There should also be a bar with enabled and non-enabled DLCs in the lower-left corner of the main menu. Please post back whether it works or not so I know whether to try to think of more things that could have happened.

Precisely what are you expiriencing? You can't just get the DLC items in most of the official scenarios. Also, if you see a weapon or an item and you own all the DLCs, there's no way for you to know it's a DLC item. Can you acess the Tanoa terrain in the editor? If yes, you have all the DLCs in game, you just don't notice it.

Welcome to the strange parts of Arma! If you like stuff breaking try using the Enchanced Movement mod, you probably will get stuck in a wall and die. -

Try for yourself: Spawn a hummingbird in the editor, go in third person and hit the wires with the rotor blade. -

I have crashed (vanilla) hummingbirds into wires before. Plus if you're going in first person it's quite easy to misjudge whether you will (have) hit the wires or not. -
I'd sacrifice graphics for CPU if I was building and Arma PC.

I didn't see you passing through anything in that vid actually. -

I have a lot of examples of the contrary. Must be something with the particular wires. -

As far as I remember, Comanche (4) is nothing like Arma. In fact it's the opposite where gunner and pilot are the same person. Still a fun game, I recommend it. Also, don't believe anyone who tells you G is for gear and/or the "eject" in helicopters is for the CD player. Both of these will lead to your untimely virtual demise. -

The only sort of competitive scene I can remember is Friday Night Fights and these are invite-only events in which whole units often participate. Public events done by a group are there but they're essentially there to get you to join the group. Units often provide basic training to those who need it (and others won't let you in unless you have 500+ hours but still train you as if you never played the game before). Getting into a major-major clan is rather hard and it's often better to have a small-ish group where you have a realistic chance of learning everyone's name -

I've seen this happen. Also, if you plan on being with a group, lear to use the ACE and Task Force Radio mods. For some reason, most groups use these. Also, a bit of personal advice: steer clear of RP milsim groups and if you don't, do ten times more research. These guys usually will want you to put them before real life, not to even mention you will get yelled at. -

Remember: G is for Grenade, not gear. Used to be gear in previous games, I hear it caused a lot of havoc among A2 communities which just moved to A3. -
I tried to use the editor to create a Raid map for the sake of it, and discovered we don't have acess to the Arma 3 vehicles as static objects the way they are used in the official Argo maps. Would certainly be nice to have them for the purpose of level design.

You're lucky. PS2 (at least to me) fells rather like Arma in its combined arms aspect, so it shouldn't be that hard to adapt. As for getting the most out of Arma, play the Zeus gamemode. It's awesome. Also, try to find a good group to join. This game really shines in semi-organized coop, but pvp can also be very fun. Keep in mid though you will not find a unit that mostly uses vanilla. Some of the best mods are the RHS pack. CUP is fairly useful (ported content from BI's earlier Arma games). If you like going in-depth with the possibilitis of the game editors, you might like the scripting. If that sounds good, this is a good place to see. P.S. This was written over about 40 mins so don't mind the stylistics. -
I'd saythe matchmaking should be locked until one plays the tutorial for the rexpective gamemode, but it might be a bit too much.
-
There needs to be a tutorial explaining the different gamemodes and objectives. People often seem to think they have to cap the airdrop rather than the objectives.

Teamkilling on official servers needs to stop!

The thing is, it's very hard for a script to tell FF from TK. Conceivably, there could be a range inside of which the script thinks the killer DEFENITELY saw the uniform, but I find friendly fire often happens in close quarters due to reaction shots. -

Is it TK or is it friendly fire? There's a difference. -
Is there a way to get a return from addAction to see who triggered it in multiplayer? Thanks.
-
addAction - Instigator return?
SpacePilotMax replied to SpacePilotMax's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Thanks, I'm an idiot. -
Seems like the guy is saying there should be no global chat during the action phase.

May I ask the (just to know) where the level designers made the Argo levels?
-
Do you even know how AI works? Changing a part of something that complicated will probably break something. Even less complicated sorts of AI than that in Arma are very complex and hard to program. Arma has an advanced AI system, just try placing one in a city and see if it gets lost. I've seen AI clear a building by themselves without mods. That's worth something.

Bit of balancing feedback: like in Arma 3, SPAR-16 handles more like an SMG than a rifle but stil has the power of 5.56 and the SPMG seems to be essentially the SPAR but more accurate and with a gigantic mag.
-
I know that. I'm not asking for the vehicles to be driveable, but rather for use as static props the way they are used in the official maps.
