  1. I'm actually building several large ALiVE Campaigns with this mod Pulstar. I have a beach assault mission using FFAA and the Atlas LHD that I should have on Steam in the next few days. I also have one of my campaigns up on Steam (AuburnAlumni is my username) called Spanish Sunrise (FFAA invasion of Isla Duala). I'm very anxious to get my hands on the naval assets coming to FFAA soon. That destroyer looks sick.
  2. That's awesome. Thank you sir. I'm not a modder...but if anyone else gets around to tweaking the Challenger/M1 tanks, please post the links as both of those are so much more immersive to use than the standard vanilla/modded tanks.
  3. It's the virtualization that causes the issue. Go to any map In the editor. Place the Nimitz Populate the Nimitz with Aircraft Place ALiVE modules Switch the ALiVE Virtual AI module to "Virtualize all editor placed units except synced units" Click Preview The Carrier will go bonkers (spawn 2 carriers on top of each other) and the jets will be underwater. It's because when you virtualize the objects...i.e. handing them over to ALiVE...it changes the heights of those objects to 0, which of course...causes issues.

Had 2 of our group disconnect the other night and were able to join back fine so I'm not sure. I set it up under side specific, which it defaults to if no faction specific is made. Works great for us. Thanks again for the great units.

Tasks are not autogenerated. It's up to you and your unit to question the local populace, gather intel, and find the location of the Taliban strongholds. Once you establish the location of Insurgent installations...IED factories, weapons caches, etc....you'll need to blow them up with explosives to hurt the Taliban war effort. You'll want to talk to the civs. Use the mousewheel to either Arrest/Search/Talk to/Gather Intel. You'll get different options with different civs. It's actually pretty awesome. You can observe a town and notice that several Civs are going into a building...then suddenly...a guy with an AK 47 peeks out of the building...tipping you off that it may be a recruitment HQ. Main things to remember are.... 1. Patrol, Patrol, Patrol....go to each small village, town and talk to everyone. Some will talk...some wont. But if you find a helpful Civ who will let you Gather Intel...it can pay off in a big way. 2. Be on guard always. IEDs are everywhere. Suicide bombers can be around any corner, and a passing truck or van could have Taliban fighters pop out for a hit and run attack on your troops! 3. Once you locate an installation, get some things that go "Boom!" and blow it sky high!

Are you talking about the tablet? It's supposed to bring that up. It saves each module for persistence. Hit server save and exit and the alive system will go through each cycle (virtual AI, opcom, cqb, logistics, etc). This can take several minutes depending on how many profiles, installations are on the map. I just tested and it worked fine for me saving and exiting.

Yes, as long as the building is destroyed, you're good to go.

I use TADST (creates Dedi on the same machine as I'm playing on) Yes, you'll need Alive Server and Alive on the Dedi, only need ALiVE Client side. Once you set up a Dedi, go to the ALiVE War Room and sign up. When you do so, you'll then be able to save all of your mission data persistently in the War Room and you can pick up where you left off at anytime. It also does a great job of tracking kills, shots fired, etc. http://alivemod.com/war-room

ALiVE Insurgencies, unlike standard ALiVE "traditional" military operations, are more organic than that. Suicide bombers can be around any corner, and a passing truck or van could have Taliban fighters pop out for a hit and run attack on your troops! 3. Once you locate an installation, get some things that go "Boom!" and blow it sky high! Here is an example of my unit finding a Taliban Weapons Cache....

Talking to Civilians does a few things.... 1. If you talk to the town elders, etc. you have a chance of decreasing hostility in the region towards your forces...which in turn...decreases the recruits that the Taliban have to send against you. 2. There is a chance that the Civs will give you intel (i.e. you'll see Taliban installations pop up on your map for you to destroy). This is vital in locating and destroying the major areas of Taliban activity. If the population is hostile towards you, it's harder to get them to talk to you. Also..be careful of Civs who run to you....they could be a suicide bomber.

Glad you like it! I kept the Artillery Support out as I didn't want the player side to be too overpowered (already have a Close Air Support Attack Chopper and Helo Transport). Yes, the AI will jump into a gun position every once in a while. lol Not an all the time thing.
  13. Burnes, I noticed that the Challenger is fairly indestructible when fighting other modded Tanks (Leights, Massi's, RHS). I am using RAM with your tank and One Challenger took out over 20 tanks without getting knocked out. Didn't know if this was intended, etc. but I thought I would mention it. Awesome interior lighting at night BTW!!

Iron Front as mod in Arma 3

It sure is. I have several Iron Front missions I've made with ALiVE. Works great.
  15. I had hit "virtualize all editor placed units" so the Hornets and carrier were "wigging out" when virtualized since it defaults their height back to 0.
  16. i figured out what it was. It was a virtualization issue using ALiVE. Got it fixed. Thanks.

    3CB BAF Units

You're referring to Burnes Challenger? That's the one I use...its outstanding. I use real armor mod as well and it seems to work well. Is there a known issue? EDIT: James, after testing, I see what you mean. One Challenger took out 20 Leights Opfor tanks, then took out 10 RHS Russian T-90 Tanks before being knocked out. I will say..the Vanilla CSAT T-100s were pretty even with the Challenger, but as a guy who despises the "future" units....this is a shame. Is Burnes aware of this? Any chance he restructures it to be more even against modern era modded Tanks? It's a beautiful vehicle and after seeing all the bells and whistles in it, it's hard to go back to a Vanilla style tank.
  19. Hey Guys, Really impressive work. GREAT new update on the textures. Fantastic stuff!!

    3CB BAF Units

Hey fellas, Since this is the 3CB thread, I figured yall would be the best group to ask this question. I'm seting up some large scale ALiVE Conventional War Persistent Campaigns. I've collected enough high quality British unit mods to put together a well rounded strike force. In regards to a British Royal Navy/Army assault group (if you use ALiVE, I'm thinking at the Battalion 400 level)... what would be a good split on Tanks, APCs, Support Helicopters on the map? For example...at that level is it realistic to have 30 Challenger MBTs, 60 Ridgebacks/Jackals/Warriors, 12 Apaches/Wildcats,etc? Any assistance would be appreciated. I like to be as accurate as possible when building my force compositions for my ALiVE campaigns.
  21. Burnes, Your addons are amazing. The Challenger and M1 are almost like playing another game via a tank simulator. Amazing work!!! Kudos!!
  22. LOL..I had a brain fart and thought I was in the actual ALiVE Forum, not Bohemia forums. Brain malfunction. Sorry guys. Mods, please remove this.

    Iraqi-Syrian Conflict

I just finished building a COOP MP mission on Gunkizli using ALiVE. Russian VDV vs ISIS forces. I can upload it to Steam if you want to give it a whirl.

    3CB BAF Units

Coming from a guy who makes missions almost strictly using ALiVE and who LOVES your British Units, I'd love an "all in one" faction as well. It is quite tedious making British Missions and having to manually place the vehicles...then get the vanilla Blufor drivers out, manually add the British Commandos in, etc. Setting them up so that the infantry, vehicles, etc. are all under a single faction would make it 100x easier to use the British Forces in my ALiVE missions. Just my .02. As I've said...you guys have some of the best looking units in all of Arma. *SIDE NOTE*...if you guys could add some Ridgebacks, Challengers, etc to your Coyotes and Jackals that would also be awesome.
