@jaynus: Could you tell us what's planned for the 1.3? E.g. More features? More stable? Easier install? I.e. For the initiated, is it worth holding out for? BTW thx for all your great work so far. I voted for you guys a few months back so I was stoked to see you win. I'm also pleased to see that it's only improving. -
Are you playing on "Medium" level? Because by default it has an option called Extra Armour enabled. IIRC this can be disabled or simply play on Expert :) Where it is disabled for you among with several other gaming aids.

After a couple of hours of testing I'm dead impressed! Definitely brings back fine memories of H&D2. Nonetheless here are my remarks Errors * Missions occasionally interrupted by "Sound germImcoming not found" * Missions occasionally interrupted by "Sound Ambiance_Scream6 not found" * Wehrmacht speak Russian!? Bug or realistic interpretation of conscripts from Baltic states? * Scripts\fog.sqs not found (mission D+1) Improvements * Omaha loads quickly but lags badly (more than any other mission I've ever tried) * No descriptions for half the missions (Aloft, D+1, OpTarBrush & Paras) * Any more missions with commonwealth troops? OpTarBrush's the only one right? * Any way that BAF owners use Brit voices ;) for Commonwealth troops? Compatibility Has anyone tested other mods with i44? Because over the years our clan has built up a small pack of small but significant mods. Obviously some of them are redundant here but others I think would work with i44. Crumbs that was quick. OK I geddit so I delete asr_vfai but leave asr_weaponreplacements. Incidentally, can you confirm that : a) ASR AI Skills is NOT compatible with A2 ? b) asr_vfai that IS compatible with A2 ? Sorry to bother you but a few tards in our group are still stuck on A2 :(

Played this again last night and it was epic. Just 1 remark though, it seems as if the Warrior (British APC) is practically invulnerable. For, whilst driving across the map to our 1st ammo cache, we encountered scores to OPFOR, many of which were armed with RPGs. They hit our Warrior several times and yet it never seemed to take any damage. Any ideas on why?

Glad you appreciated my (constructive) criticism. You pretty much confirmed my suspicions. In fact during the mission I tried to arm the hossies but couldn't work out how. Isn't it 6 (Action) and then something else? BTW we were running Robalo's fantastic AI Rearming mod, so maybe that borked it... Indeed I was hoping the mod would encourage the hossies to grab a rifle of their own initiative.

Just wanted to let you know that we played Contact Men last Wed and it exceeded my expectations. It epitomised everything we like; * realistic objectives (no destroy AA site, sink carrier, regime change missions) * authentic briefing * small squads (our clan rarely exceeds 6) * no re-spawn (except as within remaining AI) * realistic number of enemy (no "Zulus!") We got royally shafted to start with before changing our tactics. We finished it on our 3rd attempt. Just one slight irritation, once we'd freed the 2 hossies, 1 refused to board our extraction vehicle. Instead he kept prone. Despite our best efforts, he didn't change his attitude until we'd plugged a lone sniper half a mile away. It just didn't seem very realistic. I can understand that he was scared. In which case a little hint would help, e.g. "No Britisher! I cannot! I'm afraid of death! Can you not see them? They continue to hunt us!" or something or other!

Where I come from telling someone "you don't know what you're talking about" is considered quite rude. Furthermore I never said that " speak for most of us". Moreover to claim that one's personal experience is empirical evidence is one thing but to claim that it is an absolute truth is either foolish or rather arrogant. You're forgiven ;) Try the FPS Counter mod from DFS. -

For reasons of architecture SLI rarely effectively doubles FPS. Moreover certain cards require a fair amount of effort to work perfectly. So I stand by my suggestion that for most of us, in terms of "bang for your buck" money spent on SLI is prolly better invested elsewhere. BTW if you don't know how to be polite then I suggest you refrain from posting here. -

Personally I think that any multi-GPU setup (SLI/Crossfire) isn't a very good option. So I think you're much better off spending all that money on: 1) a really strong single GPU (factory overclocked GTX 560 Ti) 2) ensuring that the rest of your PC is sufficiently powerful to avoid bottlenecking (i7-2600K overclocked to 4-5 GHz? + SSD? + 8 GB RAM?) -

Shame! Me too. I was hoping to DL it and try it this weekend. All those videos have got my mouth watering. I dream of a day where I could setup a campaign that would chronicle the build up of the Maquis du Vercors as well as their brutal suppression.

Good point. I can just imagine the mission now... Neutralisation & hostage rescue in the Niger Delta - PMCs are called in by major oil company to secure an oil rig of theirs that has been captured by local rebels angry at the exploitation of "their" resources (MEND). Players infiltrate AO via underwater (using delivery vehicles?) before adopting CQB to secure oil rig. However after clearing the platform they discover that intel was old, the hostages were removed to a secure location the night before. Next mission involves attacking rebel base deep inside the river delta (RIBs charging up mangrove swamps? fast roping from helos?). What d'you think?

No/ Thank YOU! You might also want to consider changing the title of this thread because your efforts go way beyond a simple SP mission; IIRC you now have several COOP missions. BTW if ever you need a Brit for voice overs, I'd be more than happy to help.

Just to let you know that we played this mission last night and it was great fun. I think that part of that was due to the varied nature of the objectives (defend, rescue hostages, secure, etc.). However it did seem to go on for ever (8 objectives?), resulting in a 2-hour mission! Just 2 recommendations: 1) Players should be able to skip the intro 2) Could admins have a small menu in which they could set a few basic mission parameters, e.g. number of objectives, grass, time of day, etc. PS We really liked the custom voice overs
