The Unsung Vietnam War Mod v3.0 - ALPHA Released !!!
nettrucker replied to sgt_savage's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
My last try in terrain editing is dating back to OFP times and warptool. It was a real pain in the back then. I'm more familiar with terrain editing with the cry engine rather than visitor. Moreover I have no experience with visitor so unfortunately I can't be of any help here. My moddding skills are not up to the task to be any help to you guys. Moreover RL issues are preventing me to be a reliable member of any team. But I'm willing to do some experiments although I'm afraid it's not going to work outright of the box. LOL I gonna revert after having done a couple of experiments.Gotta take a look what happens if I'm using some of the 3pd objects pbo with the relevant terrain pbo's. Lets see what happens. I hope I ain't gonna blow my I7 to smithereens. I gonna revert back Yeah 80% in combination with AIA works right out of the box. I was able to load even some Armed Assault terrains into A3 I'm not kidding here. No config errors popping up. UNSUNG is a complete different animal though. The MOD team created their own 3d objects for the terrains. So basically your not wrong but UNSUNG is different. I need to do some testing. Definitely the lightning and visual improvements of ArmA 3 is great but I'm still playing ArmA 2 very often and the UNSUNG in ArmA 2 is something amazing as well. Notwithstanding older graphics the atmosphere is spot on brutal. cheers -
The Unsung Vietnam War Mod v3.0 - ALPHA Released !!!
nettrucker replied to sgt_savage's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hi guys just gave it a shot for the first time. Looks beautiful the terrain is awesome The thick jungle gives it really a claustrophobic feel. Well done. I will explore the map more in detail. I was lately playing Unsung for ArmA 2 for the last 3 days or so and it is awesome. I was just wondering if it would be possible to get the ArmA 2 UNSUNG terrains into A3. I know it's a crazy thing but before you jump me consider the benefits. I got plenty of A2 missions on my HD ( did 2 small ArmA campaigns for the UNSUNG in ArmA 2 - released), never released them because they still need some work. I was working on the completion for the last 3 days. When complete I will release them for Arma 2. I got plenty of missions that could be ported over to ArmA 3 but the terrains are necessary to do that. I have tried to load ArmA 2 user terrains into ArmA 3 in conjunction with AiA terrain pack and they work 80% right out of the box with no config errors popping up. I didn't try the UNSUNG terrains because I didn't had the time so far but I don't believe it's going to work without problems. Yeah UNSUNG is special in everything. I have not much hope that you guys would even ever consider to port over the old terrains and even if so it would be last on your priorities which I do perfectly understand. I just grew fond of all the available maps in UNSUNG Arma 2 that's it. A bit of nostalgia. of an old UNSUNG fan. You guys have come a long way. In OFP it was mostly the VTE mod at that time but from AA I remember UNSUNG to be the best Vietnam MOD created for the ArmA franchise. I have to admit that I've actually never tried UNSUNG in AA I missed that somehow. I played yesterday UNSUNG ArmA 3 for the first time and I'm impressed. I then played UNSUNG ArmA 2 and I remain impressed to that day. I recorded a video of it. Still to be edited and split up You tube won't let me load up videos longer than ten minutes and it's nearly an hour of game play. I had a blast. I remember Vietcong the 1st one. I played it 2 times and it got me hooked. Unfortunately I have only an Italian version which is funny but it pisses me off at the same time. I tried to find the game in English to no avail. In any case I remember the awesome atmosphere this game had. Every time I fire up the UNSUNG it gives me the same feel the same thrill creeping in the Jungle. To the contrary Arma allows you to bring that to the next level. That's why we play this game. I just wanted to thank you for all you efforts past, present and future of the UNSUNG team. This is one of the best MOD's ever created for ArmA and the best Vietnam era MOD ever created for a video game in history by non professional developers. I'm sincerely grateful to all of you guys for having provided so much fun to me. Thanks :681: -
Thanks for the heads up I'm verifying now. In any case it seems now ok. Everything seems to be solved and I can access everything. All the best

Solved everything. Thanks for replying. Even if it's been answered most probably a million times I still have to figure out how to do that LOL. cheers

I have a Steam account for a month now or so. I'm still not very familiar with how everything works. What pains me the most is that I feel that I do not really have control about the games I purchased. Downloading and installing takes an insane amount of time as updating as well. Sadly the only reason why I opened a Steam account in a first place was due to the fact that gamers gate started to remove video games from my library which have been non Steam titles at the time of purchase. No warning whatsoever. They just removed it and gave me a steam access key. I've lost access to 4 games I was quite fond of. Contacting Support at gamers gate was useless. In the end my choices were to lose access to these games or to open a steam account. I hate it when things are being shoved down my throat but in the end I gave in and opened a Steam account. Can someone give me some hints on how to access my games. Sorry for asking but I'm a Steam noob. Thanks for any help which is appreciated. EDIT: I have solved my problems in the meantime but I was forced to change my password and had newly to fill out the payment terms form. WTF I'm still struggling to see how Steam could be anything than an improvement to my gaming. Why the hell is everyone thinking that Steam is the best thing since sliced bread will be a mystery to me forever. Rant over!!!!!! :681:

Hi there I am a bit in trouble but my steam client doesn't seem to work anymore. It seems that Steam has been under attack yesterday. I received constant error messages, languages were switched several times I had games in my cart that I haven't even purchased. :391:I had to change my password today to log in to my account. I can't find my library. I can't launch any game. Nothing happens if I click on my steam client icon to get access to my account. Any ideas what I can do a part from contacting steam support. Thanks for your help. EDIT: I gotta correct myself According to SteamDB it's caching gone wrong. https://twitter.com/SteamDB/status/680492664610000896 WTF

This is just awesome. Thanks for all you hard work and effort. Merry Christmas and a happy new year. -
Nope, just updated gonna try it tomorrow . . . let's see if the sway has been reduced. I stopped playing the campaign for the time being hoping they would fix it somehow soon.
-
You could experiment a bit. Click configure, go to game, then click difficulties and choose Custom AI Level and then turn down Skill and precision settings to your liking. I found a pretty good balance. The AI is not a terminator anymore and it prolongs firefights significantly. Nice seeing bullets closing in on your position without being killed at the first shot. Try that Wiki and you'll see the game is more balanced without being less challenging. I found a pretty good setup I'm still experimenting myself since I got ArmA 3 only for 2 weeks now. I'm ok with the new stamina system since I don't know better. Sway is quite unrealistic and I'm having a hard time hitting the enemy. I rarely sprint only in danger of being killed but you move 10 meters in sprint and your player is already worn down. It's hard for me to adjust the aim. Well I think BI screwed on the weapon sway but for the rest I have not much to complain so far. After 2 years there are already tons of addons and MOD's, downloaded some 60 GB of stuff.

Hi guys took a 2 year long break from the forum. For me it would be in following sequence - OFP - ArmA 2 +OA - ArmA 3 - Armed Assault I must say that I replayed the original campaigns in ArmA 2 CWR mod and I had a blast like back in old OFP times. The longevity of the series IMHO is to be attributed to all you modders. You alone with your creativity is the reason that this series is existing for 14 long years now. All the assets that you modders create for the game is the reason that I'm never bored. I change terrain and it seems to be already a complete different game not to talk about all the weapons units, vehicles it's just amazing. I was never able to check all things out that you guys create. I couldn't in OFP nor in any other game iteration which has been released . . . too much stuff to checkout everything. Even playing 24/7 it would take you years to discover everything. Therefore my gratitude stays in the first place with you modders. Thank you!!!!! I bought ArmA 3 only 2 weeks ago and I'm still discovering things. I started directly with the last patch . I do not have any problems with the new stamina system but the weapon sway is difficult to handle for me. Even moving 10-20 meters in combat pace, wears you character down and my aim is screwed to the point that I can't hold my aim on target notwithstanding I'm holding breath. I like the graphics. I'm just in the middle of the Survive campaign. Already downloaded 60 GB of Mods LOL Mostly terrains which are my favorite addons so to speak without missing respect for all the other modders naturally. That goes without saying. I never hated steam before . . . now I do. Gamersgate were removing titles from my library which have been bought as non steam titles and giving me steam activation keys forcing me to open a steam account or say goodbye to the games. And this was not a singular case. There were some games that I'm pretty much fond of. I'm pretty much pissed about that. Yeah I can go offline mod but in case I do not have my computer hooked into the net I can't play the games. WTF. I will never surrender my BIS keys for a steam key. FTS Rant over!!!! Ah you guys know . . . I like to make an entrance. :681:

Hi guys this is a beautiful terrain. I started to tinker with it in the editor and I love it. Any chance that the runaway issue of the airport get's fixed in a future update? Right now the AI is unable to take off from the ground. They taxi on the runway, than they are going for a hike in the hills. This is the only bug I could find so far. keep up the good work. All the best

Thanks tom I guess I got sidetracked by the fact that in the topic is written campaign and I downloaded it from Armaholics campaign section. Thanks for enlighten me though. All the best :)
-
Hi bboy I just wanted to let you know that I'm getting an error related to your campaign as soon as I access my campaign folder when launching ArmA CO I don't know if that is something only on my side or not. It's the only campaign in my folder which gives me this error message. Cheers

Hi can someone point me in the direction of some good books to read. I've just finished for the second time "Confessions of an ecomomic hitman" by John Perkins. I'm currently reading Naomi Klein "The Shock Doctrine" very interesting. Any other suggestions?:) Thanks in advance
-
Yes that is correct. In any case I don't hate Jews. I have problems with Zionism and that's it. Wish you a happy new year. cheers
-
With all due respect Tonci but I don't think so. I've read in 1993 David Irvings books "Hitlers War" and that was quite an eye opener to me. Furthermore I've met with my Grandpa every day for 3 years when I was studying history and I always had a feeling that there's something wrong but I couldn't figure out what it was. Only years after I discovered things that made me go into denial immediately. But the more research I did the more things became clearer to me. In any case nobody is forced to read the book . . . I did and I do not regret it and I recommend it in any case without any problems. Voltaire said one thing: " If you want to know who is in charge who controls and governs you just ask yourself a question. Who can't be critizied?" Read the Talmud or the The protocols of the learned elders of Zion, so maybe it will give some more insight to the Zionist culture. BR
-
Yes I'm sure that I want to recommend this book. Look I don't care what the Zionist controlled media is saying about him. I'm grown up enough to make up my own mind. You don't like it . . . move on. Nobody is forcing you to anything. You don't have to read that book. Yeah he is highly dangerous because he's speaking the truth, that's what makes him dangerous and all other who are trying to get out the truth. And I gonna leave it by this. You want recommend some interesting books to read go ahead I'm all ears and I definitely read everything what seems interesting to me. In case you just wanna bash Dr. Duke . . . well it's your right to do so, but don't think for 1 minute that we are all the same and have all the same opinions and there's nothing that you can do to convince me otherwise about David Duke. I did my research on him and I definitely know all the lies and defamation he underwent like all the others. BR
-
There's a lot of things that we don't understand. If you have nothing really to contribute to this topic at hand, about books, than I would like to kindly invite you to stay out of this topic. Thank you for your understanding. kind regards
-
Read the book and you will know.
-
Hi there I just finished reading "Jewish Supremacy" by Dr. David Duke. A must read in my opinion. I can only recommend this book to everyone. cheers and a Happy New Year.

Hello everyone A merry Christmas and a happy new Year to all of you.

would you still buy any BI product ?
nettrucker replied to sgtsev3n's topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE - GENERAL
I don't hate Steam I just don't use it. I don't agree with their liscence agreement that's it. I could care less about Steam. I supported BI over the years as best as I could. ArmA 3 to me is an old turd in a new shiny box. It still suffers from things dating back from OFP times I guess. I don't think of myself as important nor am I entitled. I don't agree with BIS going steam exclusive and I stopped supporting them it's as simple as that. The community is growing even if there are some oldtimers who dropped out. Life goes on. No regrets whatsoever. And thanks for acknoleding my right to chose to not support them anymore. They don't need me as a customer there are plenty new players around which will support BIS in the future. So there's no point in argueing over it. No pun intended cheers -
I stick to ArmA 2 which is the last game I bought form BIS therefore ArmA2 isn't dead for me. Hell I sometimes fire up even good old OFP. The end is always coming . . . you stopped playing ArmA 2 I stopped purchasing ArmA titles from BIS. LOL Sometimes I'm reading a bit on the ArmA 3 forums just for the LULZ and man I'm telling you this community is going to shits. I'm not hanging around on the forum anymore as I used to before. That's life LOL. Gotta a lot of other things to do and the time has come for me to dedicate myself elsewhere. It was nice as long as it lasted. Cheers :bounce3:

ARMA 2: OA Beta build 125548 - Steam Mp Lobby (1.63 build, Steam only)
nettrucker replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
What a sad affair that the community has to fix all the errors introduced by BI with patch 1.63. For me this is a clear sign of an all time low. Thanks guys for fixing things that should've been BI's business from the beginning.
