  2. These units seem to be floating in the air... http://games.1c.ru/arma2_oa/gallery/arma2_oa7.jpg Anyway pics look great :)
  3. I agree with the impression of Arma2 colors being way too desaturated. I solved it with ATI CCC, adding more saturation makes it look a lot beter in my opinion. Watching videos and screens of Arrowhead, it seemed to me that colors were slightly more saturated... not really sure. At least shadows do look darker.
  4. Nothing new said in that video, just speaks about some of the new features (FLIR, backpacks, the new scenario...).
  5. I hate spoilers.........................................................................
  6. Devs already stated that it's not Arma2 engine, although they didn't give any further details
  7. Thanks a lot for the review. Nice pics!
  8. I think it is great. It seems more arcade than Arma, which is not bad in my opinion. Camera movement seems very fluid.
  9. Yeah, Linda simply generates vegetation. However, I believe noone at BI has confirmed whether RV is being used for Carrier Command (pls correct me if i'm wrong).

    Armory feedback

Some of the challenges end-up getting boring (for example, shoot the disk). I would like to be able to deactivate specific challenges, or simply be able to start a specific challenge whenever I want, not just wait until the one I want shows up. I don't know if it was me, but the animal hunting challenges were very difficult, due to the lack of preys (I could find a couple right at start, but then spent 10 minutes running around and not finding a single animal).

    Graphics During Suspend/Save Mode

My saturation slider is in the "Avivo Color" menu, under the "Digital Panel (DVI)" menu. I guess that's the one you meant. Do you see no changes? Even in your desktop, or only in Arma2? I played with the slider with the windowed mode of the game next to it, so it was easier to compare. Good luck!!!

    Graphics During Suspend/Save Mode

Hmmm, can't remember precisely. I am at work right now and this computer has a NVidia, but I do believe it was the slider you mentioned. I remember the default value was 100, and that I found the sweet spot at ~145 (min 0, max 200). I will edit the post when I get home to confirm it. By the way, I use Windows XP and an Ati3870 (in case that makes a difference).

    Graphics During Suspend/Save Mode

Hmmmm, I tried modifying the saturation in the Catalyst Control Center (wonder why didn't think of that before). Result is awesome! I love how it looks now (a lot more colorful). Guess I can live without a saturation slider in Arma2 options, and having to modify it every time I load the game...

    Graphics During Suspend/Save Mode

I would also like a mid term between that and the in-game looks. These have always looked way too desaturated to me.

    Mulitplayer planned?

I never played the original, but reading from other's posts I have got an idea of what it was about. Regarding editor, I'm not sure it would make that much sense include one in this game. The gameplay is just build units and finish the enemy right? maybe no point in editing missions. Perhaps a random map generator would be more useful. Just my two cents...
  16. Is it official that they are using Real Virtuality? I haven't seen that... Maybe they are, but with some important upgrades (DX11 , etc).

    Input Lag

These settings were introduced in the beta patches in the latest months. DetectedFramesAhead just shows the value Arma2 is using for this property (it might get it either from MaxFramesAhead or from the GPU drivers configuration). I guess BIS should include this in the ingame graphics options (probably for next patch). In theory a lower value might give you worse performance, but better input responsiveness.

    Input Lag

You should be able to find your Arma2.cfg file in C:\Documents and Settings\"your user name"\My documments\ArmA 2. In it there is a variable called GPU_MaxFramesAhead, which determines how many frames will be displayed in advance (thus, for that number of frames your input will have no effect). A value of 1 worked for me. By the way, how many fps do you get with that 3670? Also make sure you have latest graphics drivers installed. Regards.

    Input Lag

Hi Duck, I had this problem before (although your case seems more severe) and was able to solve it (at least to a point it is not noticeable anymore). Steps that worked for me: - Check you have 1.05 installed - Reduce gun floating area to zero - Play with the GPU_MaxFramesAhead variables in Arma2.cfg (a value of 1 worked for me) - Play with the smoothing scrolbar in the controls menu (mine is almost zero) - Defragment your hard drive periodically (I use myDefrag tool) Good luck!
  20. I think they're great. Looking forward to play this.

    Mouse Lag

Have you tried the beta patches? In one of them they introduced the posibility of specifying the rendered frames ahead value manually in the arma config file. I have specified a value of 1 and my mouse lag problems are more or less solved (there might be some lag left, but the game is definitely playable now). EDIT: Sorry, I just read a few posts back and saw that you have already tried this solution...
  22. I got this grey screen at exiting a few betas ago... havn't tried last betas so I cannot comment on that. Win XP 32 SP3 here. Also AMD 9850, ATI 3870, 2GB ram. EDIT: Actually, not even ctrl+alt+del worked for me, so so the nature of my bug might be different from yours...
  23. Last night I was watching your video and my girlfriend came in and asked me what was I watching. I just answered "a game I play", and she replied "but that's not a game, it's a real video, isn't it??". Congrats richie :D (and congrats BIS)
