    Server monetization program

Note that I am a member of 3 Commando Brigade, but I am not related to our modding team and this is just my personal view on this. I am not strictly against monetization, but the biggest issue for me when people earn money based on the work of other people. Especially if the creators of the content want to share their content for free. So I don't really mind it when servers have "premium slots" and they charge money for it. Nobody is forced to play on these servers and spend money. It is much different when they use third party content and they earn money over that. I am no lawyer, but to me this is at least morally wrong and so I wish that BI could support the actual modding community here. If you give out your content for free and other people abuse it to earn a profit.
  3. It am sure everything is all legal, but some people pointed out that content is used that is publicly available. That is okay and I do not have any issues with that as per se. There is a difference if somebody is handing out free food, or if somebody is actually giving you something specifically for you. Beside that this is a free and open forum and if you advertise something you should expect any form of feedback. In the end I can only agree with previous users and I am looking forward with interest to your future content.
  4. Well there are functions missing that you had in previous versions and those where things you could switch on/off with the ingame menu. Things like the compass directions for example. It allowed a pretty high level of customization with the options to hide or show the three main aspects of the hud like show/hide radar, show/hide names and show/hide compass. I dont know why the decision was made that you can not turn off/on the compass with the ingame menu. Beside that, I can only agree with serjames and fanatic, the hexagons are a huge immersion killer at the moment.
  5. What bugs me is that the level of customization has been drastically decreased. In older versions individual clients had much more options to shape STHud to the personal needs. For example, I always turned the compass off and only had the radar and in most cases the names on the screen. This combination is not possible at the moment. So yeah, I would like to see these options back and I agree that the unit hexagon markers should also be off while keeping the occlusion feature if a client wants to have them off.
  6. Short question about a recent change (?) in the medical module. While a lot of things are broken right now, we still decided to do our usual small scale mission on wednesday as always. When some people got hit and bandaged themselves, they reported that for example a minor wound would turn into a partial wound. I suspect that this is no direct change in the way wounds and bandages work, but just on how things are displayed in the medical menu. Different bandages have different effectiveness on special type of wounds. As a example: - When people were usuing a quick cloth in the past on a avulsion, they were not using the "best" bandage for this type of wound and the result is they would need more than one bandage to fix the wound. - After applying one bandage the medical menu would just display the wound as still active and bleeding while it was pretty much "half fixed". So is this just a change in the display that basically tells players that the wound has not been fully fixed yet? Or is this a completly new thing?
  7. Are there any plans to change the way damage (especially to the legs) works in ACE3? We in the 3CB use some settings which could be describes as intermediate difficulty settings for the medical system. Everyone and not just medics can bandage people and can apply medicine. However only medics are allowed to use the PAK. So far this works pretty well with one big exeption. It feels like players very often recieve damage to their legs and this is resulting in players being unable to walk/sprint etc. As far as I know this can only really be fixed by another player/medic using a PAK on that player. I dont think it is a bad idea that people can get "broken" legs but the this appears more often as it should happen. As a result the gameplay is artificially slowed down. If somebody get's a tiny wound on one leg you have to wait for a medic to arrive and use a PAK on him. It is even worse when a medic has a injured leg, since the only other person that can fix that is another medic. So is this a "known issue" that will be worked on? Another thing that I think has been requested by a lot of players would be a module where you can designate vehicles/buildings and medical vehicles/field hospitals. While being in those vehicles/buildings all players would have the same benefits of being a medic.
  8. Any idea why it will not actually save stuff? I placed some things down and when i press the try the genere missio .sqf button the clipboard will not show anything at all. The only thing it does show (if i enable it) is markers. I have placed some BLUFOR, INDIE AI and some static things like car wrecks and checkpoints.
  9. Already done that, still this is far from being perfect and good to use (especially when you are using TrackIR). Another thing that is bugging me is the poor (?) overview you sometimes get with it. I am not 100% sure if it was a bug or just me not looking in the right place. I had a player being injured and I checked him from the right side because I was in a small building, he was next to a wall and a enemy vehicle outside driving around. So I checked him and found his head and torso injured. My plan was to fix his bleeding, stabilize him further and use a PAK on him. So I bandaged the wounds and the icons for the body parts were not red anymore. The little human figure also did not show any more injured parts but the status was still bleeding. I bandaged the body parts some more but eventually the player died. So iam not sure if it is related to a bug that is not displaying bleeding wounds correctly or if I just could not see wounds because I was on the "wrong" side of the body. This would be very annoying because it would be not very logical from a realism and gameplay aspect that I can not see wounds that are there because my body is on the wrong side, while I look perfectly down on the player. This is one of the main reasons why I dont like the menu and I think there should be a alternative to it.
  10. Are there any plans to offer a alternative version for the UI in ACE3? Maybe not for all aspects of it but I would certainly like a alternative for ACE3 Medical. The entire dynamic menu is shiny but at the end of the day I would rather have something that "works" well and is easier to use and a bit more user friendly. When using it, it often feels like I am not playing ArmA 3 and I am more or less playing the ACE3 menu. I would rather have a UI that is helping me to get the things done that are important right now and not doing it's own thing. In short I would lik to have a UI that is there for the player and not the other way around. A more static version like the ones in AGM or CSE would be very welcome.
