  1. Hi @vibrate,
    I liked your post because it is useful and covering good "general" aspects in FPS games.
    But this is more kind of a good "starter guide" than about specific tactics in scenarios.
    "Playing dead" or  suppressing the enemy right when you spawn to let your team spread (Clash) would be more tactics for me ;)

    Argo's developer decided to merge Easy and Normal modes leaving only Easy as default.
    Now the HUD can be disabled in the options.
    A marker over the head of teammates is ALWAYS showing when aiming at one.

    The short answer is by playing as much as possible.

    What you should try to optimize is your reaction time, knowledge of the map and some useful skills.
    Like "Hip shots", this will help you gain precious time there too (no time to aim).
    Use your senses (sight and hearing) and your experience to anticipate enemies (possible) position,
    and don't hesitate to pre-fire on corners.

    More frames and less latency are really important.
    If you want, you can lower your video settings as much as you want to get better performance.

    There is also random things to consider, like the server itself, which can lag or bug

    and then cause bad registration of some hits.

    Your rank has nothing to do with this (I have the tool to find your rank 367, but I don't care),
    until your complaints are not about players getting higher, quicker on top of the leaderboards than you do.
    That's mainly why I would be in favor of unlocking all the skill tree. The equipment is really the only thing that gives some advantages over the others.

    Farming also well know as "boosting" topics are not always very clearly identified as such... you know, like in the title ;)
    And not every players are able to identify it, when they don't even know what it is and what's for.
    Also, there is "placeS" other than the forums too, like the feedback tracker and the Discord.

    I agree... too much cheaters / trolls of all kinds in general, but we'll have to deal with them for the moment.

  5. As I missed your point, you probably missed that the "farming" subject / topic is all over the places.
    There was no need create a new one I think.

    I would be in favor of unlocking all the skill tree and keeping the credits system.
    That could solve part of some problems.

    I hope that your rank in the Leaderboards are not what made you create this post.

    I mostly agree with you, but there is and will always be useless players to a team, whatever levels they are.

    The level system is not used as it should, it should be applied only to the credits system and not be part of ranking or quickmatch.
    It is more, for now, a playtime based level system... and does not represent a ranking system.

     

    Higher level players "know" better the game and have usually access to better equipment,
    but nothing prevent you from being more careful than the others when you feel disadvantaged.

    Personally, I have more fun playing almost exclusively with or against higher ranked players,
    because usually they don't die at start and communicate, so I can progress carefully through the map.

    When I was lower level (no scope), I was avoiding playing maps like "Houdan" as much as possible.

    For sure there is some maps that could be identified as more for higher level players (snipers).


    Knowledge of the maps, good observing and communications are essential to be competitive against successful players IMO.

    @GhettoGrill Obviously you need HUD because you're not a good observer ;)

     

    @Lt.Master I thought he was saying that he couldn't find what the Devs changed on the HUD. But I could be wrong.

    Can't agree with that because the HUD is most likely a preference and not something you just like over time.
    Some people won't never know the Compass direction (N,E,S,W) and even their left and right.

     

    Btw. This is probably a decision that have been made to less dilute the player base, between easy and normal.

  9. I totally agree with you on that, but unfortunately, devs won't care about immersion in that game, or at least not anymore I think.
    "If you want immersion, go play Arma 3" they'll probably say.

    Looks like they're kind of lost about what should be the game IMO.


    At the release date and subsequent weeks, I think Argo lost a lot of the "MilSim" players unfortunately,

    so all it is left is people that want Argo being a free CoD or BF like game.

     

    I found Project Argo (prototype) by watching an Arma 3 streamer that played Argo to be able to play quick games with his followers.
    Let me just say that he's not playing this game anymore, since release.

    A Roadmap is pretty like Yoshi_E said, this is a set of goals to achieve in the futur. Argo is still an "Experimental project",
    so if they want to change the game in any way, they'll just do it

    Hi @desgon, if by that you mean the "cross hair / [FR] Réticule", it is only showing when playing on Easy mode severs.
    Unfortunately, when someone click a game mode for a Quickmatch, the default selected difficulty is Normal.
    Here are the main differences between Easy and Normal difficulties ↓

    The new update 1.01 (Changelog) make all the above not as pertinent as before.
    "Argo now only has one difficulty. HUD can be disabled in options."
    Basically, all games are in Easy difficulty...The HUD can now be disabled at the start or the end of a round in the menu options.

    Devs are still working on an in-game "report system" that's coming by next update (soon),
    and BattlEye bans players by waves and not in real time,

    so by the time, he could always get banned.

    Just hope that the "report system" won't work as the same as the "kick system",

    because this is just not working IMO (unless majority are friends).

    Not exactly for the #1.
    I don't really know how much points your team needs to win, but the points are not just gathered by holding Main,

    but also capturing it, disrupting Node 2, capturing Node 2 (but not the first time) and maybe other things.

    * You can have all Nodes captured, plenty of tickets and still be losing.

    Hitzones are: the head, arms, legs and body.
    Whatever shape the vests have, it will only protect the whole body part and only it.

    If the bullet hit 2 zones... it should divide the damage through those 2 zones.

     

    And if I understood well what a dev already wrote in Discord,
    It takes a damage value over 1 to kill a target.
    However, the target can die even when total damage is less than 1, because of body or head damage.

    There is no rank system in Argo (engine limitations), and therefore bad team balance (as seen in your screenshot)...
    So low rank players will still insult you, because they feel disadvantaged against higher ones... and specially snipers.
    If you are a skilled player with better equipment, sure you'll frustrate lower skilled players and even more when they only have a 5.56 with level 1 or 2 sight/scope.

    When the majority of the players will be 25, then you'll probably get less insults ;)

    I've been playing Argo for more than 2 months and always enjoyed each game modes for what they are,

    regardless of players (Noobs, Veterans, TK, Cheaters, etc...).
    But since the release, I find myself playing a lot more of CLASH games than the others though.

     

    For me, Clash is well balanced in terms of different approaches I can have to make my way through.

    In a single round, you can recon, snipe, assault, infiltrate and so on...


    Also, it is more difficult to predict where the enemies will be (even when playing with friends or regular players) than the 2 other modes, where there is a lot more of predictable patterns IMO.

    As @3RRORmentioned above, BattlEye won't ban you about your stats. * There is for sure players with better stats than you ;)
    BattlEye isn't able to ban you from unofficial servers (as they are not BattlEye enabled),
    get on a CUSTOM server or try to join a game via a friend through Steam.

    * SOLVED:
    Temporary banned on behalf of BI for his stats, the bad ones... Team Kills ;)

    The meta of killing someone and then having to run a fake route for 5 seconds is just silly.

    First, I'm for keeping a "killcam" in the game.

    The Killcam should only shows enough, so the dead can trust that the kill was legit.
    It should not follow the killer's movements and 2 seconds of it would be really enough I think. A screenshot would be ok too.

    * To find out the location of the killer, there is other information at our disposal to use.
    Even if we should not be able to communicate when we are dead though.
