me in game and make me work it off . It's not that I didnt want to play, just that life got in the way, and I found console gaming to ease the itch when I found that valued hour, or two, between life, parenting, and work. I did play OPF/RH/Resistance religiously in my youth, and modded many a machine to give me that draw distance we all know we needed. I participated in the community that has given so much, both to BI, and to us as players. I helped with mods, custom missions, scripts, and above all gave many virtual wristys to the BAS mod team who made the first iterations of BI's creations that much more exciting. And then, well, life got in the way. I am now however in the position to get back amongst the games that I loved in my youth, and with my latest custom build, and the very first Steam purchase, namely ARMA3 APEX, I am so keen I am still wiping the jizz off my 65" 4K OLED monitor after I kicked off the tutorial about an hour ago. What else can I say, holy jizz stains, this thing is just amazing. Anyway, enough with the jizz, and on with the biz. I am looking forward to once again engaging with this community, and also participating in whatever I can help with. I am unaware of where the BAS team moved onto, whether they are still around under another label, or like me just had life take its way, but I am keen to mod, script, and edit my way to many hours of fun and frustration, if that is still available that is. For those who still remember the glory days, please, by all means, say hi, tell your tales, and enlighten me as to where I can pick up again. I have around 2gb of original OPF+dlc mods/scripts/custom edits to share if you want to ever revisit the old days, not that the originals may even work on todays machines, but if the mod tools are still the same (I doubt it) then maybe I have something to help us all. Say hi, feel free to call me old as f*ck, and bring the banter, because banter kept things alive back then, and it keeps me alive now. Cheers.
Monument Valley - Old West Map Description: Since my first attempt on creating a map wasn't successful, I've started working on a new, working one map for my Wild West sandbox - Old West. Monument Valley - namesake of a place in USA, Arizona and Utah. It's size is 2048x2048 m. It takes place in the mid 19th century, in a time of Wild West era. Geography: Terrain is mainly consists of desert. Other half of it is mountains and plateau. It will have little towns, farms, villages and also some of the Native American tribes when I'll finish working on a topo relief and flora. Plans: Finish making topographical relief Update new sat map to a high-quality one (very boring and not necessary) Map mask can be changed too, but is good already Add foliage Add buldings and other objects Release it Requirements: Apex DLC CUP Terrains - Core Mattaust Buildings Pack Maybe something more in the future Snapshots:
Hey! I've been trying to setup a quick action that allows the player to sling rifle to chest (3 point sling) and look through binoculars. I remember there being an animation for this a few years back in ArmA3. However, it seems like it was removed due to people not being able to move whilst having their binos out. I was wondering if anyone knows if this animation even exists anymore. I haven't been able to find it in the anim viewer and I've spent a few hours looking for it now. Any help or tips that might hint in the right direction would be greatly appreciated! :) EDIT:
KaoS_GaminG posted a topic in ARMA 3 - SQUADS AND FANPAGES7th Armoured Divsion With roots in the War Thunder Community 7th Armoured are looking to branch out into Arma and create a historically accurate unit based on the famous Desert Rats using combined arms tactics. We've picked two units that served together historically and are looking to form a Platoon of the 1st Rifle Brigade (Mechanised Infantry) and a Troop of 5th Royal Tank Regiment utilising period equipment, structures, and tactics. We already have a solid player base, server complete with mods, and teamspeak but are looking to fill our ranks with like minded gamers to allow us to organise full scale missions with German WW2 milsim units from within the community. As a milsim unit we are aiming to be quite structured but have always prided ourselves on our relaxed and friendly nature so we hope to find a good balance. If you're interested in finding out a little more about us or would like to join, please either send me a pm, leave a message here or join our Teamspeak: 188.8.131.52:10006 and ask to speak to an NCO/Officer.
